John Hartson at Anfield
BBC Radio 5 live
Quote:

"That is a great goal from Liverpool. It was a break on the counter-attack and brilliant work from Lambert his vision to see Coutinho on the back post who controlled it perfectly and scored with an exquisite finish."

...meanwhile, up at Wearside, Sunderland & Southampton are level 1-1....from the Sunderland-Southampton BBC feed:
Quote:

GOAL
Sunderland 1-0 Southampton (Gomez, pen)
Posted at 15:20
Jordi Gomez steps up to take it. Much pressure? The Spaniard does not show it, stepping up to coolly tuck the spot-kick away.

...and then:
GOAL
Sunderland 1-1 Southampton (Mane)
--What a mess this is by the Black Cats. Costel Pantilimon comes to get a harmless high ball into the box, but falls over two of his team-mates and drops the ball. Sadio Mane says thank you very much and tucks it away into the empty net.

Sunderland were ahead for a matter of seconds.

...at about the same time, West Ham take a 1-0 lead over all-but-relegated Burnley...from the West Ham-Burnley BBC feed:
Quote:

GOAL
West Ham 1-0 Burnley (Noble pen)
Posted at 25 mins
--Duff was done all ends up by Kouyate, who cut back in on to his right foot and was caught by the Burnley man. Kevin Nolan makes no mistake from the spot.

...meanwhile, from the BBC's Twitter feed of Liverpool-QPR:
-Matt Simpson: In 20 minutes, Rickie Lambert has offered more than Ballotelli has all season.
-Ryan Clarke: One thing Lambert will give Liverpool is heart and it's something we've been missing recently. Happy for him to get a chance.

(25 min) QPR are desperately seeking a quick response. Defender Steven Caulker once again find himself in a scoring position but he fires over under pressure from Reds defender Dejan Lovren.

As someone said over on Twitter, " In 20 minutes, Rickie Lambert has offered more than Ballotelli has all season." Lambert doesn't get that pass into Coutinho, we're still 0-0...

Big shout from the Liverpool players for a penalty. Adam Lallana plays a sumptuous ball to Raheem Sterling, whose subsequent cross appears to strike Clint Hill's hand in the area. Referee Martin Atkinson waves away appeals.

...thus far, Liverpool have been the better side, which begs the question: where has this been at times this year?

John Hartson at Anfield
BBC Radio 5 live
Quote:

"There is a very quiet and subdued atmosphere maybe, the QPR players look very subdued and I think it is because of the situation with Rio Ferdinand and the sad loss of his wife. I wonder whether they could have called the game off in respect. It is a terribly sad day all round."

"It will be very hard for the QPR players and I am sure their thoughts will be with Rio and his late wife Rebecca. It is such a tragic story we are hearing today and it must be difficult for them. He was their team-mate and friend."
