...from the BBC's Twitter feed....
-Alex Haworth: Wayne Rooney scoring in a 2-0 win that ended Arsenal's 49 match unbeaten league run on his 19th and my 15th birthday.
-Mikkel Schnack: As a Liverpool fan, watching Liverpool come back from 3-0 down at half time to win the Champions League, my 33rd birthday was one to remember!

--BBC One pundit Fabrice Muamba will make an emotional return to the FA Cup this evening three years after he nearly lost his life playing in the tournament. Muamba was playing for Bolton against Tottenham in a quarter-final in March 2012 when he collapsed suddenly and went into cardiac arrest. Despite his heart being stopped for 78 minutes, the midfielder's life was by quick-thinking medical personnel and he went on to make a full recovery. Sadly however, Muamba was forced to retire from football. Since then, he has studied for a journalism degree, appeared on Strictly Come Dancing, and even had a UK number-one single.

FA Cup History...
Posted Image
--Liverpool have won the FA Cup seven times and lost seven more finals. Only Tottenham, Manchester United and Arsenal have won more.
Liverpool's last win came in 2006 - Steven Gerrard howitzer at Cardiff - while they lost the 2012 final to Chelsea.

--Bolton Wanderers have won the FA Cup on four occasions, losing three more finals. They beat West Ham 2-0 in 1923 - the first final at Wembley, AKA 'The White Horse final' - Manchester City 1-0 in 1926, Portsmouth 2-0 in 1929 and Manchester United 2-0 in 1958. They're due one.
In recent times they reached the semi-final under Big Sam in 2000, and were hammered 5-0 by Stoke in the 2011 semis.
Just look at that crowd in 1923. An estimated 300,000 were inside Wembley. Amazing. That's roughly the entire population of modern-day Nottingham. In one stadium...

Danny Murphy
Former Liverpool midfielder on BBC One
Quote:

"Liverpool's turnaround has been huge and Brendan Rodgers deserves great credit. Defensively they're not conceding, they're creating more now, and Daniel Sturridge coming back can give them that boost to go on and finish in the top four. I think tonight is a real opportunity for them."

Former Manchester United defender on BBC One

"It's a wonderful achievement for Steven Gerrard. I don't think many players will get to 700 appearances for one club going forward in the modern era. I think he's such a massive influence for the football club and I'm amazed he's been allowed to leave."

...you ain't the only one, Phil... sad1

"I think it's important for the back line of Bolton, with Philippe Coutinho and Adam Lallana playing in those little pockets, that they don't drop too deep and allow them to create space in there."

...from a few moments earlier....
Bolton 0-0 Liverpool
Quote:

The large travelling support sing the Steven Gerrard song which references his size and supposed prowess in a fight, but it's all Bolton so far. Liverpool defender Mamadou Sakho goes in for a header and as usual, nobody could guess where the ball will end up. Play along at home, you'll never be close. He must have a head shaped like Kryten off Red Dwarf.

BBC Radio 5 live's Kevin Kilbane at the Macron Stadium
Quote:

"Bolton have to be careful about Philippe Coutinho cutting in from the left, as if he's allowed to shoot, he can cause problems. They need to watch out for Liverpool hitting them on the break."

...and Coutinho rifles a shot in towards goal; skirts just wide of the mark but that has to be a bit of a warning to the Wanderers...
