No, the moth landed on my head while I was washing it. How can I be showering with the bug still in my hair all the way through it?

Actually the Burqa is not an obligation for women in Islam, there was nothing said about it on the Qoran. It's just those extremist countries like Afghan and Saudi Arabia and Qatar ... Just saying

yeah it's a niqab. I used to have a friend whose mom wore one. adds to the ignorance of the reporter in the picture, hence the hilariously amazing comeback ![]() This is a good chart! I didn't know the name of the chador, but I knew a girl in high school that wore one. thanks for sharing! |

It's fake and we all know she started wearing it because of her religious believes or pressure from religious people in her environment. Not funny tbh. |

Regardless if it's fake or not, it shows just how little people know about Islam. and no, we don't all know that; a lot of women - even activists for women's rights - wear a niqab not because they're necessarily forced to, but because they believe in modesty (which is totally fine); to wear it in the west is seen as "bizarre" and is banned in some areas, but women still choose to do it because they believe in what it stands for. to assume that they're wearing it only because they're forced to is presumptuous. |

On this subject, actually, I really like some of those hijabs that I see people wearing. They're really gorgeous, like, the colours and embroidery are so vivid and detailed. I wish they would make scarves like that.

some of them really are! My crush had to wear one when she was traveling to enter a few of the historic mosques, and the one that I saw was beautiful ![]() hijabs are the most common attire that I see - if I see any attire at all - for muslim women; most of my muslim friends are shi'ite and aren't required or feel that they need to wear anything (except traditional dress to jamatkhana). |

Modesty? They can dress modest without that absurd attire. To me it seems like a man's opinion on modesty and they have to follow it. I'm sure some wear it because they want to be ''modest'' but it's probably because they got used to it already; You can get used to anything if you live with it long enough and seeing everyone around you wear one doesn't help one bit. Yes, it can be because of modesty reasons, but you can't deny that it's also heavily influenced by religion. Some people say that it's their culture, well of course it is! In some countries their culture is defined by religion! And we all know where most of these women that wear niqab's and burkas come from, not the most progressive countries when it comes to women's rights. The only person I ever asked about her hijab was a girl from my class and she told me that she had to wear it because her father and older brother told her to; she didn't have a choice. Perhaps I just don't get why women would voluntarily wear that so I jump to the conclusion that they are forced to wear it because of social pressure. Hope I don't insult anyone with my somewhat ignorant opinion on the matter. |

sometimes. I'm reluctant to because (and i'm about to sound hipstery with this word) mainstream feminism ignores a lot of people; if you aren't white or straight you don't really have a voice in the movement. but I do fundamentally believe in what it advocates. |

maybe you should read up personal accounts on why women would voluntarily wear traditional islamic head dress. idt one opinion is enough to account for everyone. |
