--Josh Dobie was on the mark as a young Liverpool U18s side drew 1-1 with the George Best Academy at the Kirkby complex on Wednesday.

It was a good exercise for Neil Critchley's side as players returning from injury got vital minutes under their belts.

The George Best Foundation Academy is made up of more than 60 players aged 16 to 18 and focuses on the academic and athletic development of up-and-coming footballers from Northern Ireland.

They were delighted to take up the opportunity to send a team over to face Liverpool at the Academy and the away side took the lead before Dobie pounced to net the equaliser on 80 minutes.

Liverpool U18s team: George, Travis, Lewis, Masterson, Polgar, Dobie, Watts, Madger Gomes, Maxwell, Quigley, Trialist (Dhanda)
