Code Name: Obsidian (Known as Rhyol to Space Travellers) Birth Name: Daniel Elling Appearance: Daniel is to all appearances, normal. He is 5' 8" tall, with a medium build and a noticeable muscle density. He's not someone who spends hours in the gym, but his job has kept him in a fairly stable state. He has brown hair that is constantly flat and patted down as though it is constantly wet and green eyes. Daniel can generally be seen wearing black work boots and grey Jeans, he also wears a grey shirt with the a SAFEGUARD logo crossed through, finally for the cold days he wears a grey coat which he has to leave if he is forced to activate the Rhyolitic Flux. The Rhyolitic Flux is normally a plain looking black stud earring on Daniel's left ear, with a silver plating and sides the most striking feature is the black gem, which looks like dark glass or Obsidian. When activated the stud begins to fold out, as though it can only create a piece the same size as the stud and each must be touching. It can encase Daniel in 1 minute and fits tight to his body and the clothes he is wearing as though it is his own skin. The only point of difference is the face, it doesn't conform to his face but takes on the appearance of the eyes of an old school military gas mask, while the lower half of his face juts out slightly as though his nose were that low and has slats to allow him to breath. Personality: Daniel is a nice guy, he genuinely wants to help people and sees the best way to do that as rebuilding homes and clearing up after the heroes/Villains. He is generally distrustful of any of the 'capes' due to their wontant property damage and their general carelessness for human lives. Daniel is not the brightest fellow, he isn't dumb but he only knows enough to survive in his world of building and living, advanced math and technology more advanced than a video game console may as well be an alien language to him. Finally Daniel's sense of morality is slightly skewed, he takes the view that if he is okay with something then everyone else should be, despite the fact different opinions and circumstances may exist. This doesn't make him a villain it just makes his decisions less righteous Origins: During the clean-up after the most recent Alien Battle in Starlight City, Daniel was moving rubbish when he found the Rhyolitic Flux, an artifact dropped by an alien (not of the invading force) who had merely been stopping through. At the time it was shaped like the matrix of leadership from ... The movie who shall not be named ... So Daniel picked it up. The thing pricked his finger and he felt a massive rush into the very depths of his brain, as though something was scanning and assessing him. Daniel tried to drop the device, but it had already began to cling to his body, flipping and rotating its way to his head. Daniel tried in vain to rip it off but it was no good, the flux finally came to a stop on his ear in the form of an ear stud. Powers:
