"I'm the best man for the job"

--Graeme Souness, Roy Evans, Gerard Houllier, Rafa Benitez, Roy Hodgson, Dalglish and Brendan Rodgers have all been tasked with winning title number 19 for Liverpool but it has eluded them all.

Rodgers though is not lacking confidence and, when asked if he could end their drought, he told the Liverpool Echo "absolutely". The former Swansea man has also said recently, "The message for me, is clear. I don't think there would be anyone better to do the job here."

Time to walk the walk Brendan.

"I watched Divock Origi a few times in the Europa League. He looks a deal short of being the full package yet. He definitely has ability, is quick but looks like he needs another year before he is top Premier League standard."
Liverpool own Origi and loaned him immediately back to Lille upon his signing. He is expected to begin his career at Anfield at the end of this season.

Hull City appear to be on the attack early on; apparently, they've figured out they're in a relegation fight and a win could help see them through....

--Hundreds of fans will be at Anfield this evening - and, no, they haven't got the wrong venue.

While their team are playing 200km away in Hull, some Liverpool supporters will be boycotting the KC Stadium protesting at their own ground.

The Spirit of Shankly supporters union has organised the event as part of an ongoing campaign against the cost of watching top-flight football.

Tickets for the match at the KC Stadium are £50, with a £2 reduction by Liverpool as part of the Premier League's away fans initiative.

....meanwhile, back at Hull:
Alan Green BBC Radio 5 live at the KC Stadium

"At best the Liverpool away end is half full."

....from the BBC's SMS text feed....
-Russell LFC Fan: It's shop window time, come on Balo, put in a decent performance.
-Matty B, Skelton: Rogers is clearly playing Balotelli in the hope that he might have a good game and stand a chance of recouping a few million in the summer.
-Jafer, Liverpool fan in Birmingham: I miss Luis Suarez. So, so much.
....you and everyone else, Jafer...you and everyone else here... cry1

...from the earlier header & Mignolet save....
Former Scotland international Pat Nevin BBC Radio 5 live at the KC Stadium

"A great cross from the left, good pace on it, N'Doye is seven yards out and you could argue he should score there. It was straight at Mignolet. Certainly the best chance of the game so far."

A frantic opening but Liverpool are trying to take the sting out of things with a phase of patient play. The Tigers aren't giving them much time though as they chase and harry everything early on.
