Did you delete any programs before it happened?

Ohh I used to have the same problem but what's difference was I deleted some of the programs and suddenly the resolution dissapeared and my screen seemed large and blurry like in safe mode. I went to the repair shop and the old man said it can be caused when you delete some programs in your pc and the resolution got deleted along. :-/ He installed a new graphic card for me and it's back to normal after that.

I'm not familiar with AMD cards, but if your graphics card is an NVidia model then you can see if the resolution can be adjusted from the Nvidia Control Panel. If it just ends up leading you to the Windows resolution changer in Control Panel, then there may be a driver issue.

You can try rolling back the driver for your graphics card if something went wrong with the update. This can be done two ways:

1. Website of your graphics card manufacturer (Intel, AMD, Nvidia, etc.), they normally post download links of older drivers in case of errors so you can try searching for the previous version.
2. In Device Manager (if you're on Windows, I'm afraid I'm not of help with Macs), you can locate it in Display Adapters. Check the Properties, Driver tab, and if 'Roll Back driver' isn't greyed out, this would be the quicker option. You can also use this to check for the latest version of your graphics card and download the right version from the manufacturers' website accordingly.

Hope it helped, Arti. ^_^

It's a NVidia but the rollback thing just freezes up the program. :dramaqueen:
And I can create a custom resolution that's 1440x900 but it's all blurry and it looks retarded and there're big black bars above and below the display thing.

Alright, that means Windows is messing with your GPU. Did you try downloading the driver from the NVidia website and installing it manually?

EDIT:
Another way would be Windows' recovery tool, System Restore. You can run one and it'll load your settings from a certain recovery point. Just restore from before you updated your GPU driver. It won't mess with your files, just roll back the Windows settings, driver-related stuff, etc.

:hmmm: This is really weird...
I asked around and it may be a case of cable connectivity issues between the monitor and the GPU. Best to have it checked at a service center all the same since it could be a hardware prolem (either from the monitor or the graphics card itself). Worst case scenario is that you may have to replace either of the components, I hope it doesn't come to that though.

Sorry I couldn't be of help, Arti, I keep on getting blue screens of death but not this. T_T
