Garurumon watched in amazement as Van defeated the Saberdramon. The bird burst into a flurry of data as it plummeted towards the ground. "Impressive," the wolf commented, before turning back to the remaining Birdramon with a growl.
The data flew from the defeated Saberdramon, before going directly towards the other humans.
Garurumon opened his jaw, readying a final attack on the Birdramon. "Fox Fire!"
>>Dex insisted that it wasn't real. “Right, Erika?
The gold burst behind them. Erika grimaced.
>>"R-right?"
"Yep!" Erika added quickly. "You see, they're field-testing some of the special effects--" she grew silent as the data from the defeated bird came towards Dex's D-Link, being absorbed automatically into it.
Both the Genesis agents stared at them as the entire quartet fell into an awkward silence. Erika prepared herself to break into a run, but before she had a chance, the male Genesis agent moved his hand into his jacket. As quick as lightning, he drew a handgun, pointing it towards Dex, threateningly.
"Freeze," the woman ordered, hand on her own gun. It wasn't a real gun--it was packed with a sharp, electric shock. Maybe similar to a stun gun. It was more suited for digimon--but he wasn't going to tell them that.
"Who the hell are you guys? The digimon police? Why do you care what we do?" Erika asked. She had never heard of Genesis.
"You are harboring dangerous creatures--they are a threat to the city." The woman responded, having her own weapon out, pointing it at Erika to keep her from moving.
"Danger? Our digimon just took out those damn birds that were blowing up the park!" Erika insisted, stepping forward, before the woman reminded her of the weapon pointed towards her. Erika grit her teeth--she might stand a chance if they didn't have those guns--she did have some martial arts training.
Suddenly, overheard, a loud caw could be heard. Erika glanced up, watching as Garurumon and Van went flying from above, rocketing towards the ground behind the two Genesis agents. Erika grit her teeth in worry as the bird took to the skies again--shakily, but there it was.
The two agents turned their attention away from the two kids. This was it--Their chance!
"Close your eyes," Erika insisted, grabbing out a pair of yellow-tinted sunglasses. She moved a hand back, drawing something from a small container on her side.
It was a card. It was transluscent, yellow, and littered with a design similar to a computer chip. Erika grabbed her D-Link as well, before placing the card between her two forefingers.

Erika drew the card through the digivice, as she held it up above her head. The card sparked as it was drawn through the D-Link. "Card Slash!" she declared, before pulling it fully through.
"D-Card: Blinding Flash, Activate!"

As soon as it was scanned, a powerful light showed from Garurumon's jaws, washing over the entire area. The Birdramon cawed in pain as it was blinded. Even the two agents, bearing their sunglasses, struggled to see during it.
Erika's glasses did a better job of filtering the light, but it was still bright. Her hand reached out to grab Dex's, yet again, before they broke into a run. "Let's go!" she called to Garurumon, who despite his injuries, was responsive.
He moved over to the girl, lowering himself so that she and Dex could get on. "Hold on, it's going to get pretty crazy," the girl warned, before Garurumon broke off into a run.
"Dammit! Get back here!" the woman cried. "Let's go, Smith," she ordered. The pair made their way towards the black SUV they initially drove there. The Birdramon too decided to follow the escaping quartet.
((OOC: Well, this kinda escalated quickly. Either have Van fast enough to keep up, or grab onto Garuru's tail to follow along. Just respond, and then have either the bird throw an attack, or we can get shot at--IDK, go wild, make something fun happen 8D))

Dex yelped as the agents drew their guns.
“Jesus Christ, could you not? Holy shit, I keep forgetting people just have these things here.” He spluttered, not realising that his arms had automatically risen. He’d never had a gun pulled on him before and he wasn’t enjoying it. It felt so much worse than a Digimon attack. A gun was personal. It was more human.
>>"You are harboring dangerous creatures--they are a threat to the city."
>>"Danger? Our digimon just took out those damn birds that were blowing up the park!"
“You are welcome for that, by the way. You can send a cheque to-“ Dex’s quip was cut short by Birdramon’s screech.
>>"Close your eyes,"
“Okey doke, but, uh, what… exactly is happening?” Dex, confused, did as Erika ordered, closing his eyes as tight as he could. “Did it happen? Can I open my eyes yet? Did you do the thing?”
>>"D-Card: Blinding Flash, Activate!"
“D-Card?” Dex quizzed. “The fuck’s a D-Card?” His question would not be answered soon he imagined, as before he knew it, he was being whisked off onto Garurumon’s back. Van scrambled up, now in his more diminutive form, managed to leap and grab hold of Garurumon’s tail.
>>"Hold on, it's going to get pretty crazy,"
“Of course it is…” Dex sighed, resigned. He thought it was pretty far crazy already. He didn’t really want to know what constituted crazy in Erika’s book, but he was about to find out it seemed. Struggling to stay on, Van clambered up the tail and made his way onto Garurumon’s back. The beast shot out and Dex and Van both winced as the speed hit them.
“Well, if I ever meet those suits again it’ll be too soon…” He muttered, clearly exasperated. Though he could relax a bit now… or so he thought. Birdramon was up and at ‘em already. “Really? Really?!” The bird launched more fireballs. Great.

>>“The fuck’s a D-Card?”
Erika did a double-take back at Dex, surprised he would be so confused. "How long have you had a partner? And you don't even know what a damn D-Card is?!" she demanded. What kind of idiot was she stuck with? "It's an App, you know, you download them!" her voice was thick with dry sarcasm. Never mind, she'd explain it later... if they survived.
Garurumon suppressed a grumble as his tail was being yanked upon by the heavy Van. "Erika, we're not going to outrun them at this speed!" the wolf warned.
Fireballs exploded behind them nearly knocking the wolf off his feet. He struggled, but managed to keep himself afoot. Erika grabbed Dex's arms, wrapping them around her waist--but if he even dared to twitch, she would maim him. "You'd better hold on!" she declared, before drawing another card.

"D-Card: Speed, Activate!"
The card slid through the D-Link, before the device gave off a bright glow.
0101010101010101010101010101
The light cleared, and the wolf suddenly felt his body lighten, and his limbs grow stronger. He sped forward like a bat out of hell. He hoped Van could hold on. Garurumon let out a howl of excitement, speeding down the side of the road.
---
"Catch up with them, Smith!" snapped the Genesis agent. "They're going to get away." She leaned out the window, gun in hand. She fired off a shot, from a real gun that was in the vehicle, and it whizzed past the group, but missed. "And now... they're faster?! What the hell?" the woman demanded.
Smith said nothing, and sped up the car by jamming his foot into the gas pedal. Even at full speed, it was a challenge to keep up with the wolf.
---
Erika clung tightly to Garurumon's fur, teeth grit in nervousness. Would they be able to escape? Both the Genesis agents and the Birdramon were following. With the occasional bullet whizzing past them, and fireballs behind them--it was pure chaos.
Erika saw the bridge coming up. It was a ferry bridge, and currently, was currently raised for the night. It was perfect--that car couldn't chase them. And without the problematic Genesis agents, they could finish off the Birdramon. Garurumon headed towards the bridge.
Would they make it?
((OOC: Mags, I'ma leave this up to you. One of three things can happen: A, we make it over the raised bridge. B, either the Birdramon or the genesis agents land a hit on Garurumon, sending us plummeting into the water below, or C, anything! You can control any characters you see fit -- just don't make the guy, Smith, speak.))
