Corburn Centre for Economic Development

The CCED is a Corburnian think-tank based in Corburn. Founded 25 years ago by Jason Soothe, the CCED offers research and statistics in the economic field. From time to time, the CCED advises governments, and has done so previously to the Kingdom of Corburn City, in -19, when it recommended a revision of the city's fiscal system. This revision was critical to the city's future, and it avoided a catastrophe regarding tax evasion and debt. The CCED was lauded and endorsed by the City of Corburn.

That's our history. Today, we have a new plan.

The economy in Corburn is terrible-- there's no ther way to put it. People are constantly leaving the country due to widespread poverty, and the few rich are holding on to their money, hoping for it to not be stolen or heavily taxed. All the businesses that used to take pride in calling themselves Corburnian have deserted, leaving only abandoned buildings behind. We at the CCED have a plan to turn this mess into a success. We advise the Corburnian Senate to give government handouts to all companies, without expecting a return. We estimate that C608,200 ($10,000) would be a sufficient amount.

This will lure business back in to the Republic of Corburn, and avoid them hiding in nearby tax havens. Although no proper estimations have been carried out yet, we are sure that this will raise the Gross Domestic Product, raise the number of citizens and raise the quality of life overall in the country.

We will be expecting a reply from at least one senator. All senators and government officials may reply to this open letter if they wish, too.

Yours,

Thomas Arlington, Senior Researcher at the Corburnian Centre for Economic Development.

The research has been completed, and the following will occur:

GDP per capita will raise to $9,008.99. About 1 million people will reenter Corburn (still 1 million off from where we were two years ago), and the value of the Cor will be $0.15 ($1 = 6.77). The average salary will rise to 102,914.02 ($15,201.48) a year, and the cost of living will be of a more acceptable standard.

It will cost an approximate C33,173,000,000 ($4.9bn) to the government, but after all the taxes introduced by the Senate, C135.4bn will still be made every year.

The Libertarian Party will benefit the most from this. Their poll rating will be at 35.81%, after taking almost 100,000 people out of poverty, and into the wealthy category. The Socialist Party would be, understandably, against this, as it will lose them 4 points in the polls.

Any other information you wish to know about, Minister Latham?

Yours,

Thomas Arlington

I oppose this bill as it is funding private companies instead I propose the money goes to Corburnian Government owned companies that will indiscriminately hire all people of any social and economic status. This way all people of our nation will benefit from our investment.
