I love this new forum. No ridicolous rules Everyone is free to say their opinion Everyone is nice to each other talking about taeny is aloud (no one complains) everyone talks nicely about the girls (not like men would do it, like in tlc) Edited by Taengoo, Feb 13 2013, 07:52 PM.

Could somebody explain me why Windmill and Rei lurk here? That's the part I completely don't understand... Don't they already have plenty of job with banning, trolling and censoring the old tlc thread? |

anon is gonna get banned I like it here, I don't feel like moving there anymore, I think those rants will help clueless anons to see the real state of the thread, but since the two mods are there I bet that post got deleted and anon banned. imo if people really want rei and windmill to be out of the thread, you'll need proof that they're doing it wrong and pm an admin to see the case, in this case the amount of people who fill a complaint could help (it's not the same to fill a complain as one anon or one reg to have 20 anons and 10 regs) I prefer being here rn, it's a fresh start and I like the banner

I saw Wind spoilering that post, but now is gone. Rei probably deleted it, or maybe Wind but then it was pointless to spoiler it first. |

I love it when foreign friends send me stuff to eat/drink. I may know nothing about Japanese tea, but the green + roasted rice tea I'm drinking right now tastes great.

I love that too. My friends usually send me some pictures from groceries shop in their countries and let me pick products which I want to try (and I usually pick these with coollest packages, so I always end up with something strange, last time it was fried sweet potatoes chips because of pink bag and I felt a little bit like maknae eating them ).I don't know why it isn't common knowledge, but green tea with roasted rice is really delicious and really easy to make. I also like to add some milk to my green tea, but don't know if that suits everyone.

Maybe I should start asking for pics too, though I never ask for anything, they send them as gifts. ^^ Sadly, I can't really send back anything other than Mexican candy (can't exactly send a tamal by mail, lawl) or powder for traditional drinks, but so far they've all enjoyed them. --- She even sent me instructions on how to prepare it. I had no idea that you needed to be that careful when preparing tea, lol. We stir the life out of our tea in my country, and don't really care if it's tap water since it's going to be boiled anyway. In the end I don't know if I brewed it correctly, but it was really delicious. Genmaicha she said it was called. I have to buy more of that. |

How to prepare it? Man, we just throw a teabag somewhere near water and wait.

I'm really pissed of that here, where I live, I can't buy any good tea in reasonable price and those teabags are usually an awful knock off of real tea. I believe you should just put a few (up to 4) tablespoons of tealeaves to a pot, then pour a hot water (but not a boiling one, and warmer than 90 ° C), steem for around 10-40 seconds. Pour a little tea to each coup alternately, so the richer infusion from the bottom of the top can be distribuated evenly and tadaaa! It's ready. At least that's the way I make it.

1st - Use good water. - Good water in this case being water with minerals in it or spring water. 2nd - Use a good kettle. - Whatever that means but by some strange luck, my mother owns a Japanese tea set complete with a kettle, so I used that. 3rd - Do not save the leaves! Use one paper-ful of leaves per cup. - She sent me these really fine rice paper sheets. But only two tea bags. T^T 4th - Water for Genmaicha tea should be around 80°C. 5th - Do not let it brew to long! 1 to 2 minutes should be enough. 6th & 7th - Do NOT stir! Just move around the kettle or cup to mix the contents. Serve selflessly and enjoy. - The not stirring part I get, but serving selflesly? Does sharing a laugh with my mom counts as serving selflesly? We stir and press the tea bags (because we don't use leaves, ain't nobody got time for that) against the cups, because "that brings the flavor out." @mengkai: I wouldn't even know where to look for genmaicha. We have loads of traditional Thai and Chinese stores here, but Japanese? They're really rare. Edited by Ihla, Feb 13 2013, 11:03 PM.

oh, I always by myself a lazy version, with a brewed rice already inside. But don't worry, I bet you can buy some Genmaicha in Japanese local store, although the price will be probably quite high. (;へ:) I laughed a little bit at this pressing the tea bag part... Do you squeeze them also?

I just press those suckers against the cup really hard until the water changes color. Add another tea bag if necessary. ^^ Are you Japanese, mengkai? Edited by Ihla, Feb 13 2013, 11:31 PM.

x2 If even that. I just throw in a teabag and leave it there for half a minute before pressing it and then just adding milk or something. |
