...elsewhere in the Premier League, there are three other matches, all at the half atm....
-At the Emirates, Arsenal lead 2-0 over Leicester City
-Up on Wearside, QPR have a 2-0 lead over Sunderland
-At the KC, Hull City lead 1-0 over Aston Villa....

...less than 5 minutes remaining before stoppage time; for Liverpool, a win sees them draw ever closer to the Champions League' spots, while a win for Spurs - depending on what else happens tonight - could see them as high as third in the table....

...and Coutinho w/a cross towards Ibe; unfortunately, he overcooked it and sent it out for a Spurs goal kick...

...here's an interesting bit of trivia: in his first 100 games as manager, Brendan Rodgers has 184 points to his credit....only Rafa Benitez, w/186 pts., has more at that point in their careers... b23 b23 b23

He's everywhere! This time Harry Kane pops up at left-back to stop Daniel Sturridge in his tracks. Is he going to make the half-time brews too?

...at this rate, I wouldn't be surprised... whistle1 whistle1 whistle1

"Liverpool should be in front they have had several good chances in good positions but the final ball has not quite been good enough. Liverpool have to win, it is very attacking team, but Spurs have not been in awe."

...and there's the halftime whistle!
An entertaining back-and-forth between two sides fighting for a place in European competition sees them honors even after 45....your halftime score: Liverpool 1, Tottenham Hotspur 1.

"It's been really fast and free flowing from both sides. Liverpool should be in front, they just hit the post 20 seconds before half-time, and they have edged the chances. But Spurs are also playing very, very well."

BBC Sport chief football writer Phil McNulty at Anfield
Quote:

"Entertaining half at Anfield. Harry Kane, inevitably, on the mark for Spurs and Liverpool's Daniel Sturridge not far off as his backheel hit the post. Perfectly balanced between two sides intent on playing passing, attacking football."

...watching the first-half highlights, it just dawned on me: that was a back-heel shot Sturridge attempted late in the half...ohh, if that had gone in...

Raheem Sterling looks colder than Olaf the snowman as he rubs his hands together in the stands. He's missing tonight with a foot injury.
