Liverpool FC Xtra: 10 great Liverpool victories over rivals Manchester United
(1)Liverpool 3-1 Man United (March 6, 2011)
--Peter Beardsley in 1990 was the last time a Liverpool player had put three past Manchester United; however, on Kenny Dalglish's 60th birthday, Dirk Kuyt wrote his name into the history books. His treble consisted of three close-range tap-ins, but each prompted wild celebrations on the Anfield terraces.

(2)Man United 1-2 Liverpool (March 18, 1990)
--Kenny's Reds were closing in on their 18th league title and a memorable brace of goals from John Barnes ensured there was no slip-up at Old Trafford, although a late Ronnie Whelan own goal caused Liverpudlian hearts to flutter.

(3)Man United 0-3 Liverpool (December 26, 1978)
--An emphatic festive victory for Paisley's reigning European champions, who totally overwhelmed the Red Devils thanks to goals from Ray Kennedy, Jimmy Case and Davey Fairclough, who completed the rout with a fantastic solo-effort at the Scoreboard end.

(4)Man United 0-1 Liverpool (December 17, 2000)
--This was the day when 10 years of hurt came to an end, courtesy of a spectacular Danny Murphy free-kick in front of a stunned Stretford End. It had been a long time coming but the victory was worth the wait.

(5)Liverpool 3-0 Man United (April 4, 1964)
--The Liverpool Echo reported in the aftermath of this victory about how the Kop hammered Dennis Law with their merciless wit, while out on the field, goals from Ian Callaghan and two from Alf Arrowsmith set Bill Shankly's men on the way to their first league title in 17 years.

(6)Liverpool 2-0 Man United (March 2, 2003)
--It was to be Houllier's last trophy as boss and it was a truly memorable occasion as goals from Steven Gerrard and Michael Owen gave Liverpool more Cardiff glory. Jerzy Dudek was named Man of the Match in the 2-0 win as Liverpool's proud association with the Millennium Stadium continued.

(7)Liverpool 2-1 Man United (March 26, 1983)
--Norman Whiteside fired United into a first-half lead before Alan Kennedy equalised with a low drilled effort. Ronnie Whelan became the Wembley hero for the second year in a row when he curled home a magnificent goal to win the cup for the Reds. It was Bob Paisley's final season in charge of the Reds and as a fantastic mark of respect for their retiring boss captain Graeme Souness and the team made the great man go up first to lift the cup.

(8)Liverpool 4-0 Man United (September 16, 1990)
--United were systematically thrashed in front of a baying Anfield audience as Kenny Dalglish's side put four past their rivals. Peter Beardsley stole the show by grabbing a hat-trick against the Red Devils, while John Barnes chipped in with a goal that helped the Reds to the biggest win over United for 65 years.

(9)Man United 1-4 Liverpool (March 14, 2009)
--This one shook Old Trafford to its very core as the 2008-09 title race took yet another turn. Cristiano Ronaldo fired United ahead; however, Fernando Torres and Steven Gerrard hit back for Rafa's Reds. Fabio Aurelio and Andrea Dossena then capped the win.

(10)Man United 0-3 Liverpool (March 16, 2014)
--The Reds extended their winning streak to six games with a huge victory at Old Trafford. They played United off the pitch with swift and decisive passing coupled with desire and constant movement. Steven Gerrard scored two penalties, before sending a third spot-kick clattering onto the post. Luis Suarez then wrapped it up with a third goal.
