I can't believe I did this, but I went back and checked to see what really happened. You guys are totally exaggerating. Posts 1) Someone asks if N@na's mixed, she looks german. 2) A couple of anons agree 3) Someone [PictureAnon] posts predebut/no makeup pictures and says 'you're stupid if you think she's mixed, 100% Korean' 4) Anons start replying PictureAnon because her posts insinuates that being mixed is bad 5) People start blaming k-anons 6) Resident k-anon iban says it wasn't her, says that Koreans like mixed-Korean celebrities and says she was offended by Picture Anon's post. Someone else backs her post.
That's it. Nobody 'jumped' on you. One person did the "100% Korean" post and most people didn't agree with it and Iban left because she felt like she/k-anons were being accused.
bringing back predebut pics and calling people stupid over a simple question means jumping in my book.

da whatever do they have a problem with mixing or not?
still doesn't change the fact that both d0ngw00n and n@n@ are probably mixed, in the first case I'm 99% sure

Are you kidding me right now? Let's run through this again.
I went back to check because anons said that "some k-anons there acted like i committed a crime" and it gave me the impression that multiple people were bashing her and some other anon and saying they were offending Koreans or something.
One anon posted her pics and called that person stupid. That's all. Everyone else disliked that post and bashed that person. Then someone assumed that it was a k-anon. Then Iban says it wasn't her and that she didn't like that post either and didn't understand why people thought Koreans would be offending by someone asking if N@na was mixed.
You're pretending to be the victim when pretty much everyone agreed with you and didn't like that ONE anon.
To the other anon: as a mixed Korean, no. Generally speaking, Koreans don't really have a problem with me or race-mixing (white). They think it's cute when I speak Korean because I have a lisp (think of Tiffany when they first debuted) and they either seem to like me or seem indifferent to it. They do treat me kind of differently though, but not because they hate me but because they don't want to make assumptions about what I know or how I was raised.
And btw it's not a 'fact' unless you have proof the rest of us don't know about.

da I'm not saying it's a fact they are mixed, I said it's a fact that they LOOK mixed and that I'm almost sure in the first case with d0ngwoon

it wasn't about me or the other anons being victims no one is asking for an apology when someone calls you stupid over a question like that you assume it's a sensitive topic and it's not like iban is the only k anon in tlc.
lol i didn't say it was great, but three of them have better voices than the boy the other anon posted. like if you can't hear it than you seriously just must be blinded by your hate. like i said i'm not a fan so i'm not going to defend them anymore but really. at least be objective. [/quote]I can't tell 3x0 apart and have never paid attention to their singing. I just think this kid is way better-looking. I wasn't comparing their skill at all*, so I don't know what's going on here. You read what you read.
*That would be dumb because Kang SY wins all, anyway.
6.00 - you can hear her pronunciation is kind of weird.
To 'attacked'anon: Not really. If PictureAnon calls you stupid and everyone else attacks that person's post, I think it's safe to assume that PictureAnon just made a dumb post and you shouldn't take it to heart. Iban didn't like it because they assumed PictureAnon was a k-anon just because her post was offensive and was about mixed race. You guys were acting as if you were being bashed and going back and forth about how it made you think that meant the topic was sensitive. Guess it's hard to say that now that everyone can clearly see the conversation.

i went back to my original post here i said some k anon one singular flipped and was offended and i wasn't the only one who assumed that anon was korean and was offended and you can see that if you go back to the thread you posted.
Would be nice if any Korean anon venturing this thread could give us an explanation as to why being mixed is looked down upon because it sure seems that way.
That's not why the anons had that reaction. Somebody replied and posted a picture of N@na without make-up and used it as 'evidence' that N@na wasn't mixed. One anon didn't like that (something to do with monolids? idr), and another said something about being annoyed that people always assume that some atypical looking idols must be mixed.
The idea that all Koreans have only certain features and western/3x0tic looking idols are probably mixed but hiding it because omg Koreans are so racist is kind of insulting tbh. Not that I don't understand why people might think that (collectivist culture).
Overall, pretty people are well liked (ask Daniel Henney). The novelty of having a member with 3x0tic features is a reason why you'll see more celebrities with those features compared to the average population. Nobody really carea if you're mixed (white), as long as you're pretty (most idols are). The only reason I'd think that someone might hide being mixed is if they were half-japanese, but S1mon from D/\/\TN is.
da it's not about having 3x0tic features, it's about having europeans features d0ngw00n's nose, for example, it's obviously european n@n@'s face structure is westernized, among other things and like I said, I've heard that plenty of idols hide from the public the fact that they are mixed, probably because of backlash
in various films and such I saw big discussions about how koreans are very conservative when it comes to marrying their kids, they should marry other koreans, it preferable that way, and sometimes a lot of people are forced to by their parents to marry other koreans. it is known that they are not fond of mixing
- i saw many chinese share similar facial structure of nana. many japanese have natural hooked noses. besides, if you include indian into the pool, no trait but light colored hair and eyes is not asian. (many genes involve in eyelid shaping. some half caucasian/arabian have monolids.) - i will be shocked if korean offend the mixed since some famous celebs are complete aliens, 2 chinese in ms. a, 1 thai in two pm, 2 chinese in function etc. - last year, it was a news about poor se asian women were paid to marry korean men from agricultural villages. birth rate in korea was low and most korean girls didn't want to live in rural areas and work highly physically demanding careers. hence, wife importing business started. those women went to korea dreaming of k-drama male protagonist like husband but facing aggressive disrespecting husbands who repeatedly forced them to work exhausting tasks instead. with that and cultural/language difference, many fled back to their homelands. but korea is becoming more and more multiracial for sure.

Sorry, but all of you are anon so I can't tell which one on the other page is your's
"some k-anons there acted like i committed a crime" "me too when you have people getting offended like that you think oh this is a bad thing." "I remember! And it wasn't just one anon either.... " "yeah i wonder why they get offended about it, what's wrong with that? i couldn't even ask them they literally flipped on me." Not sure if one of these was written by you..
The whole assuming it was a k-anon was why Iban was pissed. One person blamed it on a k-anon, then a couple other went with it. Even now people are still convinced it was a k-anon because they assumed Koreans hate race mixing.
This is kind of childish tbh. You can keep doing mental gymnastics to prove to yourself that you didn't overreact. Everyone else can just read the posts if they want the truth.

yeah I've always noticed the way she speaks in korean is different from the rest, it's cute though I figured she has an accent

da I think people assumed it was korean because of the way she wrote and how the hell does iban know if that person was korean or not? she couldn't see her IP either

The person wrote: "LMAO you are stupid if you think Nana is mixed. [Pictures] 100% Korean"
I'm not really sure how that sounds like a k-anon. Iban didn't know if that person was or not, no one knew, but she didn't like how people assumed it was.
Iban: first of all, that wasn't me and why Koreans get offended by that? there are half-Korean celebrities and Koreans love them that anon who posted "LMAO you are stupid if you think Nana is mixed. 100% Korean", It's more offensive to me
GDee is fascinating and exasperating. I want to like him and his stuff, he's pretty uniquely individual in a group-driven industry but his stuff is just all over the damn place. Explore a sound and a genre, kid, and make it your own. You just seem like part K@nye, part L@dy G@ga, part Bl@ck Eyed Pe@s.

x2, He seems to really just try every style without nailing one. Although I actually really like this, like I can see this being in the soundtrack for a season of skins too bad it's over

^ That show is dead to me. I hate the writers so much.
okay i haven't watched series 7 yet but i've heard what happens to effy. ugh. and gen 3 was cute but of course they fucked it up in the 2nd half. they ruined the potential for another amazing lesbian storyline by making that scottish chick fall in love with the ugly ginger and destroying the other girl's character by making her insufferable sorry i know this belongs in chat thread but i had to.
Mmm i kinda like the song, yeah, but the video ruins it. I mean if i listen to it without the video i like it, with the video i don't like it LOL
Maybe because i really hate this kind of videos. But not because of GDr@ggy (he's a plus ).
As always i lol'd to every comment. Especially that one which say that GDr@ggy ruined the release of Galasoshi Supanova..i was like:
Jokes apart, everyone has their own taste,so i respect them.

Why did you choose my loved England? Why? He is in England right?
Last thing: I actually prefer K-pop signature videos. I'm bored of the typical (west) story videos,if not for ballads. So i will sincere when i'll say that i'm happy that the girls don't have this kind of MV. Probably i'm alone with this kind of thinking, but i don't care. I like to watch the choreographies and learn them. In fact, for example, i don't like t-@ra's videos.
Anyways i said the other day that i was waiting "shake the world"...and here it is!
Would be nice if any Korean anon venturing this thread could give us an explanation as to why being mixed is looked down upon because it sure seems that way.
younger generation are more openmind these days and half-Korean celebrities loved by Koreans but yes, many old generation and Xenophobics still look down upon now It's common to see foreigners and international marriage in Korea. but It was so rare to see foreigners in Korea before except us army Korea was so poor after war. so inevitably there was many prostitutes who sell their body to these us soldiers for living and feeding their kids in 1950~70. (I once read about CCM CEO Kim Kw@ng S00 interview, he said his mom was a pimp of these prostitutes) so, there was many mixed kids who abandoned from their us soldier father as well.
there is a movie about it. The Silver Stallion Will Never Come (1991) story is during war, small village girl who was raped by UN soldier became a these prostitute and you can find many other drama or movie or book about it
and see, this place never changed. thank you anon who make it clear. you know? It's not first time that some anons overreact in here and TLC. I'm really tired of it. whatever I don't want to waste my time again.
anyway do you watch memento mori? I didn't know back then, she and kryst@l really look similar. I should watch it again lol... I wish I can find No-Edited 3 hour director version
SA This is the only other thing I'll say about the topic. I know what it's like and I grew up knowing other people in the same situation, and it's kind of tiring to hear people make assumptions because of some idols. Some of the comments here have a grain of truth but are exaggerated because of ignorance. You can read netizen comments and watch tv shows/films but you haven't experienced it. But I guess you know more than someone who has.
The commentary about comebacks, female idols, etc. is interesting but if you're going to ask about something about the culture, do so with the intention of considering the answer.

Thank you for the answer. Wasn't trying to be rude, just a simple question. Of course I know not every Korean has this mindset.
I've been trying to find that 3 hour long version as well! Apparently that version makes it more obvious that the three leading ladies were in a love triangle.
