.....it appears we are going to have a very early substitution for Liverpool as Lucas limps off the pitch and down the tunnel...
...and Joe Allen will come on in substitution for Lucas, but this cannot be good for the Reds...

Phil McNulty
BBC Sport chief football writer at Goodison Park
Quote:

"Not much time to catch the breath here but one or two promising signs from Everton manager Roberto Martinez's tactical tweak as Kevin Mirallas, posted on the right flank, has given Liverpool defender Mamadou Sakho plenty to think about in the opening stages."

...thus far, this match has had an ebb-and-flow quality to it, both sides pressing at every opportunity; all it would take to break this game open is just one mistake, one error on someone's part...

....that was close!
Jordon Ibe w/a rocket shot that but for a half-inch to the left, would've nailed the top-left corner of the goal!
That collective breath of relief you heard around Goodison was the shot caroming off the woodwork!

Former Liverpool midfielder David Thompson, BBC Radio Merseyside
Everton 0-0 Liverpool
Quote:

"Jordon Ibe was within an inch of becoming a derby legend!"

...no kidding, Davey boy...

....as we approach the 45 minutes, it seems as though both sides have cancelled the other out thus far; each have had their chances, but no one has yet made the breakthrough that we often see in these rivalry matches....question is: when will we see one of those moments?

...I mean, we almost did w/Ibe's rocket shot earlier; is there another moment waiting in the wings perhaps?
