"Do you ever wonder about how as we get older the different derections our lives go in

will ever, you know change us?" Kyle asked, looking at Stan for a moment, shifting his

weight from one foot to another as the other boy unlocked the front door to his house.

"I don't understand what you mean. Of course we'll change as we go through different

phases of our lives. That's a basic fact of life."

"Yeah I know that. But even as we grow and have even more life changing expereinces,

will we still be the same basic people?"

"Oh please, I was the one who had to be emotionally fucked over to learn that lesson.

Things will never change. Ever." Through creeping bouts of cynicsism occasionally

stabbed through with moments of selfishness and hypocricy, Stan vowed to at least

keep his blunt edge. It would most likely slip out of grasp as well but for the love of god

sometimes bluntess was all people had left.

"Hey, Stan. Your mother hasn't come home yet, has she?"

"No, dad. She's not coming home for another hour. Like every weekday ever." Stan

sighed and placed his head against the cool surface of the refridgerator.

"Okay, good. I have a surprise for her!"

"Dude, why did your dad have his face covered?"

"I don't know, Kyle. I'm sure we'll find out in at least the next half hour." Stan could

start smacking his head, slowly at first then faster and faster against the refridgerator,

to try and draw out some of his frustration, but he was more likely to give himself brain

damage than actually accomplish something. "Did you want something to eat?"

"Yes! God, this is why I love coming to your house for dinner."

"Stan stepped away from the fridge, gesturing to it with a bit of florish. "Please, help

yourself to anything, if, you don't ask any more mind probing questions. I'm already

bracing myself for the next ten to thirty minutes."

"Deal." Kyle gave a little smile as he yanked open the fridge to the bounty inside. "You

don't know how much I miss real food. My mom's been really strict with super healthy

Kosher food. Your house always has snacky cakes and moon pies Cartman's does with

none of the pain of dealing with him."

"Also I wouldn't try to poison you." Stan's ears perked up for any sounds of chaos coming

from wherever his dad was. Water running in the bathroom, innocent enough. Yeah

right. "So what did you want to eat?"

Kyle considered his options before grabbing a gallon of milk. "You guys have chocolate

syrup, right?"

"Yeah but we also have ice cream if you wanted a sundae or something."

"No way dude. I can't remember the last time I had a decent glass of chocolate milk. My

mom's been trying to fake it with that pre mixed soy milk shit. She took the fun of adding

the syrup yourself until it's just right, then adding a bit more."

Stan climbed up on the counter to grab a couple of glasses."It's probably your mom's sloe

purpose to take the main fun out of any activity." Stan grimaced at how that probably

sounded if Kyle was trying to avoid Cartman. "No offense."

"None taken.

You had a good fic right there. Witty remarks on Stan's part. Humorous lampshade-filled dialogue is really your thing. Right. ...Was really your thing...
