Agree about the sign of the cross. Don't get what is wrong about calling a girl princess..

Definitely written by Bertha.

What a fucktard, there is nothing wrong with princess and the cross sign, if that's their religion then so be it, parents teach their religion to their kids.

I agree with Windmill, this was a Bertha for sure, probably a really smelly one.

That's kinda adorbz though because it's your nana. And because I liked ALIENS. :)

One time I had to stop talking to my mother while we were discussing the Church's petition against legalised abortion because I found out she believed Noah's ark was legit. She also thought the fires that ravaged our state a few years back were retribution for our increasing irreligiosity. I just added religion to the list of things that we don't talk about.
She's 60+, she should know better than to believe in that crap.

lmfao wat omg
I wouldn't be able to talk to her about that either without laughing. How do you actually think that's legit?

But I'm guessing this doesn't inform her everyday decisions/opinions on moral issues because well aliens

I feel like it's something she feels obliged to believe (but doesn't actually) because she believes 3x0dus happened and if you pick and choose what is fact and what is fiction then there's really no integrity left in it. She was talking about how God punished the Egyptians and I asked her if she also thought Noah managed to round up two of every species we have today and she, reluctantly, said yes. It's strange what religion can do to reasonable people.

Yes, true! As long as it doesn't come up in conversation, it's like she never said it.

It's odd. Surely it's not that insulting to God to believe that the OT is allegorical or symbolic or even outdated, considering that he's supposed to be omnibenevolent. No benevolent being would do what the OT God had done, and there's such a stark difference between OT and NT that believing fully in OT is more contradictory than refusing to believe it's literal.

I feel the same way towards my mother, although I'm not too bothered by what she chooses to believe so long as she doesn't attempt to persuade me to sign another petition or talk about marriage equality.

Studying the OT really did destroy my concept of a merciful God. I was one of those Christians that read it allegorically but still, you're right, the two Ts are difficult to reconcile. Now, I suppose I believe that they were written by separate groups of men, many years apart and probably have more to do with legitimising control over social values/morals than with God. I don't think that it's a matter of insulting God by symbolic reading of the OT but one of authority, it's not up to my mother to decide that 3x0dus is factual but Genesis is not.

edit: Gays drooling over Sica's cleavage in main reminded me that I got caught, inadvertently, checking some girl's chest today. This is what I get for bragging about my ninja leering skillz  at least I'm not in SK.

I go to McDonald's regularly now because the one near my university is £1.70 for a large meal for some reason
China seems to have some sort of SPACE menu on which everything is cheap (and everything is on the menu). No McFlurry though... :bigcry:

You could just buy a couple of those breakfast hash brown patties and then buy a burger. Switcheroo and voila!

But I would have to put a shitton of tabasco sauce on it just to get some kind of flavor  i'd rather it already be seasoned to perfection b/c i'm lazy.

And you assume that an Indian McDee's seasoning is gonna be any better than an American one?

I'm suddenly reminded of this time where I was stranded in Calais and the only restaurant around was La Pataterie - you got a potato burger with a potato slice in it served with chips

By potato burger I mean the bread was replaced by potato

I've been listening to a lot Reg!na Sp3ktor recently. Helps me focus on working for some reason.

Eet is probably my fav song by her atm. It's really nice ^_^

@DZ: You don't understand my penchant for spicy food...and really, anywhere that isn't America has a better grip on spices than we do. We suck (except for you, Louisiana mmm). Potatoes are used so extensively in Indian cuisine, they're obvs gonna have a better idea on how to make it even better ^_^ (and what if it comes with chutney?? lickylick )

All we have as far as regional McD variety is the freakin McRib =_= gross.

America can't be the worst. Especially in Texas, with such a large Mexican influence. I do love Thai food for it's spice, though.

And I'll put sriracha on pretty much anything.
