...say whatever you want about the man, but what father wouldn't go to see their son play?

(Liverpool Echo) David Beckham was a surprise visitor to Liverpool FC’s Academy on Thursday – to watch his son, Brooklyn, play for Arsenal’s youth team.

Beckham Snr, who played for Manchester United, Real Madrid and LA Galaxy, was spotted watching 15-year-old Brooklyn, who has recently been called up to Arsenal’s under-16s side. But it was father who was attracting attention on Merseyside with some of Liverpool’s youth players tweeting pictures of the star.

Northern Ireland full Ryan McLaughlin tweeted: “With Becks today! What a man.” United States midfield Marc Pelosi wrote: “Look who I found at our training ground – LA to Liverpool.” Beckham Snr, who played 115 times for England, has taken ownership of an Major League Soccer franchise to be based in Miami, with the club expected to begin in 2016 or 2017.
