In a small village in the central plains, a large group of peasants surrounded Zhang Jiao who stood in the center atop a small hill. He spoke loudly and clearly with a serious tone. His long yellow robes blew with the wind which seemed to grow stronger the longer he spoke. He seemed very committed to his words. "Hear me people of the land! The Han has unfairly stolen your food and money for the last time! How many times have we paid for their extravagance?! How much must we suffer so that they may enjoy the fruits of our labor?! We toil day after day in the fields and they look down their noses at us as they get fat on the food we harvested! Food that rightfully belongs to us! Worse yet, the Mandate of Heaven is no longer with the Han! Floods have swept away entire villages and famines that starve others out! I say ENOUGH! Rise up and join the Yellow Turbans in our rightful rebellion!" With that said he drew his sword and pointed it at the Heavens; A massive lightning bolt streaked across the sky in broad daylight. It would seem as if Zhang Jiao had the Mandate of Heaven. Edited by Zhang Jiao, Jun 14 2013, 03:44 AM.

The wooden chair he was sitting in fell over as Zhang Jiao stood up quickly and placed a hand on the hilt of his sword, but did not draw it. He wore a grim expression as he glanced around, trying to determine if what was happening around him was an illusion or reality. This encounter had began as any other day for the yellow turban's leader, but now it had changed. This man sitting before him was not as he appeared. After thinking on what he saw around him he relaxed and raised his hand from his sword and gently swiped it through the air. The sound around them faded and died as if they were the only ones there; Zhang Jiao looked at Tian Xia and spoke in a firm tone, "I see an inevitability. The flames of chaos will cover the entire land and much blood will be spilled before we will have unity again. This is a cycle of destruction that will never end....unless I prevail." With a flourish of yellow robes he turned and held his hand out in front of him, two fingers pointed up. He focused his energy into Yang, the light, and began to chant a spell. Within moments the fires were extinguished and the people's wounds were healed by the golden rays of the sun before it slipped over the horizon. Night had fallen. Zhang Jiao opened his eyes, turned back to Tian Xia and spoke once more, "The people and the land will indeed be consumed by flames, but that is the price we must pay to achieve our goals. Corruption will be cleansed through fire...once those fires die out the land can begin to heal. This is the Way of Peace!" |

what happens when light becomes darkness... ... and darkness becomes light? The scene changed drastically in tone and hue a myriad of times as the face of reality seemed to change with every swing of the arm. From cheers, to cries, to silence. From dusk to flame to nightfall. Only the two figures that had situated themselves apart from the rest remained a constant; one having risen from his fright to counteract the demons that had awakened and the other continuing to remain as still as the nightsky above them; his arm outstretched and his right leg crossed over the left. Raging flames still blazed behind them; revealing the two figures and only the two figures in their glow. As if they themselves were not of this reality. "A cleansing. You're so right, my dear lord Zhang. But there's something you need to know." The glow that surrounded their position disappeared as they were enveloped by the darkness of the nightsky. Dark clouds overhung a harrowing silence, as a strike of lightning at the darkened hill drew horrific screams before the sound of silent death. A haunting blue glow emanated from the rapid strike of lightning to illuminate the young Sleeping Dragon's face a last time; accompanied by a whisper. "Demons never die." And with the arrival of moonlight's glow immediately after the strike, the young Dragon that had once been at the Way of Peace leader's side disappeared; his wooden seat vacant. As if he had never existed. A lonely fabrication of a cruel reality. when suffering becomes triumph... ... and triumph becomes suffering?

As soon as the redhead vanished a heavy rain fell upon the area, giving white noise to Jiao's swirling thoughts and a soothing chill upon his skin. A red truth had been revealed to him just now; Others would probably never know what had just transpired....or what was at stake. The chaos would only worsen and the leader of the yellow turbans knew he had much work ahead of him. As raindrops rolled down his face and dripped from his hair he looked up into the dark storm with hope in his eyes. Hope that he would succeed in his endeavor. "Heaven, give me strength," He whispered before pulling up his hood and hurrying away from the area. He had much to meditate on. Edited by Zhang Jiao, Jun 15 2013, 05:10 AM.
