....well, at least we know who'll succeed "the Head" at Old Trafford, right?

(NBC ProSoccerTalk) Louis van Gaal was only appointed manager of Manchester United this summer, but he is already naming Ryan Giggs to be his successor.

Giggs acted as manager for the final four matches of United’s season last year after David Moyes was sacked, and was kept on as an assistant to Van Gaal.

Earlier in the week, Van Gaal commented on how quickly Giggs was learning as a coach, and even said the former-Manchester United star reads the game similar to one Jose Mourinho.

Today the Dutchman come out and told MUTV that he believes Giggs will take over as the next manager at Manchester United.

I expect that he [Giggs] will be the next manager after I am gone. Now I have the responsibility. He has tasks that he has to perform like the players. What he has to do, for me, he does it very well.”

If anyone has the resume to lead Manchester United, it’s Ryan Giggs. The 41-year-old Welshman made over 900 appearances for United over his 24-year career at Old Trafford, the most in club history. He is the most decorated player in English history, winning 13 Premier League titles, two Champions League titles and four FA Cup trophies, among numerous other titles and awards.

Earlier in the season it looked like there may have been some animosity between Giggs and Van Gaal, but those rumors went away as the team turned around its’ play. Van Gaal has a proven track record of winning at some of the biggest clubs in the world, so no matter their relationship, Giggs could not find many better to develop under.

United leave it late in London... again
Crystal Palace v Man Utd (20:00 GMT)
--There are reports that Manchester United haven't arrived at Selhurst Park yet because of bad traffic.

And Palace have just retweeted a fan saying it's "traffic worst I've ever seen around Selhurst".

Didn't this happen about 10 times to United in London last season?

People say it's a classic Utd goal and I 100% agree with it. I mean, the Utd player is clearly offside but the goal was allowed to stand; just like old times with a certain red face.

I saw the replay of that goal (the Armenian whatever-his-name scored it, I think) and thought, "That offside? What, did Howard Webb return to the pitch as referee?"

Borini's goal is so much better but doesn't get attention because he plays for Sunderland. Plus, they need to fawn over an offside goal.

Plus Borini was a former Liverpool player, so naturally they'd ignore his goal for the offiside one...
