flash video problem It's definitely a strange behavior and I suspect it's just iOS webkit being a special snowflake. I'll be looking into fixing it tonight but for now I have turned video resizing off to save you frustration. I'm sorry for caused inconvenience, girls. |

I've applied a fix that I believe should do for now. At least it appears to work in Chrome, Safari, Firefox, iOS Safari and Chrome. Re-sizing is back now. If it causes any more problems, please let me know. Thanks for your patience -) |

Is there a way to permanently get rid of the announcement, or is the only option to keep minimising every time I refresh or change pages? |

I don't think there's a way of getting rid of the announcement. That's the minimizing button for. But I will talk to Xyz about it, to see if we can come up with other options. Perhaps make it smaller. |

^ Yeah, it just seems impractical to keep having to do it every time there's a new page. It's not that a huge deal, though, I'd just really prefer a way for it to go back to what I'm used to seeing. |

I'm trying to use in-built features of the forum as much as possible as extending it with external scripts adds extra load and makes forum perform worse. Unfortunately making forum remember the state of Collapse/Expand box does require a sacrifice that in my opinion is simply not worth it. So I've disabled that collapse button entirely. We've got rid of a lot of letters from up there since the moment it was introduced. Hope it made things more bearable. The way human brain works will make most of us blind to it in no time anyway. It will get attention again when something changes there but that's the point of this box. We've noticed that amount of posts on a page we have now is quite big (35 compared to default 10). Since most of our posts are full of images, gifs and videos, it's quite a lot to load in one go. What would you, girls, say if we tried changing it to, let's say, 20? It would shift the amount of pages all threads currently have but the load times should go down, especially on slower connections and mobile devices. If you have an opinion on this, please voice it out here in following few days. |

I like 35, every Zeta forum I've ever gone too has it (or a number near it), it's a good number I think. Besides I think there is a danger in starting to change everything in the name of allegedly making things better. For whom? Users of mobile devices? Slow connections? For them mainly did we change image display and the quoting system. What more needs to change? What more changes in their name? Why is this forum catering to them so much like nothing of what was before for so long is good enough? Also I wouldn't say most of the posts are full of images or videos either, when there is an event images increase but most of time it's word after word. Image posting as whole has gone down drastically since our TLC days. Many forums I've been to pages are 50 or 60 posts per page and truly content heavy but here suddenly 35 is a lot. Can some pages load slower because of images? Sure but mostly when there are BIG gifs and not just one but several different big gifs like it happened recently but this actually uncommon, very uncommon. |

Not to play your opinion down, it's as valid as any other, just pointing out that you haven't sacrificed anything for the sake of mobile users. If you like the way things were, old theme is very much there with full-size images and even 1 extra level of quotes from what we had before. It's generally a good and human-like habit to consider the interests of those who has it average or worse. Especially when there is very few to lose for the ones who has it better. I honestly don't see a big sacrifice in having few posts less on the page. 20 is not a small number. And we must be visiting different forums. This one is pretty much an image-board compared to most forums I ever frequented. Images to text ratio here is very high. SNSD are hot girls, it's only natural. I'm arguing your point but not your opinion. It definitely will count just like any other opinion in this thread. |

20 posts is a decent number. I'm ambivalent myself, but it's an innocuous change that might help my sputtering internet connection. |

My point is I don't see the name for change, sucky connections or not, and I am one with a horrid connection myself. HORRID. Yeah, 20 is "good" but so is 30 or 35, and if 20 why not 15 or 10? Make it even easier on everyone because suddenly 35 is too much when we were with that for years more than fine. I think it's a slippery slope, all the changes. Starts with one thing and keeps changing more and more. Images resized, when that happened without our input it was a shitstorm. Then videos where also resized without our input and seems some had problems with the site itself. Now it's changing the page numbers, what's next? Very slippery slope I think. I am not uncaring to the "plight" of mobile users or users with sucky connections but by the Holy Trinity and Soofany, if you use a mobile device or have a slow connection you must understand and accept the limits you will have with loading content and not expect the world to have to bend over backwards to make it all better for you. |

So far you're the only one complaining on this idea. Changes are worth making when you see the long term benefit. We've had tons of those, the new theme created a shitstorm, but ppl adapted and took a stand, to use it or not. Some even were thankful! Now adding the video/image resize, how can that affect you if not in a good way? 20 posts per page sounds reasonable and like Ihla and orange, I also agree. ----------- babycakes Thank you! It was quite the hard work for Ihla, she worked hard in it also orangebot who helped her with the english technicalities

So? I hope you put it to a vote and not make the change just because all the mods/admin like it and no one else in the site bothered to say anything for yay or nay. Maybe no one is saying anything because it looks like a moot point since all the mods/admin are for it so looks you'll just change it in the end no matter what we say. ¯\_(ツ)_/¯ |

If we placed the idea on the forum discussions thread it's because it needs to be discussed. As far as I'm concerned this is not the announcements thread, where you place news/ decisions that already took place. ------- Lol, I love it that you of all ppl is always defending democracy, freedom and what not, not to say complaining for the sake of complaining... It's very interesting and contradictory, don't you think?

More than likely, the reason other anons aren't vocal about the issue is because they never bother to check this thread in the first place; we're going to keep the issue here for awhile until others decide to trickle in. we obviously value more opinions on it, since it's already been a day or so and no changes have been made. Also it's really presumptuous to speak for all anons, considering your track record with them isn't too great. |

I think 20 pages would be great for slower connections. I would probably be for it if it came to a vote. Possible cons: The thread might move too fast. I've seen people miss posts just one or two pages back because the board moved too fast so images or questions end up getting reposted. This will be amplified with a 20 post page. Which would end up causing more repitition of posts and images which could be counter productive to saving bandwidth for slow connections. More pages will create the that perception the thread has moved a lot more for people who only visit every few days and could discourage page catching because it'll seem like too much to go through (even after there's been time to adjust, people have been browsing tlc/sgsd for a long time so I think 20 pages will still have the impression of 20 pages in their heads) |
