YELLOW CARD Liverpool 1-0 Arsenal --Now Danny Welbeck himself goes into the referee's book for catching Alberto Moreno while the Liverpool full-back attempted a clearance. A harsh one, Moreno kicked Welbeck's foot rather than the other way round. |

Liverpool 1-0 Arsenal --A confidence-booster for Loris Karius, coming off his line with assuredness to punch clear Alexis Sanchez's free-kick. |

CLOSE! Liverpool 1-0 Arsenal --Liverpool look like scoring every time they get into the final third. Mohamed Salah makes Usain Bolt look like a slouch. The Egyptian runs onto a ball down the right, cuts inside and drills a low shot across goal which Petr Cech has to push to safety. |

![]() Robbie Savage, Ex-Leicester City & Wales midfielder at Anfield for 5 live Sport: Liverpool have just had to defend their first set-piece and you have to say the reserve keeper Karius did exceptionally well. He organised his defence then came and executed a textbook punch to get the ball well clear. |

Phil McNulty, BBC Sport chief football writer at Anfield: Arsenal have had a couple of comprehensive beatings at Anfield in recent seasons and they followed a similar pattern to the opening 25 minutes here. Liverpool are pulling Arsenal all over the place with pace, movement and attacking quality and at this stage The Gunners look nowhere near coping. They need to clear their heads quickly or Liverpool will be over the hills and far away. |

CLOSE! Liverpool 1-0 Arsenal --Sadio Mane cracks a well-struck volley just wide from the edge of the box. Arsenal goalkeeper Petr Cech was not getting to it had the effort been on target. Robbie Savage, Ex-Leicester City & Wales midfielder at Anfield for 5 live Sport: Liverpool are the sort of side who need to get a second or a third goal to really finish opposition teams off, because with their back line they remain vulnerable when they're only 1-0 ahead. |

Juliette Ferrington, BBC Radio 5 live at Anfield: There's a real buoyancy about this Liverpool performance. Klopp's got the noise and atmosphere from the crowd he craved with roars of 'Liverpool' around Anfield this afternoon. With performances like this they don't miss Philippe Coutinho - we haven't seen him from our vantage point here in the main stand or on the monitors in front of us. There's hardly an empty seat inside Anfield today. It's flown by so far. |

GOAL - Liverpool 2-0 Arsenal Sadio Mane --Arsenal being punished. Liverpool break so quickly and the Gunners defenders just cannot cope. Roberto Firmino, who must be worth £250m if his start to the season is anything to go by, lays on Sadio Mane down the left. The former Saint has a lot to do, but makes it look easy, cutting in and curling a bending shot into the far corner past the outstretched hand of Petr Cech. |

Robbie Savage, Ex-Leicester City & Wales midfielder at Anfield for 5 live Sport: An absolutely sensational counter-attack from Liverpool. Two passes, the ball into Firmino then into Mane on the left. He's one-on-one, he drags the ball onto his right and then curls it past the despairing dive of Petr Cech. Arsenal are getting torn apart, they are all over the place. A devastating goal from Mane and Liverpool. |
