Yeah, its' that time of year again, the time to watch and see who will be playing on the continent next year..... 1} Manchester City, 72 pts (11g, +59) 2} Manchester United, 56 pts (11g, +32) 3} Liverpool, 54 pts (11g, +30) 4} Tottenham Hotspur, 52 pts (11g, +28) 5} Chelsea, 50 pts (12g, +23) 6} Arsenal, 45 pts (11g, +15) 7} Burnley, 36 pts (11g, -3) 8} Leicester City, 35 pts (11g, -1) 9} Everton, 34 pts (11g, -14) note 1: Manchester City are already qualified for European competition as they can finish no worse than 6th-place note 2: Positions 1-4 qualify for 2018-2019 Champions League competition while 5th place automatically qualifies for 2018-2019 Europa League competition note 3: Two additional berths are awarded to England for the winners of the League Cup and FA Cup competitions; if the FA Cup winner finishes outside of the top-4, their berth falls to the 6th-place finisher in the league. If the winners of the 2017–18 EFL Cup (Arsenal or Manchester City) are in the top six of the Premier League and the winners of the 2017–18 FA Cup aren't, then the berth is given to sixth place. However, if both the winners of the 2017–18 FA Cup and the 2017–18 EFL Cup are in the top six of the Premier League, then the EFL Cup berth is given to seventh place, unless Arsenal win the Europa League, then England will have one Europa league place removed, due to Europa League champions berth in the Champions League being allocated to England. |

1} Manchester City, 84 pts (7g, +67) 2} Manchester United, 68 pts (7g, +37) 3} Liverpool, 66 pts (6g, +40) 4} Tottenham Hotspur, 64 pts (7g, +36) 5} Chelsea, 56 pts (7g, +23) 6} Arsenal, 51 pts (7g, +17) 7} Burnley, 46 pts (7g, +2) 8} Leicester City, 43 pts (7g, +4) (orange) note 1: Manchester City will qualify for Champions League competition in 2018-2019 regardless of final results (green) note 2: Manchester United has qualified for Europa League competition but could still qualify for Champions League based on remaining games left in current season With that said, there's still berths to fight for..... (1) Although both City & United have punched their tickets for Europe (both headed likely for UCL), the otehr 2 Champions League berths are still available plus if Arsenal win this year's Europa League competition they would also qualify for Champions League in which case they plus the top-3 finishers qualify for UCL Group Stage, 4th-place into the UCL Playoff Stage (2) Because Manchester City has clinched UCL competition for next season, their League Cup berth falls to the first available posittion not already qualified; at present, that would be Chelsea in 5th place. (3) In regards to the 2017-2018 FA Cup - as things stand, if either Manchester United, Chelsea or Spurs win, the FA Cup berth would go to the 6th-place finisher (at present, Arsenal) and the League Cup berth would go to the 7th-place finisher (at present, Burnley). If Arsenal win the 2017-2018 Europa League title, this would not change as Chelsea are currently in 5th in the UEL group stage berth spot. (4) if, however, Southampton win the FA Cup (and assuming Arsenal win the UEL), the berths would go as follows (as things stand)..... (UCL) Manchester City - 1st, Manchester United, 2nd, Liverpool, 3rd, Tottenham Hotspur, 4th and Arsenal, UEL winner -- (UEL) Southampton, FA Cup winner and Chelsea, 5th place |

1} Manchester City, 87 pts - 2017/2018 Premier League Champions 2} Manchester United, 71 pts (5g, +37) 3} Liverpool, 70 pts (4g, +43) 4} Tottenham Hotspur, 67 pts (5g, +35) 5} Chelsea, 60 pts (5g, +24) 6} Arsenal, 54 pts (5g, +17) 7} Burnley, 52 pts (5g, +4) note 1: Manchester City are the 2017-2018 Premier League champions, thus their League Cup berth falls to the first PL side not already qualified at present note 2: both Manchester United & Liverpool have qualified for Europa League but will likely advance over to Champions League competition for next season With that out of the way..... (1) With three UCL berths filled or likely filled, one more UCL berth is available unless Arsenal win this year's Europa League, thus giving England 5 Champions League berths for next year (2) With Manchester City's coronation as PL champions, their League Cup berth automatically goes to the first team not yet qualified for European competition (at present: Arsenal, 6th) (3) In regards to the 2017-2018 FA Cup - as things stand, if either Manchester United, Chelsea or Spurs win, the FA Cup berth would go to the 6th-place finisher (at present, Arsenal) and the League Cup berth would go to the 7th-place finisher (at present, Burnley). If Arsenal win the 2017-2018 Europa League title, the League Cup berth would be vacated as only two teams would qualify for Europa League competition in that scenario (at rpesent: Chelsea, 5th & Burnley, 7th). (4) if, however, Southampton win the FA Cup (and assuming Arsenal win the UEL), the berths would go as follows (as things stand).....
