Key McLaren man to depart Formula 1 Posted at 14:42 Sam Michael is to leave his role as sporting director at McLaren at the end of the current campaign. Michael has spent 21 years in Formula One, initially with Lotus and Jordan, before joining Williams in 2001 as chief operations engineer. McLaren, meanwhile, have strongly rejected suggestions that chief operating officer and acting CEO Jonathan Neale and technical director Tim Goss have been sacked. BBC SPORT |

...from the BBC Sportsday live feed... Button to stay at McLaren Formula 1 Posted at 10:05 --McLaren supremo Ron Dennis seemed pretty bullish about retaining Jenson Buttonduring his interview with Suzi Perry and David Coulthard after Sunday's Japanese Grand Prix. And justifiably so. After keeping hold of Button for 2016, Dennis has now tipped him to make history with the team. He said: "I am extremely pleased. Jenson is the most experienced driver currently racing in Formula 1, and next season he is due to become only the third driver [after Rubens Barrichello and Michael Schumacher] in Formula 1 history to pass the milestone of 300 Grands Prix."
