It's still amusing to me how some of you want mods to hate each other. It would not only make it more difficult for the mods, it would make things messy for everyone here. In such situation mods would either each do their own thing and you'll never know which one you'll get to deal with your situation and what to expect, or they would end up doing nothing because disability to agree on anything would paralyze them. To function properly staff team needs at least basic ability to cooperate and reasonable amount of respect and trust for each other. This is pretty much what you have now. You have people with different backgrounds, personalities and opinions who has just enough respect for each other to try finding points they can meet at. The importance of this 'clique' thing is highly exaggerated. I will not say it does not exist, as most older regs do know each other reasonably well by now, but we are talking dozens of people brought together by chance. Knowing does not equal strong friendship let alone magically getting same opinions on everything. I'm sure most of you know a lot of people on this forum yet haven't lost ability to see things your own way. |

In the case of Arti's and Orange's mod elections; there was a poll made for them each time. In Arti's case, there were other two people who were considered (Frost and GuaranaGirl) and Frost came up as the winner and in Orange's case, since she was the only one who volunteered, the poll we made had the no and yes options and obviously, the majority voted yes, it's as simple as that. Is there a group of people here that are closer/friendlier to each other? Sure there is, and more than one in fact, but I don't see how that is an issue. Are we not allowed to befriend each other? We have common interests so of course we like to talk to each other and this is made easier since in a way, registered users have easier means to comunicate with each other and are easily recognizable, but the clique you mention is quite exaggerated.
You make it sound like whatever notion one of us comes up with, the others will support it 100%, but you'd be surprised at how much we disagree with each other. We're different people, with different opinons, but like Xyz said, we respect each other enough to see each other's different points of view and meet at a middle ground. Lastly, I left out the power tripping allegation because I firmly believe we're not abusing our mod capabilities (not sure if this is the right word, by the way, excuse my basic English skills). |

I love that picture! I agree with you Ihla, we could have some sort of campaign and encourage ppl to post their take on that picture or banner, so we can have more options and make a poll about it. |

"In such situation mods would either each do their own thing and you'll never know which one you'll get to deal with your situation and what to expect," It's already like that. "or they would end up doing nothing because disability to agree on anything would paralyze them." You mean the possibility that your camp will encounter more difficulties trying to achieve what you're trying to achieve because the other camp also wants what's good for the forum but decides to achieve that with a different approach than yours, which you disagree with. It sounds like the only problem is you want to do what you want to do and you can't imagine compromising with people who don't want to do what you want to do. And in any case, the issues you disagree with can be voted on, so every quagmire you will encounter is only temporary. "This is pretty much what you have now. I'm sure most of you know a lot of people on this forum yet haven't lost ability to see things your own way." These are all your personal opinions. You see yourself as being more functional than you really are with your behind-curtain dealings. It's not like everybody here has witnessed or taken part in those, for one. |

What are you talking about? Why are you attempting to twist her words? It's imperative we reach a middle ground on almost every issue because it's rare that we each agree completely with one another's perspective and shit needs to get done; there needs to be a certain cohesiveness to making decisions. Management of the forum is not one person's sole responsibility, it takes a team do it and you'd have to be overlooking some important group dynamics to actually think that we "can't imagine compromising with people who don't want to do what you want to do"; it's an integral part of forum management and operation. It's something obvious and made well aware of when one signs on as a mod/admin. Like someone said earlier, we filter out useless solutions that are easily taken apart before we bring them here; ultimately, decisions for issues are voted on (save for some like security or troll banning etc I think), it's just that the choices are narrowed. And it's not as if we aren't open to taking suggestions for solutions, you only need to pagecatch this very thread to see that. |

Hai gays, so since some have shown interest in having a new banner with the GS concept pics, we thought it would a good idea to invite users to make their own and then have a poll to choose the best one out of them.
As a final note, we decided to make things a bit more interesting (and competitive) by giving away a prize to the winner.
Special thanks to Windmill for her collaboration. |

So you can be cohesive with people who think differently from you, have different perspectives and values, and want to do things differently from you,... but you simply don't want to work with anybody you don't like. Is that where we're going with this? You're all like, so against the idea of somebody outside your circle being a mod. It's so ridiculous. It's not even a huge issue right now because nobody wants a new mod, but it's almost like you're just trying to stomp out the issue, nip it at the bud |

No lol how did you even arrive at that conclusion based on what I said?
That's your personal opinion. You see us as some kind of deceptive bunch willfully engaging in cronyism as if we have some sort of agenda for this forum. It's a very tired allegation, and it's already been explained to you how both Frost and I became elected. Seems like now you're just reaching for another bandwagon accusation to throw our way because you've run out of actual points to make. That's fine though, you're allowed to waste your own time. |

Yes. No. No. If Oranjita hadn't been* chosen, we would've made another poll to "recruit" another mod because we needed the help (still do), and we would work with that person the same way we do now. |

"No lol how did you even arrive at that conclusion based on what I said?" Deductive reasoning skills. I mean, if you say you're so good at being cohesive with each other (and you're all diverse people), why can't you be cohesive with this unknown variable (who is also somebody diverse with his/her own opinions)? It seems like, you're logically contradicting yourself. "Seems like now you're just reaching for another bandwagon accusation to throw our way because you've run out of actual points to make. That's fine though, you're allowed to waste your own time." How did you arrive at that conclusion from what I said? |

Omg, you must be daft if you think that 1 admin would be able to handle this forum on her own - technical/logistical problems, massive troll invasions, wank and not to mention the fact that all of these things can be occurring simultaneously as well as at a time difficult for you to stay awake...it's damn well near impossible to handle all on your own; In practicality, you need a few other mods/admins to bounce ideas off of one another when it comes to these major areas of management. @Ihla: I know, you think this would be as obvious as the grass is green, but I guess not. |
