lol at the anon like you only think she wasn't in the wrong because you don't understand what went on properly :eyeroll:
Keep rolling your eyes and enjoying your status as a second class citizen. It's upsetting honestly that you'd rather focus on so called unprofessionalism and not the underlying reason behind why this has even become an issue.

I really cannot at people with the job excuse. The idol industry is litered with problems and the fact that you're just talking about it as if this should just be accepted and that's it is just ridiculous.

I'm floored that a lesbian forum is really defending that show. You'd think an oppressed group would actually have some empathy.
x2 This is a serious issue, How can people not see that she is shamed because she is a female showing anger towards older males trying to slut shame her. She is attacked because she is a female failing to be 'perfect' for the viewers and korean standards of professionalism.

Sure professionalism is important in this industry regardless of gender but some of you calling 'boo-hoo' when some of us want to show you the bigger picture and the huge gap between how male idols are treated and how female idols are treated just doesn't sit right with me.
wow you two did a terrible job at reading my comment because i wasn't saying h@ra was in the wrong i was rolling my eyes at the anon who kept making out we didn't see that she was in the wrong because we don't get the culture

you're stuck on variety that's why. i'm saying everything they do, whether it's on variety or twatter or IG, it's all judged by the public eye. anything that is on the internet, on camera in pictures and film will be judged.

anyway, i don't like him because he's not good at anything. he's an average rapper, dancer, singer at best.
da
I think he was the best performer on 2peeeem
compared to the others of course
I agree with this anon ^
+ he's actually a pretty good dancer, as far as idols go.

Atleast he didn't audition as a model and get promoted to a singer =\
da his singing and rapping are blah
his dancing is better but not as great as everyone makes out
his breaking is crap compared to the others in his crew. he stood out so much in twopeem cause the others aren't that good at anything lol

they were indifferent to geedee's weed smoking 'cos he was an artist but an idol is being chopped just for crying in a dissing program. an artist can do any wild thing but an idol can only be a smiling doll.
That's a different situation entirely. GeeD's decision to smoke weed is a personal one and is a self-contained action, whereas H@ra's tantrum was in a professional capacity, and therefore reflects appropriately on her professionalism.

Plus, smoking weed isn't really a "wild" thing, even if it does happen to be illegal. Idols drink alcohol in their spare time and that's much the same thing.
da cr0wn j got arrested and nearly went to jail in korea for smoking weed in america
it's not considered the same as drinking in korea ygee lied about what happened with geedee

Ahh, so it's against the law? Personal feelings about whether or not it should be illegal aside, I still don't see it as the same thing. Smoking weed is supposed to be a personal and private decision, much like dating is, and getting caught doesn't make it any less so. It's a stupid decision, considering his career, but still a private one.

If GeeD had been stoned on a variety show, that's a different story, but since he did it in his own free time, outside of working hours, it's still a self-contained action. Idols should be expected to be mindful of the public eye while they're in a professional capacity, but I don't think that extends to things they think they do in private, although they should also expect themselves to be caught considering the public nature of their lives.

oh I know them. they live in Korea but can't speak Korean and used rising sun flag?

I just saw first part. they said about mom joke

It's not because of sarcasm. you should never joke or bring about parents . It can be really offensive to Koreans
they can speak korean, they did some interviews with idols too
they used to teach english, now I don't what they do
lol no, they speak konglish
i think most of their friends are other foreigners, so they don't feel the need to learn to speak Korean properly
they're not really 'integrated' into Korea, they still live in their own foreigner bubble

yeah just like almost English teachers in Korea. they can't speak korean. don't even try to learn it.

It's so annoying when people who live in foreign country for some years act like they know everything about that country

look at them, they don't even understand joking about someone's parents is so bad in Korea
and saying like Korean don't like sarcasm -_-

if someone's going to use their videos as evidence of some claim about a culture, i think it's necessary for people who know the language and culture to inform them of how unreliable those videos are.

i think it's also natural to feel annoyed when someone claims to know more than they truly do about something, and pass on faulty knowledge to people who might not know to not trust them as experts on the topic.

i know what she meant by the video. "cry me a river", meaning she thought the other anon was complaining about something petty.

a little OT, S.K. is one country I wouldn't like to live in, frankly I think pretty much evey country in Asia or in the east
not racist or anything, I can admire some aspects of their culture and in other countries as well, but I think it's always a huge cultural shock whenever someone from western culture tries to fit in in the east

the way we handle things seem to be very much different along with our way of thinking. I can't find anything similar

I rather admire the good aspects from a distance
I would visit if I had the chance, but not settle in

i think that's pretty normal.
that's why i have a lot of respect for tiffany (and other foreign idols), who left their home country and learned a language and culture different from the ones they were raised in.
it takes an open mind, humility and thick skin.

Not sure if it's just one anon (even though the writing style is always very similar) but she always makes the same posts about us not getting Korean culture so we shouldn't have our opinion ready. It's always the same shit when we criticize anything that is connected to the korean culture. Sure, there are some aspect of the culture that we don't understand but that does't mean that we are always in the wrong. Every country has their shitty side and if people feel like expressing their opinion on that, let them!

And she also started trashing foreign teacher while there is absolutely no reason for that. These people are educating the Korean students to become better at a foreign language, they shouldn't be hated on. I agree that foreigners should try to adjust, but the country they live in can sometimes also try and adjust to the foreigners. (I live in The Netherlands and we have a ton of immigrants from different cultures so it's not like I don't understand the situation)

And Simon and Martina don't only have foreign friends, they also stated several times that they have Korean friends - so please stop acting all ignorant towards them because that's the exact same thing you like to claim that we do towards you culture. They also usually say before their videos on in the comment section that they aren't always 100% correct so everything should be taken with a grain of salt.

And i'm still thankful for that.

I think people should be able to express their opinions and it's not like everyone can agree most of the time. It's good that foreign anons' give their side of the story when it comes to Korean culture because it educated us about foreign cultures, however, that doesn't mean that whoever lives in the country where that culture belongs to is always right. There is a thing called nationalism and some Korean anons sure act chauvinistic when one small bad thing is said about their country.
