(BBC Sport) £30m for Sakho?
Burnley v West Brom (15:00 BST)
--West Brom are interested in Liverpool's £30m-rated defender Mamadou Sakho.

France centre-back Sakho, 27, is out of favour at Anfield after falling out with Reds manager Jurgen Klopp on the 2016 pre-season tour of the USA. He was sent on loan to Crystal Palace last season, where he made eight appearances, and was nominated for their player of the year award.

The news comes after the Baggies rejected an £18m bid from Manchester City for centre-back Jonny Evans. Manager Tony Pulis said on Friday it would be "crazy" to say they would turn down a bigger offer for the Northern Ireland defender, but added: "We're not desperate for money."

no, Beeb, he's out of favor 'cause he celebrated that damn goal of Benteke's against us last year; to quote The Football Republic's Lloyd Griffith, "Benteke scores against us, and Sakho celebrates against the club that pays his wages? Fuck my luck....

Leon Osman, Ex-Everton midfielder on Football Focus: I am concerned about Palace with the noises that are coming out. Scott Dann said he has been asked to get on the ball and they are opening themselves up defensively. To come and make such a big step to a team that are not used to it is asking a lot.

Juliette Ferrington, BBC Radio 5 live: Writing in today's programme, Liverpool boss Jurgen Klopp notes: "Today is our one and only priority. It is where our attention is - 100 per cent.

"The attitude of our players has been outstanding. We have faced challenges during pre-season and at the beginning of the season already. I love that in our squad we have players of different personalities but at their core they all care passionately about what they do, about this club and about each other.

"To achieve something special we all need to put what we can to achieve together ahead of what we might want for ourselves as individuals."

I wonder what he means by that?

Ian Dennis, Senior football reporter at Anfield for BBC 5 live Sport: Liverpool do have a very good record at home on the opening fixture of a Premier League campaign. They've won their opening match in the last four seasons - although Crystal Palace have surprisingly have won on their last three visits to Anfield.

Liverpool with their pace and power will be very much looking forward to this and very much looking to get three points on the board.

Juliette Ferrington, BBC Radio 5 live at Anfield: There are plenty of early arrivals outside the ground at Anfield. There's a guitarist strumming along to Fields of Anfield Road and fans I've spoken to are all confident of a home win.

Two of them I bumped in to caught a five o'clock flight this morning from Bosnia and Herzegovina to be here today for the very first time.

Darko and Anela are their names and Darko said: "Can't wait! First time at Anfield I hope we will be Champions."

Juliette Ferrington, BBC Radio 5 live at Anfield: Andy Robertson is one of five changes for Liverpool. The 23 year-old comes in for Alberto Moreno. A quick flick through the match day programme and Robertson says "When you sign for Liverpool you can't wait to play at Anfield. I think even for the players that have been here a long time the first game of a new season back at Anfield will always be a special one.

"These are exciting times for the club. There's a lot of competition for places and you know that you need to try and be at it in training and then do it on games when you get your chance."
