![]() (BBC Sport) Been there, done that --What were you doing back in May 1998? Just finished high school? Learning to walk? Not even born yet!? I know what I was doing, I was belting out Vindaloo by Fat Les in a car with my dad on my way to a campsite. Good times. I know what Gareth Barry was doing as well. He was making his Premier League debut for Aston Villa. Fast forward 19 years and the 36-year-old is still going strong. Today he could equal Ryan Giggs' record for the most Premier League appearances... |

(BBC Sport) Simon Brotherton, MOTD commentator: It was a year ago this weekend that West Brom beat West Ham 4-2 at The Hawthorns, with the Hammers in the midst of a disappointing start to the season. In some ways, not much has changed. Monday's much-needed win over Huddersfield was West Ham's first of the campaign and Slaven Bilic admitted afterwards that Frank de Boer's sacking had been on his mind. No such anxiety for Tony Pulis, whose team have made a solid start. One landmark of note - Albion's Gareth Barry will equal Ryan Giggs' all time record of 632 Premier League appearances this weekend. He will also become the first player to make 600 starts in the Premier League. |
