The state did NOT prove their case (legally speaking) and the case was fed to the public by the media with racial bias which made the perception of it racially inclined. It shouldn't have been even when this is almost impossible in a place that always prefaces their news describing the person's "race" or skin color. The jury deliberated longer than most and they seemed to go thru the entire checklist they need to do to arrive to a decision and even requested clarifications, they did their due diligence. And taking the evidence presented, not some media fed version, arrived to their decision which is legally sound. People can try to argue manslaughter was a better option, the right option but voluntary was out of the question since the state definitely didn't prove intention. Involuntary was also not that applicable because 'disregard for human life while engaging in wanton or reckless behavior' could have been interpreted into GZ's actions but if you thought the actions taken before the shooting were warranted by the sequence of events then the only option is to acquit. The acquittal does not mean the jury is saying that from the evidence GZ had to shoot TM or that TM deserved to be shot but that from the evidence presented it was justified as in represents one of the possible outcomes of the encounter between them as it happened and it did not come about because of intent (malice) or 'wanton or reckless behavior'. Furthermore a social and racial movement was tried on the back of this case when it shouldn't have and frankly the prosecution tacked on a whole bunch of charges they had no change of proving. |

well I dont really know the economical and political bg in aus so Im gonna refrain myself from mentioning that. I drew my conclusion based on my experience as a person who have lived in two different countries. I said that I dont think it's fair to directly compare pricing from two different countries as both countries have completely different influential factors. If you say you pay too much for everything, you should come to Indonesia, price has increased more and more lately because the government decided to pull the plug on fuel support PLUS we have relatively small buying power too, with our weak currency and shitty economical/political atmosphere and whatnot. |

We're a pretty small market.. There isn't really economy of scale (economics talk for the more you produce the cheaper it is to produce), which is why the car manufacturers are pulling out. The food safety standards are kinda high too, which means more money spent on testing, decontaminating produce. And the very fact that a lot of our produce are locally sourced tells you that there is not much international competition, which means farmers are less competitive, less efficient. They're having a lot of trouble with the climate conditions though.. I feel for them. edit: wait wtf was my answer.. sorry for the irrelevance.. but basically i don't think the agriculture sector is doing all too well with the supermarket duopoly and the limited export opportunities |

It's okay bb. Maybe the winter winds are just being irritating? @anon discussing GZ + TM case: That was insightful. Cheers. Dayum, there's quite a big difference between the criminal laws of Australia and the US. I hadn't appreciated it until now. |

DA if you tell your GP that you're a student and about your financial situation the dermatologist might offer a cheaper consultation, but that really depends on your GP and the dermo etc. etc. bc my friend had really bad skin issues and couldn't afford it but her GP pulled a few strings. |
