Improving the server is something I'm constantly trying to do. As per the announcement, I need your ideas, and comments so I can get a better feel for what the players want. Follow this format, and I'll reply as often as possible. Suggestion: How it will help RP in the long term: Any possible negative to this idea: Time-Frame of when you'd like to see it implemented: |

One thing you could do is have different eras per wipe, but all the wipes being within the same timeline, one after another. Kinda themed, with the events and whatnot to reflect the era. For example, First Wipe, first era could be a "medieval" period. As such technology past swords and armor and such is locked. Possible event-type things would be having different kingdoms clashing, warring for territory. Second Wipe, second era, could be kinda 1950s-1990's type of thing, with guns and whatnot. Gang wars, nuclear warfare, etc. Third Wipe, third era, space age, alien invasions, etc etc. To link them up, you could have, within each wipe, at least two MAJOR factions, and at the end of a wipe, have some type of Finale event, where one would triumph over the other. While whatever faction is enjoying the spoils and the wipe is winding down, have event admins preparing the map for the next wipe; showing the results. For example, Good Guys of the Kingdom of Justice are the "good" major faction during the First Era. Evil Overlords of Doom are the "evil" major faction of same era. Towards the end of the wipe the Finale event has one finally beating the other once and for all. In this case, evil wins. As such, the map of the Second Era (the second wipe) could be mostly lava and molten rock; desolate and hopeless type of place, since evil has been ruling for so long. Between each wipe could be 200-500 years ICly so you can establish a prologue talking about what the baddies or goodies did after they won their war after the Finale of the last wipe. Just throwing that out there. It would take significant planning though, as this type of thing will last several wipes. Edited by Kuruoshi, Aug 20 2012, 05:39 PM.

Suggestion: The Legendary Orbs (AKA Dragon Balls) How it will help RP in the long term: It would be perfect during a big war, the legend would spread to the ears of both sides. BUT!!!! The creator of the orbs would hide the balls somewhere SAFE. Their location would only be known by the creator and the admins. Any possible negative to this idea: An extreamly evil being wishing for imortality. Like a Frieza wannabe. =P Time-Frame of when you'd like to see it implemented: Somewhere from the begining of the wipe to the end. That is if the creator doesn't DIE before then. XD |

I already tried giving the players a long wipe event, Basicly they all came to the area when it was Just getting built and they all assumed it was the "Finished product" before killing me. Player base isnt getting smarter. |

This is because there are new admins running the show in those areas (events and the story page.) |

Sad thing about that is people expect to be rewarded for typing up story entries, and personally, I feel that's just another attempt at powergaming. However, there are some players who actively try to help me keep the story page up to date. But still, most fall under the "Do I get a reward? If not, fuck you." category. |

Yup :( It's a sad truth, that to keep it going you have to have ridiculous rewards. (Mainly, any reward above a very small thing is ridiculous) |

I'm not so sure about high rewards. When Arch's server tweaked the conversions, the points given to players are almost the same as a full reward session. I don't think people have taken advantage of the reward for story system. In my opinion, the story window shouldn't be bloated with novel-level writing. It needs the concrete specifics, not poetic bullshit that makes it seem longer than it already is. The event masters should be taking note of the happenings of the story in any case. There is no reason for EMs to say "there aren't any words on the story window because of submissions." That's an example of a poor event master. I understand that coming up with event ideas can be time consuming. However, the events that I've seen lately aren't energy consuming. These EMs should be fully capable of doing the writing for the playerbase. Hell, isn't it a given that EMs do this? Most of the EMs I've worked with have taken the writing portion up for themselves. |
