I shouldn't expect them to know about slavery and oppression so if they do something like blackface I should understand?
You should understand why they don't already know, but you should also educate them as to why it's offensive so that they know for the future and hopefully avoid repeating their mistake.
http://omonatheydidnt.livejournal.com/tag/cultural%20insensitivity%20%2F%20racism
The intention of the letter is good, but the content is condescending and empty.

I don't know how to contact the writer, but to make it more effective they should mention the history of blackface and the history of oppression of black people. All this letter says is: "We're fed up with Korean entertainers and their use of blackface. We like parts of k-entertainment, but you guys have no excuse to be ignorant." It comes off as kind of childish. Giving it historical context will give it more weight and convince more people.
IA the letter sounds really condescending
it's their country you can't demand anything wtf
Just explain things and say why it's offensive

oh... so, now, it's all making sense. prematurely blamed the DJ for what was Chr1s Br0wn's doing.

IDC if you like them or not, but mad props to N4 for picking it up and 3unjung for not engaging in a mass murder, even though she looked like she was about to (and I love her even more for it).
my adsl sucks,i can't watch the video.

can you tell me what happen in the video?? pls :$
of course, dear anon. chr1s br0wn basically stopped n4's performance mid-way so he could promote his next single and give some stuff away. the girls looked super pissed of (3unjung especially.. there was some talking, bunch of "whatevers" and waving hands around...) at which point br0wn "corrected" himself saying he's gonna give stuff away AFTER "the girls" finish their set. they continued performing like effin pros after that. there was, btw, a second performance where they got to do their entire song without br0wn interfering.

idc, i love them. the end.

They don't have an excuse to be ignorant, though, when a simple google search could've provided all the information they needed of how incredibly inappropriate blackface is.

But I do agree that telling someone what to do will never be as effective as persuading them to do it. A command only breeds defensiveness.

It looks more condescending because they used informal Korean

I think It sounds less condescending if they use formal Korean

tbh idk if fast internet connectivity has that much to do with it. most countries are connected these days even in some of the poorest countries. i think the problem is sk and most of asia don't care about "black" (i actually dislike using that word but couldn't find a better one) issues. there aren't that many african migrants in asia and black history is not something most people would be googling randomly. and (i hope i don't get stoned) but i think asian culture is quite racist. and i say this as an asian. it's done so casually, "i'm not a racist but black people are uneducated/uncivilised". and i'm not saying everyone in asia is a racist, i'm just saying that, traditonally, they've been underexposed and don't really have much incentive to learn about black culture/history. i honestly know next to nothing about african migrant history myself even though this information would be readily available to me. you don't have time to learn about every culture under the sun and it's not of particular interest to me but, that said, i'm not going to make racist comments even though i'm ashamed to admit that i have in the past because that's how i was brought up.

School 2013. I heard that the drama has no couples, but it's about friendship. The main friendship is about two fuys. Hyoyoung and the other actress (miho from love rain) are the second friendship, I'm guessing.

00:30 made me LOL so hard. I thought there weren't that many fangirls but all of a sudden hundreds of them ran towards the line like their life depended on it.

Don't think she should have uploaded the video, people seem really anal about being filmed in Korea.

yes, but every single fucking thing about k-pop is taken from black culture. basically, african-americans created the music we know today. they created rock n roll, hip hop, r&b and all those 'cool' dance moves all shitheads try to emulate
what, k-pop think they invented rapping?
they blatantly steal things from black culture and have no respect for black people

those big bong assholes are the greatest example of that

Do you know if anyone has ever called the police on the saesangs? And if yes, do you know what happened, do they go to jail or get a restraining order or something? I'm curious about this.

the idols probably don't call the police on them because then the sasaengs would spill all their little dirty secrets
but I heard sasaengs also harass random people, so idk why those people don't call the police

I should correct my word.
I mean invasion portrait rights is civil case. if they think that it is an invasion of privacy or defamation of character
they can sue them

and now stalking(just watch and following too) can do judicial action.
if they keep sending something bad through SNS or such, they should be punished more by information network law

Lol ok, now this is ridiculous.
This isn't even about being treated fairly anymore. You think people should bow down to another race of people?
If you're typing English on a computer, you should bow down to white people?
Just because I'm korean doesn't mean I have anything to do with Samsung, should I tell everyone who uses their products to bow down to me?
Seriously.

You think people just get ideas and everything they produce is original? No, when it comes to art/science you learn by studying those who came before you. What you produce is a combination of your work and influence from what you were taught/trained. Yes, a lot of modern Kpop is influenced by western pop and black people had a huge influence in the development of western pop music. But guess what? People came before them. They learned from someone who came before them. No respect for black people in kpop? Ask them who their favorite foreign artists are. GD himself credits a black rap group for his interest in music. Because a handful (I can only think of Seungri/Kikwang/and some SJ members) of idols said/did racist things the 70-80 (at least) other idols in the industry are racist?

You're making as big a generalization as those racist idols did.
B-but being reasonable requires thought.. Get over yourself.
I'm all for equal treatment and positive representation of black people in Asia, but bowing down to them? Lol, I'm done with this topic.

LOL I think you took that too literally
With bow down I mean have enormous respect, not actually bow down lol

Yes, they love the music but make fun of the people behind it
also, isn't GD also another racist? he was one of those who did the blackface and used the word "nigga". I saw on Omona
