Red Versus Blue

Welcome one and all to the newest and greatest challenge to ever grace this site. I give you the ORAS Red vs Blue challenge run. With the release of Alpha Sapphire and Omega Ruby on the horizon, I thought it fitting that we have a little fun with it. Since most everyone has played these games before with the initial release of ruby and sapphire, I invented a way of breathing a little life back into the game. Rather than go through a slightly prettier version of the same game, I encourage everyone to join in this boardwide challenge. With any luck, it'll make these new game that much more fun.
The rules of this challenge are fairly simple. Rather than going through the game as a generic trainer, players are to assume the role of a member of either Team Magma or Team Aqua. How does one do this you ask? Why, with a little roleplaying of course! In addition to a slight suspension of disbelief, each team will have their own specific rules and goals. We'll start with the hottest team first.
Ruby Rules
- As a member of Team Magma, your objective is to expand the land in order to create more habitats for humans to thrive by reducing the regions oceans(Hoenn has enough water anyway).
- Naturally, in order to realize this goal, you are tasked with capturing and utilizing the legendary pokemon Groudon. Groudon's power is necessary in order to achieve Team Magma's goals, and is therefore the highest priority.
- As a Team Magma representative, you are limited in which pokemon you may use. Team Magma members may only use pokemon of the Fire, Rock, Ground, Ghost, and Steel types.
- All members of Team Aqua are your mortal enemy, destroy them by any means necessary
Sapphire Rules
- As a member of Team Aqua, your objective is to expand the ocean in order to create more habitats for pokemon to thrive by flooding the region (Hoenn is full of water anyway, a little more won't hurt).
- To accomplish this goal, you are tasked with capturing and subjugating the legendary pokemon Kyogre. Kyogre's power is necessary in order to achieve Team Aqua's goals, and is therefore the highest priority.
- As a Team Aqua member, you are limited to a certain selection of pokemon. Team Aqua members can only use Water, Ice, Electric, Psychic, and Fighting type pokemon.
- All members of Team Magma are your mortal enemy, destroy them at all costs
Additional Rules
- These rules apply regardless of which team you're on
- First and formost, you're a bad guy. While it's difficult to do so in a pokemon game, try your best to be evil to some extent, basically just be an asshole whenever possible
- Aside from the listed types, members of both teams are allowed to catch Normal, Dark, Poison, and Dragon type pokemon
- Despite being limited to certain types of pokemon, I don't want this to interfere with our enjoyment of the game. Therefore, members of either team may catch pokemon with types of the opposite team, so long as the pokemon still has at least one of their legal types, although this is somewhat frowned upon. The pokemon's entire evolution line is counted for this, not just whatever form it happens to be in at the time, and this includes mega evolutions. In other words, Mudkip, the water type starter, may be selected by a member of either team, since it's fully evolved form Swampert is both water and ground type. By extension, this rule also applies to the fire/fighting Blaziken and the Dragon/Grass Mega Sceptile, enabling members to chose any starter they so desire without worrying about breaking the rules.
- You are no ordinary grunt, this is the reason you'll face members of Team Aqua/Magma in-game, Maxie and Archie have proved to be to weak to lead, and must be overthrown. Once they fall, the pokemon League will follow, until no one can stand in your way.
-Lastly, members on the board may challenge each other for the glory of their respective teams, it is your duty to accept these challenges and bring victory to your side!
Now for some fun flavor text
Team Aqua
- Team Aqua's base is as one would expect located in an underwater trench with an air pocket only reachable by submarine. Here there is an indoor swimming pool, an aquarium, and a kickass water bed.
- Members of Team Aqua get to wear sweet pirate getups with these cool bandannas on them. They also get to say "Arr! Avast yee landlubbers!" and actually get away with it.
- In the main lounge members are treated to cool lemonade and all the sushie they could eat by their expert waiter Juan who is basically Alfred by with a dashing mustache. Juan is prompt, polite, and always gets the job done with a smile.
- Team Aqua's theme song is Endless Rain performed by reknown pianist Cress of the Striaton City Gym Leader trio.
Team Magma
- The Team Magma base is located in the center of a volcano, because they go big or go home. Despite appearences it is well air conditioned, and contains a hot tub, a sauna, and a tanning bed.
- Members of Team Magma get a standard issue kickass red hoodie upon joining. All female members are also required to wear TINY MINISKIRTS! (if character customization returns, this will be an actual rule)
- While in the main lounge, members are treated to complimentary Lava Cookies and Hot Cocoa by the Team's personal waitress Flannery. She wears a frilly french maid outfit and unlike Juan is a total kultz. However her gung ho attitude is an amazing moral booster, and her constant screw ups and occasional trip induced panty shots are entertainment of the highest caliber.
- Team Magma's theme song is the Bolero of Gilgamesh performed by a live rock band staring the famous guitarist Roxie from Unova.
-----------------------
Now that the lines are drawn, what say you members of the Flux? Will you Join Team Aqua and wash away your enemies, Or enlist in Team Magma and burn those in your way to a crisp!? Decide now! Claim your place in the battle to come!
Oh and #TEAMMAGMA4LIFE
