Welcome to the Flux.

We're a brand-new Creative Writing/Arts/RPG forum. We welcome anything you've got to show us, from arts, crafts, graphics, sprites, to fanfic, original stories, novels, short stories, to RPGs, or if you just want to hang out and chat with us, you're more then welcome. We offer a variety of boards across the forum, so you're sure to find a place to fit in somewhere.

More of the lurker type? Well, I'm sure you'll find some good browsing material. (Though we haven't got a whole yet, since we just opened a few days ago.) However, we are welcoming new, active members from all corners of the internet.

If you find yourself out of stuff to do on the forums, head down to the bottom to find the source of that incessant clicking: The C-box. You're sure to find a few in there.

The Flux was built by a former RPG-community, so expect lots of activity there. However, after we moved on from our last site--reaching a life-span of three years--we decided to expand.

We have a helpful, dedicated staff, ready and willing to answer questions, or offer help with whatever you need, whenever you need it.

So don't be shy, come on in, introduce yourself, and become a part of our laid-back community. But don't forget to look over the rules.

Okay, as you all have probably heard by now... your little admin is growing up!

I got my official acceptance letters today via email, and let me tell you, it has made a huuuuuuuuge weight just fly off my shoulders. My stress is gone. I got in to where I wanted to go, and I've gotten that taken care of. I still have a fair amount to do, but now that that first step is cleared, I can finish up the rest!

I am also working on quitting smoking, on top of also making myself healthier. In general, I'm going through a LOT of life changes right now.

As we all know, TF has been slow lately. And yes, I know a good amount of it has to do with my absence. On top of that, everyone's got school finals to deal with. It all is just all up in our faces. I know it, I'm not mad, and I would hope no one else is either. As we all know...

Life comes first!

Stress from everything has just bogged me down, I'm not going to lie. My next week or so is going to be tough too, because quitting smoking is not an easy task for anyone.

However, because of this, I am delving back into the RP scene as much as I possibly can. My muse is fickle at times, but I know writing and shit is going to help me through the next few days.

Now I'm sure you all are wondering why I'm ranting like this.

Well, I want this summer to be a bang. At the end of August, I'm moving out of state. Going out to a dorm, going to attend college, probably working part time... Probably lose 90% of my time. However, this isn't that 'I'm leaving' letter you all might have been expecting.

It's a 'I'm appointing new leaders to step up to the plate when I start my life'. It will take me time to adjust, and I won't lie, it will be a bit of a rough patch, especially where posting and my activity is concerned.

But I want you all to be able to continue to RP here, without having to rely on my presence. We have a solid group of people, and we're even seeing some RPs going without the involvement of all our 'major players'. This is definitely good! I will still be here, and I will keep some RPs going, of course. Some must never die.

However, I won't be able to effectively run a site by myself.

For this reason, I'm looking for new staff.

BT/Tif has already been placed as Admin a while back. We all knew that was coming eventually, he's my wingman! I also have two more wingmen... well one wingman, and one wing-woman. I think you all know who they are...

Shine and Spire.

They will be our new admins! They will help run the site, yada yada. Delta will probably be promoted to full mod, as well as Puwa, and probably D as well. I'll get us a couple new mods, probably, we will see.

However, I'm going to look to EVERYONE to help us run the site better. I want everyone to try and help advertise, and everyone to bring their friends in. I want this place to flourish, even if I'm not here to keep an eye on everything. You've all been surviving in my recent absence, but I want you all to be able to go at the pace that makes everyone happy.

I don't want to see this place fall into death. I love this place, and I love all of you. I mean that in the least sappy way possible. Again, this isn't a retirement letter as many of you may believe. I will be here. I just won't be here enough to run things on my own. I'm going to probably cut down to only a few RPs, and in general, just keep things in moderation.

I'll worry about HUGE site revelations, but with the new admin powers they will receive, Spire and Shine will run things majority, as BT is still busy with school too. Shine and Spire also have school, but that's why I've spread out the work load. But over all, it's not just on us... It's on everyone.

We need EVERYONE to work together to keep things going smoothly. To keep everyone together, and to bring in new people, and help them stick around.

But in the mean time, the last few months of summer are going to sail on by. Let's grab them by the balls, and make the most of it, hm? It'll be my last summer of freedom, and TF's baws celebration!

If anyone is game for being a mod, or has any general ideas involving anything, let me know.

Well, firstly, the new skin. For some reason, it isn't setting it default to members' preferences, I suppose, so make sure to check it out for yourself. You can find the theme-changer at the bottom of the main page of the forum, just above the Cbox. Again, this theme is Indulgence, a beautiful skin made by the talented Leonardo.

Now, more onto what's changed.

You'll notice a lot of forum rearrangement, as well as some additions and subtractions to the pre-existing forums. Firstly, I've merged the General Discussions and Creativity Department into one forum. Things have been reorganized, so it should still be easy to navigate. I did this because the discussions weren't taking off as well as they could have.

So, we're going back to primarily an RPG based forum. I've still got a few more things to update, but that's the basics, really. You'll find all the artsy topics under the General Category, and some have been made into a sub forum on that. The Writing Sections, music, etc are all still there. I've merged Forum Games and Random! into one, since there was no real need for both...

Also, in the RPG section... You'll find two new sections. We now have three sections, instead of two. The rules will be updated soon enough to reflect this. We have Original, still. Then, I've added 'Anime and Manga' and 'Other Media' sections, which are pretty obvious. Anime/Manga is for just that, and Other Media is basically for everything else, like games, television, movies, comics, cartoons, etc.

I think that's about it for now. There'll be some minor changes and new things set up. In the mean time, have fun, as always~

Woo, finally, a new theme. Now... it isn't one I put together. Basically, I probably won't be making another theme for a while, until I can finally accept the changes photobucket has made(which is probably never...) Or I find an alternative. But, anyway, I love this new theme. It is a bit dark, but you will adjust easily enough. The other themes are still available if you so choose.

This skin is known as Indulgence, done by a member of Zeta Boards: Leonardo. It's awesomely delicious, and everything seems to fit pretty well. It's a pre-made theme, so there wont' be any nasty color misses.

And that's about it for now... I'll probably look around for more pre-made themes to install at some point. In the mean time, enjoy~

Tomorrow, the site will enter maintenance... I'm thinking sometime in the afternoon(CDT). The maintenance will include fixing of the Mature Boards, redoing the side-bar, including fixing up the Open RPGs, site links, and implementing the Character Database. Also be removing some dead threads, and fixing up some organization.

I am looking for CDB mods, and also taking Advertising Volunteers to help advertise, get us some affiliates. If anyone has a good site we can affiliate with, let me know, we'll get that situated.

I really need some CDB mods, so far only Kay has agreed to do so. It's simple, really. Just look over applications for characters, and organize them in the roster.

Does anyone else have any suggestions/ideas that we need? What about color ideas for layouts?

Yeah, me. I guess I never really left... buuut I'm totally here fully now. At least I'm going to try to be. I owe many of you an explanation. In short, life sucks. Serious family drama, stuff I don't enjoy getting into. Nothing seriously, like a death or anything. Everything's in good health, it's just been drama. But it seems to be quelling now, thankfully enough.

Because of this long stretch of bullshit, I have taken a serious hit to my muses. They have never been as good as they were back in our golden days, but man, it's gotten to the point of when DR was shut down.

None the less, I'm going to try to work my way back in. It might not be pretty--my writing might suck, but I'ma do all I can. 'Cause I love you guys. <3

Anyway, in light of this return... I'd like to spruce up a bit. Any ideas for anything fresh? I'd totally like to setup the character database again. I'd like to see if there's anyone who'd like to mod for it? I need at least 1 or 2 to spear-head it. Also, considering Slife is swamped with school, I might ease him off of the mod list, and just share the General Discussion area with Puwa and D(who is also busy), but it's not really a major job, anyway.

I'd also like to kick all of you in the pants to help me active-up stuff again--this includes all boards. Also, I still totally want to do Symphony of Chaos, eventually.

But the main concern here is, I want to give us a fresh layout. I'm thinking grayish... might seem dull, but I'll try to make it fanciful. I need something that'll work with the sidebar. Plus, we need some general maintenance.

One month into the new forum, today. Forty-two members, 777 posts, and counting. I love you all for making us take off so well. (:

On an unrelated note, I've added a new feature to the forum, courtesy of those awesome guys at the support forums... A forum-tab feature. Basically, it lists the forums at the top, under tabs. Click one, it displays. This gives your scrolling finger a rest.

Even better. If you don't like it, just click Show All, and it'll default like it was before, until your cookies are cleared.

It makes navigation awesome. Nothing will go unnoticed!

Kay, I've changed around a few things, just for your information...

-Firstly, Open RPGs. They took up a LOT of the very limited coding on the sidebar >>; So, I made 'em into rollovers. Simply roll over, and you'll see the description. No longer are there links to the GM, but it still shows them in the information.

-Affiliates are back~

-Another section was added, containing the RPG sections. OOC/Discussion and RP sections are now totally separate. There's been far too much confusion, and overlooked posts for us to keep it as it was.

-RPG Information and Ideas sections have been split again. RPG Information is now 'Information and Discussion'. Feel free to bring us your 'shipping' threads, or 'Tropes', or whatever relates to RPGs in general. Chat about whatever.

-Rules are back on the top, there, but also have the thread as well.

-We now have a 'Members in past 24 hours' thing too. Found one that displays guests and anonymous... so huzzah~!

-Oh, yesterday, I added a WIP room. If you want a place to work on sign up topics, and character aps, or whatever. Please don't abuse this, and make like 40 different RP ideas, and leave them there for a week. It'll get cleared teh end of each week, just so you know.

That's it, really. Let me know if anything bugs out, but it shouldn't. I checked it over pretty well. Feel free to submit feedback.

For everyone's information, I have relocated the rules to a thread... And I am in the process of moving affiliates to the old rules location. This is because we lack space on the sidebar, and I had to relocate something...

And yeah. That's it.

Wee, finally found a working sidebar, courtesy of the RPG-Directory, and google. After some messing around, I finally got it to work. And I must admit, I like how it turned out.

Let me note some work is still being done to it, but it's nothing serious, so no 'maintenance', so no worries.

If anyone's got suggestions for the sidebar, post it up, lemme know. I'll take everything into consideration. I also brought back the open RPGs section, for more information, look here.

I'm also going to start work on the 'dark theme' tonight, it shouldn't take too long.

On a side note, we're probably going to start holding a 'Member of the Month' thingy. We've got 25 active members to start with, so that should be easy enough. Look for more updates on this next weekend, sometime.
