Acacia pulled out her phone, checking the time. They'd all agreed to meet in a few minutes, and they had to start by deciding where they were going to move into. They had to find somewhere. After all, there was nothing saying that the Greens couldn't Clutch at least this once, what with not having any Firestone substitute of any kind. After all, Greens being infertile was something that Cia had always assumed was because of the Stone. The alarm she'd set on her phone went off, telling her that the others should be nearby. They were going to start showing up in a matter of minutes. Well, there was the first arrival. Kestrith appeared over the trees and landed behind Acacia. The Gold curled herself up into a comfortable position, but her tail was lashing back and forth. Her eyes occasionally whirled red-orange with random irritation, often at things that normally didn't bother her. Like the snow on the ground. It was just too cold, too bright... But she didn't complain, even though Acacia knew that was what she was thinking. She knew they'd both be happier when the Gold finally decided to Rise. Cairrean walked outside, Ruunath sitting near the trees. The Green had been acting strange recently, much more motherly than normal. And Greens weren't normally motherly at all. Cairrean began to wonder if that meant that Ruunath was actually eggheavy. Well, it was a possibility after all. They didn't have any Firestone to render them infertile, so it was possible... But if that was the case, they REALLY needed to find somewhere else to live. She hadn't asked Ruunath about it yet, though. She was going to have to soon. They had to find a new place to call home. They were going to outgrow this place really soon. |

Then, Taylor and K'vin appeared from the house, their dragons descending from the sky above to land behind them. Petrinth was much larger than Junreth; something that was becoming a problem and todays meeting topic. Taylor looked to her Queen, smiling as she felt her Garnet nuzzle her back with her nose. My dearest love, aren't you in a good mood today? Petrinth rumbled in reply, Of course, Mine. However, this mood may darken as we decide on our new home. Taylor agreed emotionally with her dragon; her attention was taken when K'vin looked to her, "Looks like it's almost time for the rest to arrive, Acacia is here on time as always." He said, smiling towards the other Queenrider. "Nice to see you, Acacia." Taylor said to the GoldRider. "Todays the day to find our new home, the mansion can't hold us forever unfortunately." she said, her heart sinking in her chest. She had grown such a fondness for the place. She had spent time the hour before in the Egg Room, and her room, remembering when Petrinth was little. She couldn't believe how mammoth in size her Garnet had grown, and how irritable she had become with her Rising coming. All the females were irritable. This was becoming an issue. Petrinth and Junreth sat behind their riders, much like cats would, with their long tails curled around them. Edited by Shapeshifter, Feb 8 2014, 02:54 PM.

Jessie strolled towards the Mansion, though there was still purpose in her stride. She almost regretted this walk. Though she knew this certainly wouldn't be the last of the old building that she saw, somehow it almost felt like it was. She felt Zedavith reach out a comforting tendril to his rider's mind, reassuring her that this was the right decision for all of them. She knew that she still held a lot of rank amongst her peers though respect from before the dragons, and for bringing them all something from their wildest dreams, but her own confidence in herself hadn't been so high. Sure, she was now a Kingrider, but it was a strange color, self declared a King. Certainly Zeda's size spoke for that fact, but she had begun to feel strange considering herself their "leader" as they were all equal in their knowledge of what would really happen. The females had begun to Rise, eggs were now a very real and imminent part of their future. As she approached the edge of the trees she drew back her shoulders and put on her confident happy face. Acacia, Taylor, K'vin, Cairrean. Faces she had all expected, as they were certainly the most reliably early among the dozen. She smiled at them all as her Onyx came in low, nearly brushing the trees with his wings before settling near his siblings and rumbled a low greeting. The others seemed confident, and she was sure they all had ideas in their mind as for areas they could search for a suitable home. She herself had found one that she thought may be worth searching out, though it was far from home and would be a long flight. And a flight it would be, as she'd had never actually seen the place, and she wasn't about to be the one to stumble on the time-travel ability. |

Bronze and Brown winged low over the trees and settled to the ground, the King near the Queenpairs, rumbling a greeting to them, and the Brown nearer to the Greens, watching them calmly, quietly. D'rius was silent as he descended from the huge beast his Bronze had become, though Orlynth was by far the smallest King. He had heart though, something none of the others could deny him. Standing at his side, he inclined his head to the others, though remained, for the moment, quiet. He'd been doing his homework, but wanted to see what the others said before naming his own. Upon Duluth's shoulders, she remained quiet and thoughtful, watching her fellows. She still felt like the odd one out, even though she'd been accepted by her fellow riders, if a little reluctantly at first. Her Brown's choice of her had made her one of them, had essentially forced them to accept her and allow her to remain. Her knowledge added to her usefulness, and her intense study of how Weyrlings were trained had been a good assist when needed most. She still remained kind of out of the way though, off to the side, despite having one of the larger dragons. |

Acacia looked over as someone else came out of the woods, but this girl was dragonless. Of course she was. Aster may have been at the first Hatching, but she hadn't Impressed. Aster walked over to her sister, and they were actually wearing the same colors. Aster was wearing a simple pair of jeans, while Acacia had a denim skirt with black tights, thick of course. Their jackets were the same, too. "Okay. Most everyone's here. There's only a few more people, and we can fill them in when they get here," Acacia said, taking a step forward. "There are a few things we need to start doing, and now. Ruunath has Risen, and the rest will start doing so soon. We will have at least two Clutches, one for each Queen, and there's the possibility of all our females Clutching the first Flight, simply because of a lack of Firestone. I thought it would be good if we started by looking for abandoned mineshafts in the nearby mountains, and then we can expand those to fit the dragons. Does anyone else have any ideas?" |

"How will we split this search up?" Taylor inquired, her arms folded across her chest. "I feel we should try this in two sets, split up the Queens should anything happen." She was right, if something was to happen to one Queen pair, at least then there would be another to survive. However, what if one Queen rose while gone? At least there would be some male suitors to Chase. K'vin only stood their, solemn faced. He knew better than to come between the two Queenriders with Flight being so close. They had both become so bicker-ish towards eachother he found it too amusing to miss any meetings. Taylor looked back at Petrinth, who lowered her head next to her mine. She extended a hand out and placed it on her scaled eye ridge, giving it a bit of a scratch. "I agree on the mine-shafts. They would be perfect. Especially with how large they are." She said, remembering being taught about the sizes of the shafts in their local history classes in school. |

D'rius cleared his throat, waiting until he had their attention before placing a gentle hand on Orlynth's leg. That limb was almost taller than he was, and he used it to make a point. "I'm not sure mineshafts would be large enough, to be honest. I've seen tv shows about miners and their work, and those shafts never seem to be more than MAYBE eight feet high, if that. All of our dragons are easily taller than that, and I don't know about you, but I don't want my Bronze having to crane his neck downwards every time he wants-or needs- to go inside. And it would be even worse with his larger fellows and our lovely Queens." He looked around at them and spread his hands slightly. "There are, of course, unoccupied cave systems, if not close to here, that I'm sure we can find. We just need to be willing to look for them. The mountains would be our best bet there." He shrugged slightly. "That's my suggestion, for what it's worth." Arielle remained quiet as she sat Duluth's shoulders, just watching and waiting for a choice to be made. Why do you not voice your opinion, Arielle? The suddenness of his question had her blinking, and he craned his neck up and around to look at her curiously. You have been researching this endlessly at your 'apartment'-thing, and I have sensed you found several promising places. So why not speak up? It is not my place to go against the wishes of Kings and Queens, she replied softly, and he resisted the urge to snort, sensing she did not wish to draw attention to them. Let us wait and see what they say. If they cannot decide on a place, I will voice my thoughts, she promised, and he settled once more, though he now had his head angled to see her as well as his fellows. |

Jessie listened with interest to the idea of the abandoned mines. It was one she hadn't thought of and found the idea intriguing. When D'rius stepped forward to voice his concerns though, some of her own trickled forth. And she nodded in reluctant agreement. "It's a creative idea, and sounds great." She looked at her own Onyx dragon, measuring him up, "But I agree with D'rius. the larger the mine shaft the more unstable it becomes. What if the entrance we to collapse? Or worse, one of the living areas or even on a clutch?" Zedavith rumbled his dislike at the idea. It did not please him for there to even be thoughts of such an occurance. "The only way I could see it working is in a marble quarry or something of the like, but those are normally giant pits." she sighed. "The mountains definitely seem like our best option for a temporary home." She had an alternative, but it was a long shot, and would rather make a safe home nearby before they embarked on such a journey. |

Acacia nodded, listening to each person as they spoke. "If the books are right about everything, which they have been so far, it might be a good idea to split up all the females who have yet to Rise," she added top Taylor's concerns. "We don't want any fighting between dragons." She turned to look at each speaker. D'rius spoke next. "Good point... And Ruunath wouldn't even fit, and she's the smallest. Kestrith definitely wouldn't. But we can't go too far from school, too many of us have yet to graduate high school. But we could also check the community college for prospective Candidates..." At this point, she was just muttering to herself. "Hm... Maybe a marble quarry for a Sands or something as a starting point," she said thoughtfully, branching on Jessie's idea. "And then we can look for cave systems nearby. We should also look at soil composition. Clay is a lot less likely to collapse on top of us than sand is, but we will need Sand eventually. Seems like sooner rather than later." Aster was listening quietly to all of this, making notes in her mind. "Arielle, you're one of us now," Acacia said suddenly. "I'd like to hear your opinions as well. And you need not be afraid. There's so few of us right now that we can't afford any dissonance between us." |

D'rius' head turned as he looked to Arielle, who shifted slightly on Duluth's shoulders, unsure and a little nervous about being essentially shoved into the spotlight. Here is your chance, love, whispered through her mind, and her lips twitched at the confidence and support she sensed in his tone. "Well..." She hesitated, then took a deep breath and closed her eyes, pulling up her computer screen in her mind's eye. "I've found several places, but none of the most promising ones are in the US..." She rubbed the back of her neck. "The MOST promising one is actually in Vietnam..." |
