First times are awkward, but that's okay. Mine was. But it happened in the back of an el Camino so that's always a fun story to tell lol |

I try not to fall into ruts and I'm not a big fan of being categorized. I do find women physically attractive. I'm a super private person, so people know very few about me in general. I quite likely won't be this thread's biggest poster, sorry

Same case for me though mine is more complicated I'll probably wouldn't be able to tell them forever, my family is very religious...so I couldn't really, I'll probably be abandon if I will out myself |

My first (and so far only) time was with a guy. He was really nice, asked me if I was sure. It was awkward and didn't go as planned, I guess. I feel like I'd be so much more awkward and shy with a girl.

My brother makes jokes at my expense as well, but I know he doesn't mean it. Was in a call with Unzip when he came in drunk from an evening out and that was so embarrassing. That doesn't sound good, have you told your friend that it bothers you? Me too.

It's nice that your siblings know and are supportive No, and it's not just that one friend. You'd think if someone made a joke and you made sure to look wholly unamused that they'd get it's not that funny, and stop it (fortunately it doesn't happen often. I don't really want to bring it up in case I look like a ~sensitive gay).. And I don't even mind gay jokes where appropriate (like if I was wearing plaid, which I don't own) but it's literally just "babycakes is gay " Ironically, most of them think I'm joking, that I'm, at most, bicurious. edit: Rexie come back bb (I know, I'm still sorry for voting for the guy that's going to make that difficult for you..)

Sensitive gay? You shouldn't be afraid to perceived as that, your friends have to understand that it hurts. You should just get angry for once and tell them that it really hurts you, they will understand if they are really your friend. |

It's okay most of the time, when I'm just with one of them, but when these two "guy-humour" mates are together and tag-teaming, that's when I want to punch their lights out. It's been better lately (admittedly haven't seen both of them at one time) and hopefully I won't have to blow my fuse. Honestly, I have a very high tolerance threshold.. They actually just think it's all in good fun (I know they're milking it because they rarely have anything on me), I don't think they mean any harm but it's definitely not something I find funny. It's esp. not funny when I found out that one of them doesn't believe I'm gay at all and just.. you can't have it both ways, you can't make fun of me and not believe me..

Most memorable coming out experience was to my older brother. I was like...14? 15? idr. Anyway, he was taking me to soccer practice and I was like "hey, I have to tell you something..." he got kind of worried and was like, "ARE YOU PREGNANT??" ![]() Then I told him and I felt really bad like I disappointed him but he was like, "have you even met my best friend?". His best friend is the butchiest of butch lesbians btw. he's the only family member i've told and i'm hoping it stays that way.

I told my sister while crying, it was pretty emotional because it was my first coming out and I was afraid she would be angry. She accepted it right away and told me that all that matters to her is my happiness. I told my brother after watching an episode of OITNB. My mother made some terrible homophobic comment and I told my brother that I really hate it when she does that. He then said ''That's gay!'' and then I said ''Well, so am I'', to which he replied ''no....'' and then I said ''Yes!'' he accepted it right away as well and started making some innocent jokes like calling me Ellen. I told him to call me Portia, but he didn't knew who that was.

I came out over a period of about a year, bit by bit, to those I'm closest to. I told my brother first, he's my best friend, and he took it well. Then after I went back to school I told my closest friends (including my best friend from high school) and they were supportive. Then I told my dad, who was so unbelievably cool about it that I get the warm fuzzies remembering it. The hard part came with my mom and my extended family. Mom got really emotional and wouldn't talk to me for like a month. After about six months she started asking questions and making small steps, and now she's much more comfortable with it (but not totally okay yet). At the beginning of the summer the news had finally filtered to my extended family, most of whom were blasé about it, but some were supportive. But my Dad's side of the family comes from a small town, they're very conservative, and very religious. They didn't take it well. When we went to a family reunion I basically got the cold shoulder from everyone and a few people made some not-so-nice comments towards me. I've never seen my Dad so mad in my life, and he's the most type B person I've ever met. So we left the reunion, Dad got a fancy hotel suite, and we got drunk, ordered room service, and watched baseball instead of going to the family dinner. He still hasn't forgiven them. |

I used to stare after girls and just watching them but trying to do it secretly - even at that age, I guess I knew it wasn't something normal(?). I distinctly remember favouring the young female teachers that were nice and pretty since kindergarten, and I've always felt that attractive pull towards some girls in my elementary school classes and onwards. Middle school and early high school was my 'confusion' period, where I had a crush on one of my best friends, and then my teacher...and this whole period where I tried to convince myself I was crazy about boys.
Eventually, I'd say between the age of 15 or so, I figured out and finally accepted to myself that I liked girls.

haha
