That doesn't make sense unless Brazil is the only country where its easy to be admitted to and pass law school. Who the hell would go thru all that just because they are lost on what to study? LOL That's what Lit studies are for... |

??? it very much makes sense if you understand how the selective process works and the demographics regarding career choice / this universal exam. I'm not saying it's easy or hard, or that being a lawyer is bad. it's just that the exam is the same for every course, what changes is the score you have to attain, since you have to follow the others average scores. besides, you have no idea of how many law schools we have here. |

They do! I want to take the class a lot, but not if I have to read all of those by the 23rd, in addition to the books for all of my other units as well. What's the point in bloody taking the class if they're going to make me read everything I'm going to learn beforehand? I'm waiting for my mom to get home so we can go through the enrollment process together. |

Does sound easier, for most countries law school requires an extra special test and its hella hard, law and medicine being the hardest and there is no averaging with other people at all. |

@GG: seems like your law and admn is like our engineering over here - most people pick engineering when they only know 2 things:-they're good at math (more like good at calculations, really) -they want to make a lot of money It's the most switched out of major here, because most of the time people end up realizing that engineering isn't what they're passionate about. |

Arti fighting! I doubt they expect you to read all that crap, don't they give you a guideline of the route the course will take? That way you know what books are better to read first. Studying is great but sometimes they make it unnecessarily harder on students. |

Yeah, I'm going to assume it's sort of a "read if you can but it's not necessary" to make sure you can keep up. There's no way I can read about 40 books in two weeks, especially not if I'm to properly read them.

IKR? Then they find out the hell those two careers can be and start running but if they've already shelled out the thousands to study a good part of it they stay studying and end up being mediocre professionals because their number one concern is paying off their large student bill. To make money you will have to be successful and that's not so easy. Admin is also for people who are lost but want money since there's so much you can do with those degrees. |

it may be easy or not, depends on where you're going.. truth is, what makes a good student is the effort he/she puts on his/her studies, as we have been seeing great students coming from less prestigious universities over the past few years.. also, many times the quota is not entirely filled because they lack students who can reach the minimum scores there can be two models; Spoiler: click to toggle since there are so many new universities or courses sprouting everywhere, their scores are/can be still low; sometimes, it's easier to get in because the exam is not as hard (those are the paid universities, usually.) |

I hope we are not going through the dissing path / throwing shades on admin, it's a necessary profession ;p it's just that young kids, when they start studying at unis (here at the age of 17, I don't know how it works for you guys), know that they will surely need money, and admn has this efficient money maker aura. many students still don't know what they want, so.... it's the same thing with law; like Orange said, people switch a lot after two years or so @Orange I didn't know engineering was like that, there o_o |

you shouldn't ![]() I'm quite fond of international law myself work hard and you'll succeed, and, the most important, focus on what you see yourself as/ what you imagine yourself doing. it's easier said than done, but I guess I have at least a lil bit of credit to say this xP

Why? Its a great subject to study if you are apt for it and in most countries carries great prestige. Besides you can then make all those lawyer and law school jokes to impress the ladies...Not that you need it because you have an ample bosom. Spoiler: click to toggle

I find it interesting to learn about international selection processes. For some reason, I'd always assumed they'd all be similar up until recently.. We use a national ranking system, the higher you rank, the more options available to you (whether you want them or not). We also do something similar to the multiple choice/written exam in your country, which I find quite fun but it doesn't get taken into consideration because it's just a general aptitude test. Spoiler: click to toggle Arti Your post reminded me to check my reading list.. I have to read a 7pg paper

I like learning about them too, there's something about the way society chooses some individuals and excludes others ![]() what's sad about any of our selective processes is that you have to be good / well trained in all subjects, even if they are "not important" in your major.. the only difference is that some places will double the weight of what's the most important in your career choice ._. but you still have to know everything about everything lots of people end up not following the path they really want because they have problems with this or that subject, or thei struggle with ADD.. things like that. you selective process takes into account your whole curriculum, correct? also, you guys work with common law there, right? I don't know how the study of common law works, but, about ours, what I can tell you is that even if you enter the law school without knowing what you want, you surely will have to figure it out soon if you want to be able to finish the course /o\ I guess it's like this all around the globe, law is complex about admin and management, maybe the word itself in portuguese makes you think they are the same; I had never thought about this before |
