>>"Well, maybe they didn't have time... and they have a really long name! Like Supercalifragilisticexpialidociousmon or something - anyway, I'm going, like it or not. I won't stand by while someone I know could be in danger."

Reiko smiled at Melody's goofiness--they were good friends for a reason. Her light-heartedness really helped to remind Reiko to stop brooding so much. She knew Melody was right--they had to check it out.

The group seemed in agreement. Maybe just the four of them would be all that was needed? Perhaps that was reckless thinking, but Reiko wasn't the type to wait around for others to confirm before she did something. She was about to take out her phone to text them, but got another idea.

She looked at her newly upgraded D-Link. If this thing could send messages--than she could use it to message others, right? She scrolled through the options, and spotted an app that displayed a small envelope icon. She clicked it, and a series of contacts came up.

Each of the individual Chosen--and then there was an option for 'GLOBAL', and an option for 'Team'. She clicked on that, before making a 'test' message.

Her own, Edwin's, Raphael's, and Melody's devices all gave off a beep that indicated a message had been received. "Oh wow--group texting." she smiled at the simplicity of it. "We definitely need to check this out more, when we have time."

"Perhaps Edwin could offer insight--you're quite the techie, aren't you?" the fox grinned at the young man.

Reiko nodded, before pocketing the device. "I guess we're agreed--let's see who this 'friend' of ours is," she spoke, before they left the small warehouse. While they walked out, she sent a brief message explaining what had happened to the others through the group chat.

>>"Hope it won't be a problem having me around."

Raphael interjected as they were about to leave. Reiko glanced at him with a bit of confusion, but soon remembered. They had been one of a few that hadn't really mended things since then. They had a lot of history--but he seemed a little more forgiving than Laurel did. Reiko forced a small smile in response. "It'll be fine." she assured.

The group of four humans and four digimon followed the map. In the night, it wasn't hard to conceal. Especially with Renamon keeping an eye out ahead, and signaling to the group. Another useful thing with this upgrade was an ability to communicate with your digimon, even if they weren't there. It was like an automatic blue tooth.

"I see something up ahead," Renamon spoke, after they had been trekking for about twenty minutes. Rei signaled a pause. She held the device between the group, and a small screen projected from it. It displayed what was being seen through Renamon's eyes.

They were at the middle of the empty lot. Buildings surrounded them from all around, so it wouldn't be easily seen by the public eye. It was a bit of a private location. There was a small pole standing up, holding up a dummy, and a piece of paper was taped to it. Renamon glanced around, and saw no immediate threats. She indicated they could move forward.

Rei approached the dummy, taking the piece of paper off of it.

It was a target. She flipped it over. "-A Friend" was written on the back.

"This smells like a trap," Rei muttered dryly.

A heavy feeling hung in the air. It seemed as if something bad was about to happen.

A distant but hearty laugh could be heard. A creature, about 5 feet tall, began walking towards them. He bore a staff with a scarcely-shaped sun on the end of it. The creature wore a familiar dark blue cloak and witch's hat.

"Hello kids! Glad to see you could make it! Did you like my trap?" he chortled, slapping his chest.

"Wizarmon!" Rei smiled.

The old wizard was a long-time friend of theirs. He had acted as a guide to the children, and a liaison between the 'higher ups' that had tasks for the kids to perform. He was their mentor, and protector. He was also one of the world's biggest jokesters.

"Good to see you all!" he said warmly, giving Akasha a strong, friendly swat on the back. It created a loud clang--and his hand stung. But he held it in. Though tears were at the corner of his eyes.

((OOC: React to Troll-Wizarmon. We've known him forever, and we're good friends with him. He's a goofy mon, but also very wise. Remember, the situation should have been tense before then~))

Loki grinned at Beatrice. He wasn't easily provoked and just let it slide.

"I assure you that my electric attacks originate from my tail feathers, and not my fine white ass" he said. "Although, Ed..." he turned to his partner. "After you guys have baked beans for dinner, I'm pretty sure your dad fires some sort of thunderbolts from his butt"

Edwin most unfortunately was taking a quick drink of water at this moment, and snorted so hard that his sinuses were washed out. He coughed and spluttered for a few moments. "God damn it, Loki" he said when he calmed down.

He wasn't really sure if Melody was being sarcastic or not, he couldn't read people very well. But her point about Wizarmon was true. If he was in danger, he may have sent the message anonymously in case it was intercepted.

Loki then tutted while Edwin grinned a little at Melody's name. "Now now, long digimon names are no joke. Remember our run-in with Antidisestablishmentarianism Kabuterimon? He was kind of pissed off because nobody could be bothered saying his full species name. But I convinced him to change his political views and that's much easier for him now"

"Oh? What's he called now?" Edwin asked, curiously, remembering him.

"Green Kabutermon" Loki said, putting his paws back in his hoodie pocket, a smug expression on the Elecmon's face. Edwin grinned from that exchange but paid attention to what the others were saying. Loki then spoke to Akashi.

"Ah don't worry, all we need to do is believe in friendship and rainbows and we'll eventually get stronger" he said. That was how it worked so far, right? Well... one of their number almost dying was also a common trigger but he supposed he'd best think positive about it.

He tilted his head curiously as Akashi remarked on the tension in the air. "Heh, what? How is this in any way sexual?" he asked. He laughed as Akashi explained that it was just fleshbag lingo. "Heh heh, alright then".

Edwin then considered how he could explore how these digivices did what they did. "Well, I could give it a try, Renamon" he said. "Just it's a matter of being careful not to mess around with something I shouldn't touch"

"Tell that to Bill Cosby" said Loki.

"Loki... God. God damn it."
Edwin sighed, facepalming.

The four of them and their partners thus made their way through the night to their destination. Edwin and Loki were too curious to see who it was to talk much after that. And lo and behold they found... a dummy.

"Huh..."
Loki said. "Before I came here I'd wonder how something like a dummy could send a text message, but then I met a Trump Supporter".

"Loki, now's not the time for contemporary commentary"
said Edwin, even if it was 6 years ago and hardly still 'contemporary'. But he agreed with Rei, it may be a trap indeed. "Loki, be on your guard"

"Okay then" Loki said, nodding. "Been a while since I had a good old digivolution in me". The Elecmon was even looking forward to a good old rumble as Garurumon again. With three of his friends backing him up, he was fairly sure he'd be able to defend Edwin from whatever danger was present.

But it seemed, it wasn't a trap at all. Just a ruse by none other than Wizarmon.

"Heyy! Well if it isn't my favourite old jape-master"
Loki said, brightly. Wizarmon was a digimon he respected for appreciating the art of pranking. He shook the taller digimon's hand warmly. "So what brings you to this side of the dimensional fabric, eh?"

"Heya Wizarmon" said Edwin. "And yeah, what's the matter? You were the one that sent us this message through our digivices just now, right?"

So far, Reiko seemed okay with his presence, and there was nothing more he could say on the matter. They both knew how it was between them, how awkward things were, and neither was going to forget it so easily. But with Edwin and Melody around keeping their heads in the game and preferring to look past the group in-fighting, it was better to disregard it for now and move forward. Time would heal all wounds, even if theirs took longer to close up than others. Without additional influences to open them up again, a trip with part of the group was probably what he needed to put him on the right path again. Continuing to look over his new D-Link, he followed the others along with Akasha, who couldn't get enough of how the new device looked. Compared to himself, it felt like a technological marvel while he felt like a relic of the past. Even Raphael couldn't help but chuckle when he regarded it with a scrutinous gaze every so often. "Oh, don't worry too much, Akasha. It's merrely the catalyst to help you rise in power. In a way, your capability to upgrade is limitless compared to it." he reassured his gearhead partner, who hovered with both hands behind his head as best as he could.

"I would hardly let such a thing bother me! I am the emissary of steel, Akasha! I would never show my displeasure for better-looking machines than I! ... Too much, anyway." he quickly added, shrugging. He was far from perfect, and didn't seem to be afraid to admit it... But like any machine, he could be improved. Matters weren't helped when Loki got involved and explained the means to getting stronger.

"Ah don't worry, all we need to do is believe in friendship and rainbows and we'll eventually get stronger"

"So... Keep friends and stay fabulous? This will be a snap for me then! I shall return to my original power in no time, and then all will fall before my radiant might!" Akasha declared, causing Raphael to facepalm. He sometimes forgot how belligerent and boisterous Akasha could be... But then, wasn't that why they were partners in the first place? He was perhaps the best human to pair with the machine as they had similar mannerisms and mindsets. Though sometimes it scared the male to see the extremes in which his own personality could be taken. In his good mood, he had completely forgotten to respond to Loki's query about how things were sexual, and though perhaps the tones were there, no one wanted to analyze it or even discuss it, least of all Raphael who preferred to not have to bring up relationships at the current point of time. They had greater things to worry about... Like why their message led them to a dummy in the middle of nowhere, a notion that made his eyes narrow and glance about quickly. From here, almost anything could happen.

"Huh... Before I came here I'd wonder how something like a dummy could send a text message, but then I met a Trump Supporter".

At this, Raphael could only look at Loki flatly before exhaling a sigh, while Akasha...

"Careful there, Loki. That's a Trumpster Fire waiting to happen if someone else heard you say that... I think I used that term right, I gleamed it from Ultimate Dictionary or so... Or was it Urban Directory...? One of those two things." Akasha hummed. Raphael had half the mind to ask if he meant another place entirely, but felt he was better off not asking. A short time amidst their discussions, it was revealed that their current situation was both something of a trap, and yet not at all... Set by none other than Wizarmon himself. A perplexed sigh escaped Raphael's lips as the humor of their digital ally never failed to make him wonder how he thought it was a good idea to keep the group paranoid, but at the same time, worrying too much would have made the blonde coloring in his hair go gray sooner than he wanted it to. Akasha, meanwhile, seemed amuse at the Wizarmon's presence, and his subsequent hurting of his own hand following the clang.

"Long time no see, Wizarmon. Sorry i'm such a hardass though, I know that had to hurt." the Hagurumon cheekily replied

"Hah! good one, Wizarmon," Mellie laughed, partly from amusement of the latest antics of their ally, and partly from the mood whiplash away from the tension of the moment. "Great to see you too! How've you been?"

"Hmph... was that really necessary?" The characteristically serious Tailmon was significantly less amused than her partner, her tail twitching in irritation as she considered the Wizarmon with stark disapproval.

"Aw come on Bea, lighten up a little!" Mellie said, affectionately scratching her partner's head-fur behind her ears.

"Mmm... maybe I will, if you go to the left a bit," Beatrice purred in response. "So what's up, Wizarmon?

POV REIKO & RENAMON

Rei snickered at the Trump trashing. She was surprised Loki was so politically tuned in. "Oh you humans, I am not sure how you could even risk letting someone like that Trump fellow get into power. That's like putting a Vandemon in charge."

"Don't ask," Rei muttered.

Wizarmon drew in attention from the everyone, greeting them in turn. It had been over three years since he had seen them.

"Yes, yes, good to see all of you--well, most of you," Wizarmon spoke, grinning broadly at all the humans. "Come into my warehouse for a spot of tea." the digimon practically skipped to the warehouse they were out in front of.

>>"And yeah, what's the matter? You were the one that sent us this message through our digivices just now, right?"

"Yes, indeed, I did," Wizarmon holding up a small phone-like shape. It was very similar to the digivices the humans had.

"You have a digivice too?" Reiko asked as the group walked behind him.

Wizarmon shook his head, before pocking the device again. He glanced back at them as he continued walking. "It's a cell phone. I got a bonus for making a trip back here." The digital world had cellphones? That would have been nice.

Where did he get it exactly? That was the question.

The group entered the old warehouse. There was a section that was surprisingly well put together. While most of it was filled with old empty boxes, Wizarmon's living area was a little more decorated. A large rug was laid out, and a couple of old couches were set up, as well as a lounge chair, and a few other chairs, including one lawn chair, a couple camping chairs, and an old, rickety folding chair. There was a small portable stove top that was plugged into a standing pole, as well as a a large lamp that lit up the area.

"Pleasant," Renamon spoke, taking a seat on one of the nearby boxes that was several feet off the ground. She crossed her leg as she sat and waited for everyone to take a seat.

Rei sat on one of the couches, sitting up straight and attentively. "I'm surprised this place has power," Rei observed.

"It doesn't." the wizard spoke simply. The pot came to a boil immediately.

"Then how...?"

Wizarmon laid out a bunch of nice cups, clearly brought with him from the digital world. There were a few bags behind him as well, likely his goods. Mid poor, Wizarmon raised one hand, holding it towards the pole with the electrical plugs on it. He released a sharp burst of electricity from his hand, and it super-charged the light, creating a much brighter glow. It lit up a larger portion of the warehouse. After a moment, it dulled a bit.

Rei let out a soft 'oh'.

POV WIZARMON

"Alright children," the digimon said, handing out cups to everyone. He let them take their seats, before he sat in one of the sports chairs, sipping from his tea, quietly. He held it in front of him, leaving his staff to float next to him. He paid no mind.

"Well, now that those of you who are active are here, let's begin," the wizard spoke. "I came back from the Digital World about two days ago. I was chasing a lead." the digimon began.

"What sort of lead?" Renamon asked.

"There's so much happening behind the scenes, and has been for the past six months. More and more digimon have been crossing the bridge. And have been coming here. Something, however, is interfering with our ability to track them directly."

"And that is?"

Wizarmon pointed to the device in Rei's lap. "The D-Links."

"Ours?" Rei inquired.

"When you all, with your partners, were running all over the place three years ago, we weren't able to keep proper tabs on you either. It was a little easier up until six months ago." So what had happened? "We aren't sure what happened, but there was a strange moment where power went down all across the digital world for seconds."

"I remember that," Rena chimed in. "It only lasted briefly--it didn't really cause problems, did it?'

"Not exactly... but it did open a gateway to the bridge... thus, allowing digimon to enter earth again." he continued. "The digital world was rebooted." Wizarmon took another sip from his tea. "We are not sure how--but this time, a lot of digimon were subjected to an alteration of code."

"What sort of alteration?" Reiko asked, interest piqued.

"An alteration that allowed digimon to cross the bridge, enter earth, and find human tamers to partner with."

There was a silence of surprise, but Wizarmon followed up with another piece of news. "And we also believe we have another Chosen that has appeared among all the new Tamers."

((OOC: React and interact for now. I'll get to the point soon.))

"Heh heh, that's the spirit" Loki laughed as Akashi declared that his modus operandi would be friendship and rainbows. Despite being partner to the Chosen of Knowledge, the Elecmon had no real idea how it worked either. But, he had the gist of how it was done and so he and Edwin had simply gone with what they knew worked.

Loki merely shrugged innocently at the next subject. "Well, I may be a digimon and know little about the ways of human politics, but..." he was about to continue on by saying something along the lines of 'electing unstable megalomaniacs who give pretty clear signs of being evil doesn't go over so well, going by my experiences of the last Ultimate Leader of the digital world', but a look from Edwin piped him down. Best not discuss that right now.

They entered Wizarmon's warehouse. Loki whistled when he saw the old digimon's living area. "Heh, not bad for Chez-Wizarmon" he said, joking that this was a flashy pad. He waited for Edwin to sit down on the lounge chair before jumping up on his lap.

"Huh, I bet that saves you a lot on bills"
Loki remarked as Wizarmon revealed he supplied his own power. "I should do the same for you, eh, Ed?" he asked his partner.

"...can you please not talk about electricity when your tail feathers are touching me?"
Edwin asked, nervously, the Elecmon's tail feathers up against his chest.

"Aww, come on, buddy, I won't zap ya"
Loki said, grinning up at him. "You trust me don't you?"

"Well, yeah" Edwin said, supposing he'd go with it for now. They listened to Wizarmon talk about how he came here two days ago after chasing a lead. Apparently digimon had been coming to Earth for about six months ago, and the D-Links were causing interference with tracking them down. Loki remembered the power outage six months ago but didn't know it had caused such a thing as significant as the rebooting of the digital world.

"Huh... wow"
he said. "So that's how Bellamy got here and got your brother as a partner" he remarked to Edwin, who nodded.

"Do you know if this was caused by anyone? Or was it some sort of thing that happened out of the blue?" Edwin asked Wizarmon. "If someone did it, I wonder why they did so?"

"So that's why we've seen more digimon reappearances..." Mellie murmured, voicing her thoughts aloud. On the one hand it was lovely to see Bea and the others again, and it was nice that there were more people like themselves who had partnered with Digimon - it gave her hope that one day, maybe they could find some way of all living together in harmony. On the other hand, she couldn't help but remember what had happened the last time a significant number of Digimon had arrived on Earth...

But maybe this time things would be different. Certainly the new bonds which had created more Tamers were a cause of optimism that one day, such an eventuality might be possible. And while they had had to fend off hostile encounters from some of the Digimon who had crossed over, Mellie still held hope that those would be in the minority, especially as Digimon and humans got to know each other a little better.

Wizarmon's last comment piqued her interest. "Ooh, a new Chosen? What's she like, or he, and where are they now, can we meet them?" As ever, her excitement clearly showed in her animated chatter.
