Liverpool return to action against Chelsea at Stamford Bridge on Sunday. The Reds take on the Barclays Premier League table toppers in their penultimate away game of the season.

Earlier this campaign, Chelsea clinched a 2-1 win at Anfield - while last season's corresponding fixture also ended in the same scoreline to the Blues.

Even Chelsea being champions and have nothing to play for, the quality they have will prove tough for us. A 2-2 draw i reckon for this one.

playing the league champions this will be tough as they come. The Chelsea sub bench even scares me. Yeah it's negative but no way can we come away with the points.

How will Chelsea feel about Liverpool giving them a guard of honour? "Very uncomfortable actually," John Terry told Fox Sports earlier in the week.

"Because they're fellow professionals and fellow peers, it seems a bit strange for them to be standing out. I think both sides will be a bit uncomfortable. They're a very good side, people like Stevie G (Steven Gerrard) I have a lot of respect for. It just wouldn't seem right if I'm honest.

"But if it's been instructed to them we'll accept it because we're very proud of what we've achieved but with that same token not being too ungrateful."

....from the BBC's Twitter feed....
-Andrew Price: Rodgers was always going to have a tough year, but constantly putting players out of position doesn't help
-Ebrahim Sait: Looking at the two benches Liverpool have nobody to make a difference on the pitch compared to Chelsea
-Richard Parfitt: Loftus-Cheek in the starting XI? Do my eyes deceive me?

They don't Richard [any relation to the Quo?], they don't. Ruben Loftus-Cheek starts. What do we know about Chelsea's new face today then?

Ruben Loftus-Cheek is a 19-year-old midfielder who has been on the fringes of the first-team squad all season. He made his debut just before Christmas, replacing Cesc Fabregas late on in the Champions League group match against Sporting Lisbon.

His sole Premier League appearance came at the end of a 1-1 home draw against Manchester City.

....from the BBC's SMS text feed....
-Fraser from Northern Ireland: With the exceptions of Sturridge, Coutinho & Emre Can, Rodgers has wasted hundreds of millions on duds & gets it wrong too often in big matches. Time to go. I'd take Rafa back but would prefer Klopp please
....given the year we've had, Fraser, I doubt Rafa - or even the great Bill Shankly, for that matter - could've done much better; as Donald Rumsfeld once infamously said, "You go to war with the army you have, not the army you want..."
-Joe from London: From an avid Chelsea U21 watcher; if Loftus-Cheek puts in a performance today I can see him becoming a regular next season - great physical presence with passing, shooting and pace unexpected for his age.

'You made me better'
Chelsea v Liverpool (16:00 BST)
Posted at 15:20
--Chelsea boss Jose Mourinho says Liverpool captain Steven Gerrard made him a "better manager" before their final Premier League meeting today. Gerrard almost signed for Chelsea during Mourinho's first spell in charge of the Blues in 2005, and the Portuguese revealed he also wanted him at Inter Milan and Real Madrid.

-Alex Klinger: We [Liverpool] need Benteke. Proven 20 goal a season striker who we have a chance of getting. Plus Milner if out of contract
-Peter Campbell: Liverpool could still be a point behind Man Utd, before Man Utd play again, against Arsenal. Keep the faith!
-Firas: So glad to see Loftus-Cheek starting. Really hope Jose keeps his promise to integrate Solanke, Boga and co next year.

Beeney Man
--Remember Mark Beeney? The goalkeeper played for Leeds and Brighton among other clubs in the 1990s and is now goalkeeping coach for Chelsea. He taught Petr Cech all/some/a fraction of what he knows.

Anyway, his son Mitchell Beeney is Chelsea's sub keeper today. Permission to feel old.
