lol hi Rexie, but it feels like an old boys club here, it's all the regular regs....
1) Ummm my friend is trying to get me into Kalafina.... but I don't know if I can handle multiple fandoms >< my favorite Kalafina song though is Gloria. Do you know any of their other songs that sound similar? 2) ....... this depends LOL I only know vaguely they're singers who have sung for Yuki Kajiura 3) Yes, we can, I'm okay with it, but a warning, it's been ages since I've been into ShizNat, I've sailed many ships.... I'm curious, it's been awhile since the Mai Hime/Otome series, how do you keep the fandom fresh? It's been years I think since there were any new material. (not counting fanart/fanfics). |

1) Yeah, I do, actually! Piano-based here: https://soundcloud.com/shirann/09-1 :: https://soundcloud.com/shirann/kugatsu :: http://www.4shared.com/mp3/hhHKK8Cq/02_-_Yane_no_Mukou_ni.html 2) Well if you want to know more, I can introduce you to the girls. There are just 3 of them... 3) It doesn't matter! And I mostly just make people watch it and then talk about it with them afterward. I rewatch it when other people do... And I like talking about the characters and other peoples' interpretations of them. |

Late, but x2 Didn't like the movies, didn't like the books. The movie, it was cheesy as hell. The series, I didn't like his writing style. |

Well, those two, haha. Brandon Sanderson is a huge favourite of mine right now, since he has a very palatable style and I think his characters are definitely solid. His world-building is genius - I love his ideas and concepts for each one of his books, and his plots are fantastic, imo. I'm eagerly anticipating the next book to Way of Kings. (He also has a gay character in Alloy of Law, called Ranette. She's not a main character, but she's an important side one!) Brent Weeks is also pretty good. You already know GoT, so... Are you open to Teen Fiction? I have quite a few books from my 12 year old times that are pretty good for their target audience! And what about a realistic kind of supernatural? I'm a pretty big fan of Darren Shan, and his Demonata saga has been one of my favourites for a while. Other than that, hmm. I tend towards historical fiction above all else, in honesty, so I could give you more recommendations there. I'm fond of you, too, Kiddo!

I'm really glad to share with you! Do you have any you'd like to recommend to me? I'm also open to all genres. Okay! I really like Simon Scarrow, so I'd really recommend him. I've also read quite a bit of Robert Harris, with Imperium and Lustrum being my favourite (although if you live near the States, they renamed Lustrum to Conspiriatum, or something, for some reason) and they cover Cicero's life as told by his personal slave. Harry Sidebottom's Warrior of Rome is also decent, if you can stomach his basic writing style. The Pillars of Rome (Jack Ludlow) is interesting, if not amazing, so I'd recommend checking that out as well. As for teen fiction, I quite like the Chronicles of Ancient Darkness, though I've not re-read them in... years, now! Series of Unfortunate Events was also my childhood, so I'd recommend those as well, lol. |
