Am@nda Byn3s' elliptical workout has got to be one of those weird moments that you wish you never saw, but watching it, you simply cannot look away.

In other news, Blue is the Warmest Color wins Palme d'Or. I just wish they'd stop referring to it as "lesbian movie", since it clearly is not.

She was so cute in the Amanda show and I was certain that she wouldn't go off the rails like other child stars. It's sad.

Still, those two gifs together cracked me up.

From the reviews I read, the main character played by Adèle Exarchopoulos is ambiguous(probably bi-sexual) and the character played by Léa Seydoux is a lesbian. This film is a coming of age story, it's about a teenager exploring her wants and needs. Sexuality isn't always black or white; especially when one is a teenager.
I think any visibility on the big screen when it comes to LGBT cinema is great, especially if it wins a prestigious award like the Palme d'or which will generate loads of buzz. ;)

Did you also read that Carol (bases on the book The Price of Salt) finally got the funding it required to be made? Harvey Weinstein's company is funding the film which is great since he's one of the biggest producers on our planet. Lets hope Cate Blanchett and Mia Wasikowska don't drop out for this project, seeing them together as lovers in a film is a dream come true. This could finally be our lesbian Brokeback Mountain. :dramaqueen:

... I did not know about Carol, awesome news! I am slightly in love with Blanchett and I hope she pulls it off (seeing as I have very specific image based on the book). And, yay, for Weinstein picking it up.

I am now patiently waiting for "Blue" to start making more rounds on the festival block. It sounds like a gem. I fear, though, that when it hits the cinemas, I'm gonna be left with a highly censored version. So, festivals are my hope! ^o)

I can't remember the title, but I remember the bitter sense of disappointment and annoyance at the stupid plot conclusion.

I also watched a lesbian TV show that Nane linked on the Skype group but one girl killed the other girl and got put in jail for it.

Lesbian films are usually indeed super dramatic. 90% of the time it ends in one of the girls going straight because of social pressure, suicide, killing someone else or just using the other for shits and giggles. There aren't that many happy go luck lesbian films out there, and most lesbian film aren't very good.

I've watched like 95% of the lesbian films out there, and the lesbian films that came out the last several years leave a lot to be desired.

I did hear that there is a 10 minute sex scene. Why do you think it's gonna be censored, you live in a conservative country?

Well you mentioned death and a lesbian turning staright and that movie has both, so...

I liked NaoMily (the first part) and I watched some clips of the lesbian couple form the show South of Nowhere and I own The L Word, but that's pretty much it for lesbian shows.

The first two scenes from this clip always gets me.

They're definitely isn't that many happy go lucky lesbian films, but then again those are kind of boring. At least not everyone dies in them/turns straight any more, so success.

Also, if you haven't seen this you need to.

Ugh, why does no one talk about Sugar Rush, that was like the first TV show in Britain to feature lesbians big time. Though i like Skins, Sugar Rush is way better.

Just stumbled upon this, but it's a beautifully shot video that put a social norms and stereotypes into perspective. I just overall enjoyed this new take on sexuality.

Fully agree with you, Bakery. Sugar Rush was a hundred times better than Skins and absolutely hilarious.

Yep, they are doing three mini movies and they will be coming out soon I believe.
