Hey guys. I'm looking for this taeny fic where Taeyeon is an artist and Tiffany is her creation/statue which she falls in love with. It's a really unusually story but I think I liked it. Anybody knows what this fic is?

There were some hot parts but I don't like Taeyeon's character, I'll only comment on the sex part, because this has been bothering me in other fanfics too.

Clit stimulation is often described as a foreplay before the "real" thing and the "real" pleasure, namely penetration. But actually, for some women, the greatest pleasure comes from clit stimulation; the other type of orgasm is rarer and you don't need a p3nis/dildo for it because it's easier to stimulate the g-spot with fingers. Don't get me started on virginity and how they lose it with one finger or can't lose it with 3 fingers, because they're not long enough - both scenarios are bs. Authors just don't know what they're writing about.
I know some people will jump me for this, but there, fixed it.

Clit stimulation may be foreplay for some women and can find penetration their greatest pleasure; not only straight girls, but lesbians as well. And no, I'm not talking about myself.

I do agree with you about the way some authors write sexual scenes though, they could at least research a little bit.

Now I'm just gonna...bye.

The Life & Times by Nelly is up!

It's a continuation of FT. I guess the story isn't Taeny-centric anymore, but YoonHyun and Yulsic too.

I don't know what to expect about this, I guess we'll just have to wait.

this prob got asked a few pages back but do you guys look more for pairing or writing quality in your fic? i know people look for both, but for example: would you rather read a well-written fic for a pairing you don't ship or a lower-quality fic that focuses on a pairing you like?

i ask because i've found that the vast majority of the fic posted on ssf/aff is really disappointing and unreadable to me, and there's a lot more decent stuff on lj than i first thought but it doesn't tend to focus on the most popular pairings so it doesn't get recc'd here a lot... i'm kinda wondering why these two spheres of fandom are so different. not that there's not bad fic on lj, but i think the anon who posted here earlier is right that there are more snsd fic writers there who are good writers who just happened to get into soshi, as opposed to fans who happened to get into writing fanfic, and it makes a difference in quality. it's interesting

Pairing probably. I try to look for both. Up to date, I've only read like Jeti as opposed to the usual taeny/taengsic (for me). I have no idea, no matter how good the quality is, I can't really sit through reading an unusual pairing (seotae.. sootae..) but then if the writing is really bad, I can't sit through it either unless I am really really really desperate but even then, I'll rather be rereading fics I read before. ..... I don't know if I answered your qns lol (it's a mix of both with a bit more emphasis on pairing)

I don't ship any pairing so I'd go with quality at any given time.

Also about LJ vs SSF/AFF. As someone who was once quite active on LJ, I had noticed that LJ exclusive writers are the kind of people who are there to write. Apology in advance to all the writers here, but IMO SSF and AFF are mostly filled with writers who are there for the fandom. They write for their bias, their favorite pairing, for fellow shippers, and some, write for a mix of internet fame/ego trip. That last ones are the AWs that keep harassing their readers for comments, thumbs-ups and compliments.

LJ isn't a place for recognition. For one, it's quieter. I could write a bullcrap (in fact, I did), post it on SSF/AFF and got tens of praises saying how good my story is and how excellent I am as a writer (albeit short ones, but praises and comments nonetheless). Post the same thing on LJ and I'd be lucky to gain one comment. The people who are there are mostly other writers, critical people, and silent readers who probably feel no moral obligations to comment unless the story actually moves/compels them to comment, since it's a community that is less tight knit than SSF/AFF.

To me, that's the biggest difference between those places. The majority of LJ peeps write for the sake of writing.

Keep in mind that I didn't mean to paint everyone with the same broad brush. There are, of course, overlaps between the two. Good writers with good intentions on SSF/AFF, and bad writers with shallow intentions on LJ.

pairing first, my head canon is too strong and too influential

however I'm fairly strict on quality. I mostly agree with you on the AFF thing, I have only found two stories on AFF that are high enough quality in terms of writing/story for me to consider good.
It's hard to find stories on LJ in general (no central hub, poor search) so I think that plays a major role in why it's less popular.

I'd choose well-written fics any day. Well, I look at the pairing first before checking a fic out. But when the plot is promising, the pairing won't even matter. Like in WIWFTS. I don't read YoonYul/Jeti fics. I was reading it for the plot, not the pairing.

Anyway, any good Sunny/Taeyeon fics out there? I'm itching to read some dandyu lovin'. :P

I used to read fics only from pairings I liked. I started with JeTi because I got in during the height of that ship so I read stuff like 3B, MM and WIWFTS (those were the renowned JeTi fics at that time) then later I expanded and started exploring other ships, mostly Tiffany-ships.

Posted Image
Most of the time I read fics that feature Tiffany-ships (the big 3 TaeNy, JeTi, YulTi, I like others too like HyoFany and SooFany but they're really rare) as you can see in the diagram, that is how shipping is like for me, I put this together in Paint to explain shipping to my non-sone friends lolol if you're wondering why Taeyeon is all around her, I think I made this in 2011 when it was seriously the height of TaeNy... My "radar" (don't laugh) picks up interactions between Tiffany and the other members, basically through Fany I became a sone, I learned about the other members through her.

Since then, especially after WIWFTS, I started reading other pairings as well, YoonYul, YulSic, SooRi. I read the good and bad but these days cause I've gotten really busy in real-life I only read ones that are highly recommended + good writing quality.

And I agree with the point regarding the differences between LJ, SSF and AFF. The crowd for each site differs which is why the environment and fics differ as well. I remember when I started writing, I was wondering which of the 3 places I should make my home, SSF tend to be regarded as the mothership, it is the biggest place for sones to gather and so have the most soshi fics around, but it was too big and personally I don't like crowds in real-life so I looked towards LJ where it is smaller and quieter, I didn't really consider AFF because it shared space with other fandoms.

I notice a lot of comments about Don, we have recently become acquainted, through Twitter, yesterday to be honest, somehow she found me. I've read some of her stuff, her early stuff like Almost and I enjoyed reading it. I think her writing caters to a certain sort of reader (she has a huge following for a reason), she writes fast and is able to produce a lot of writing in very little time, it reminds me of mass paperback books. Like Danielle Steele or James Patterson. It's commercial and there's a formula to the story with variations here and there. It's like soap opera and it caters to the masses.

Readers' dissatisfaction lies in their expectations... perhaps try other writers? I'm not sure ranting about it would change anything, it feels good to rant but unless some brave soul takes the issue directly to her, I don't see anything changing.
