...and there's the halftime whistle! On a day when Liverpool need to win, the first 45 minutes have not been their best efforts by far.....your halftime score from Anfield: Liverpool 0, Southampton 0.

(Sky Sports) 'LOOKING LIKE A PRE-SEASON AFFAIR'
--It is fair to say that Sky Sports pundit Graeme Souness has not been impressed with what he has seen so far at Anfield.

"It is dull," said the former Liverpool captain. "They are playing a yard below where they need to be in terms of passing. My only hope is that in the second half they are attacking the Kop End...

"But at the moment it is looking like a pre-season affair"

(Sky Sports) 'LALLANA AND STURRIDGE SHOULD COME ON']
--Thierry Henry has called for the introduction of both playmaker Adam Lallana and striker Daniel Sturrridge in the second half at Anfield. "Lallana and Sturridge should both come on," said the former Arsenal forward.

"Especially Sturridge as this is exactly the type of game that he likes, one where he will not have to defend too much..."

--Slightly better this from the Reds as the Kop tries to drive their side on, but this Saints defence are proving hard to break down.
