Simple and small place with a front yard spacious enough for practicing martial arts with several different types of weapons arranged neatly on the racks. A small living room with a square table for honoring guests. A small and cramped bedroom just for himself. Xiang Long lives alone. No attendants, no dogs. Xiang Long travels very often. If no one answers the door, he is away and it would be best to leave a message or letter, he is not illiterate! Gold can't buy happiness? No, but it sure helps

Mon entered the door, glancing behind as he saw Zhang Xing speeding off, this man must be popular he thought. "Greetings, I am Chung Mon. I heard of a man of talent in these lands, a warrior, and thought it best to introduce myself. I'll be forthright, I do intend to invite you to join me in Bei Ping either as an officer of Jiao Fu or simply as a contractor to aid in the city's expansion. However, my primary goal is to make your splendid acquaintance. I have never been a man of the sword myself and admire your talents greatly. What does a man of your skills seek in this tumultuous time?" Edited by Chung Mon - Half, Jul 1 2013, 12:33 AM.

"Straight to the point, I see." "Please come in and take a seat. Your words flattered me." Curious, Xiang Long asked "City's expansion? What goals and ambitions are in your mind?" |

Chung Mon sat down, pleased by Long's eagerness and curiosity. "I feel it to early to divulge all of my goals; only those loyal to me are privy to such things. However, my ambitions are another matter. I am a man of simple beginnings, a man of trade and a man of ambition. I have risen in standing in the great city of Bei Ping and now wish to expand the beliefs I have fostered there over the years. I believe in unification, like any great leader of the current age, but I believe in unification through free trade and equality of opportunities irrespective of background. The protection of a man's right to sell his wares and to make of himself what he can is of my utmost concern and it is curtailed in this current barbaric time and in previous tyrannical years. Through mutual respect I aim to bring the free men and even mercenaries of China, as they are entrepreneurs at heart, together under one banner to take back the true essence of China." Mon stopped for a drink, this discussion had become almost instinctual to him now after talking with men and women across China. "I must add also, that after recent discussion with a supporter of the previous empire, I am still debating the reinstatement of the Emperor. However, this would end up being a primarily honorary title not one of absolute power - a notion abhorrent to freedom." Edited by Chung Mon - Half, Jul 2 2013, 01:43 PM.

Xiang Long was pretty amazed. "Your ideals are pretty unique I would admit. I have never thought about it this way. It might probably bring forth a new era if it works. A free trade... I never thought someone would have such views on mercenary. Some just see them as people who wants a living and have completely no loyalty." "I'm not used to working with someone so quickly in a short time. Bonds need time to foster. Perhaps you can let me join in one of your battles one day." Xiang Long said truthfully. |

"I am glad you can see the merit in my ideals. It is not the fault of the man that he becomes a mercenary. He seeks safety, control, independence and freedom in a world which seeks to destroy those very desires." Mon smiled, "I understand your wariness regarding trust, it stems from exactly what I have just said - there is little to trust in our world. I would be glad let you accompany our military on one of its routine incursions, they will frequently head out to remove corrupt government officials from regional power. I would also like to invite you to work in my city when you find yourself with time to spare, I believe a man of your talent would know a thing or two about crafting weapons and you would be superb at training our troops." Xiang Long tries hard to find sparring partners or opponents who could help further hone his martial arts. To his disappointment, he has yet met anyone who would fight or accept his challenge. By returning the favour to Lord Chung Mon, Xiang Long joined his faction where he thought he might find and create a better self. He successfully took down 2 cities for his lord while trying to keep the lost of his men to the minimal. Fighting alongside him, Geming Junjie was perhaps the only person in the force to understand the way of a warrior. Xiang Long figured this was not the life he wanted to pursue... not in the military. One day, he decided to leave his office quietly and took nothing else except his own personal weapon and steed. He left a letter bidding farewell to his benefactor lord. He decided to set sail to the mysterious Island to the east sea which the commoners were talking about. It was rumored that a civilization resides being led by a head priestess. Xiang Long thought perhaps he might find something worth of interest and even martial arts that were not seen in the central plains would be an eye-opener. But before he leave the shores, he decided to pay a visit to a friend. Edited by RX0, Aug 18 2013, 02:22 PM.
