CLUB ROSA OCTOBER 9th 2:45AM TAMERS/GENESIS ONLY, NON COMBAT
The doors to the club swung open, nice and loud. It was a pretty low key evening - it was Wednesday night, after all--well, early Thursday morning.
The front doors to the club swung open, and Erika and Gabumon stormed in--Dex and his Veemon hopped in behind him. The doors immediately slammed behind them. There was some blaring sirens outside. They zoomed past.
Erika drew in a sharp breath, before letting out a deep sigh of relief. She slid down the door of the otherwise quiet club. Everyone had pretty much left, since most places closed at 3 AM in New York City. The only people inside were the regulars. "Well, we got outta that one alive!' he laughed, nervously.
Erika gawked up at him. "You're the reason we almost got caught in the first place!" she jumped to her feet, before grabbing him by the collar and shaking him. "You didn't listen to my directions! I told you that you needed to turn left - and you went right you idiot! You're lucky we're alive!!!"
Gabumon walked forward, scratching at his ear. "What an exciting night," he sighed, before moving up to the bar. He sat his yellow bottom in one of the comfortable chairs, snapping his fingers at the waiter.
He got a large tab beer, and began drinking it down. Erika glanced over at him, letting poor Dex go. "And you!" she yelled, pointing at Gabumon. "You couldn't have been more reckless!"
"Oh please, woman, you got out alive!" he yelled back. "Thanks to my quick thinking!" The two continued yelling loudly at each other. It was no doubt going to draw the attention of whatever patrons were in there. Dex and Veemon snuck away.
((OOC: Kay, this is Club Rosa - it's a neutral ground, so we can see Genesis OR Tamers here. No Chosen yet. Now please remember that you can't be in two places at once. This is later that night on the first day. Anyway, this is just for interaction. The club is pretty laid back, and it is a little exclusive, so your mons can hang out, especially late at night. It wouldn't be uncommon for people to crash here, or seek this place as a refuge.))

CLUB ROSA OCTOBER 9th 2:47AM Enter: Kieran and Bellamy
Oh boy... this wasn't something Kieran thought he'd be doing before now. In the middle of the early morning, making his way to an exclusive club in the city. But then again, he was here on the behest of his digimon partner Bellamy the Impmon, who turned out to be a somewhat nocturnal individual. This fact tended to be a double-edged sword, the good part being that Bellamy was content to sleep and relax while Kieran was at school during the day, and yet on the other hand, while Kieran usually wanted to sleep, Bellamy was often wide awake and in need of shenanigans to do.
And so Kieran negotiated something for him. He would go to sleep in the evening, then wake up in the early morning so they could spend some time together. Bellamy was of course delighted.
"Heh heh, that's the spirit" he said as he was promised. "Besides, how am I gonna digivolve if we don't do some bonding, eh?"
Kieran accepted that point. Edwin told him that one had to form a strong bond with their digimon partner before they'd be able to get stronger. But as much as he wanted to, Bellamy was quite a little hellraiser, and could sometimes be hard to get along with.
"Aw come on, they deserve it" Bellamy whined one night as a hooligan was doing burnouts in front of their house in Brooklyn. The Impmon so wanted to set fire to the car, but Kieran begged him not to.
"They'll be back for trouble, Bellamy, we can't do that" he said.
"Well, if they want trouble, Loki and I'll sort em out" Bellamy shrugged.
"Well... what about Genesis?" Kieran asked. Only that made Bellamy sigh and back down. Yes, Genesis, this organization that Kieran found out about soon after he had received his new digivice from the ether. He didn't know much about them, other than Bellamy shouldn't draw attention to himself or they'll show up and then there'll be real trouble. Edwin advised caution, so, that was about the only thing stopping Bellamy hitting the town and letting fireballs fly.
And so here they were, walking toward an exclusive sort of club that Kieran had heard rumours about. Apparently digimon and their tamers were quite welcome to use it as a refuge. "Club Rosa", so he had been told. Bellamy was instantly interested when Kieran mentioned it to him, seeing as a nightclub could be a great place to hang out and spend the night without being on the streets.
"Fat load of good this 'disguise' is going though" Bellamy muttered. He was wearing Kieran's spare coat, sharing Loki's fashion of wearing nothing else from the waist down (due to his tail and toe claws), and a wool beanie covering his ears. He looked remarkably like quite a small human, so that nobody would suspect him of being a digimon. However, instead they thought he was a child and that annoyed him, both from remarks of how cute he was; and also the dirty looks they gave Kieran for bringing his kid out so late. As aloof as Bellamy seemed, he didn't like people dissing his tamer like that.
But they made it in good time. Kieran and Bellamy entered the "Club Rosa". The Impmon looked around cautiously for a moment. A vehicle with blaring sirens had passed them a few minutes ago and he was feeling a bit jumpy. But when he saw there was a Gabumon and what seemed to be his tamer making a scene in plain view, he relaxed. This really must be a haven for digimon and tamers as they said.
"Heh, are we interrupting something?" he asked, glad to take off the annoying beanie and coat, revealing that he was wearing a snazzy red velvet smoking jacket beneath (as well as his obligatory red scarf and gloves). Kieran put the coat and his own jacket on a rack by the door. Bellamy's green eyes lit up with delight at what he saw.
"Huh... not bad" he said, impressed. "Hey Kieran, how 'bout we get some drinks?"
"Uh, Bellamy, I can't buy alcohol for another 5 years" Kieran said.
"Eh, fine, I'll do it" Bellamy grumbled. Kieran followed him to the bar and was surprised that the Impmon was served a glass of white wine quite readily.
"...how old are you exactly?" Kieran asked him.
"Mind your own damn business" Bellamy said, taking a drink. "Yo what up? You guys regulars here?" he asked the two that had been arguing.

 POV ERIKA & GABUMON
>>"Yo what up? You guys regulars here?"
Both Gabumon and Erika stopped mid-yell, and turned their heads to the imp that approached them. "Who the hell is this guy? One of your friends?" Erika asked.
"No, I don't know him," Gabumon returned.
"And he's got a tamer?"
"God, woman, do you think you're the only one with a human? How damn selfish of you!'
"Well I bet those Tamers and their digimon are stronger than your fat ass!" Erika yelled, before pointing at Keiran. "I bet your digimon can evolve right? I bet it could kick Gabumon's ass! He looks tough."
"God woman! You are insane!"
"No, you are!!"
"Raaaaah!" Gabumon tackled her. Erika tackled back. They went down in a wild tumble.

 POV RENAMON
"Well well," came another voice that had been in the bar the whole time, but now had recently just been noticed. She observed as the two were fighting, but seemed to be more interested in another patron.
"It's been a while, Impmon, how are you?" the cool-headed fox stepped forward. She was sipping at a martini. "Oh, I recognize you," she said to Kieran. "Aren't you Edwin's younger brother?"
Renamon had arrived not long ago, after parting with Reiko, who remained home for the evening. Renamon often went out on these late night excursions, exploring the city and gathering information. She found Club Rosa a couple nights ago, and had found it to be a viable place for digimon to actually hang out after the evening hours.
She took a sip from the martini, before letting out a refreshed sigh, "Hoh, that is dry," the digimon said, raising the glass toward the bartender, who nodded behind the counter.

Bellamy made sure he sipped at least half the wine in his glass before he made a dramatic turn to Erika, spilling only a few drops, such was his skill.
"What do you mean who the hell is this guy?" he asked, mocking indignance. "I'm none other than the Ultimate Grandmaster of All Things Naughty-"
"His name's Bellamy and he just arrived on Earth about a week ago" Kieran interrupted since he could tell that Bellamy was getting warmed up for a big boast.
Bellamy blinked, then muttered "Yeah, that's right, Kieran, spoil the moment". He grinned when the human girl asked him if he was strong. "Heh, well if you must know..." he could tell by the look on Kieran's face that he'd best not lie here. "Ah, well, like Kieran here said, only been in this partner business for a week, so me 'evolving' is kind of a work in progress. But... we're getting there" he put his wineglass down and sat on the barstool. Just as Erika and Gabumon began to fight in a wild tumble.
"Er... have they had too much to drink?" Kieran asked Bellamy quietly.
"Probably" the Impmon shrugged. "My money's on the lady winning, btw" he spoke the abbreviation rather than the words.
Bellamy's attention was quickly caught by another digimon that was present in the bar. Kieran gasped a little, namely because he hadn't seen a digimon that tall yet. He was mostly used to short ones like Bellamy, Loki, Iris and the ones he had seen at school, but this fox-like digimon was as tall as a human. Was she a "champion" level perhaps?
"Ah, heya, Renamon, fancy seein' you here" Bellamy said to her, speaking a little more politely. Kieran noticed he tended to do this with female digimon. But there was some familiarity in his eyes, it seemed they had known each other.
"Yeah, that's right, I'm Ed's little brother, well, even if I'm taller than him now" Kieran said to her. "So, uh, do you and Bellamy know each other?"
"Yep, sure do" Bellamy said, asking for a refill of his wine. "Oh yeah, Renamon, this dude gave me a name now, seein' as he thinks that's a partner thing" he gave a little grin. "But I'm rolling with it for now" he tilted his head. "How 'bout you? How's your partner doing? Also did you come here at the same time as Loki?"

 POV RENAMON
"Too much to drink? No no, those two are always fighting. It's a miracle they're partners at all." the fox digimon spoke, before sipping from her martini. "And she probably will win. Gabumon tends to get bored quickly."
"Shuddup, Rena!" Gabumon called among the battle, before he yelped as Erika pulled on his ear.
"Anyway," the digimon moved her gaze away, before taking a seat on one of the couches in the main area. "How long have you been out of the Digital World, Impmon?--well, Bellamy now, I suppose. And I'm surprised you found Kieran, of all people. Have you found any others you know with partners?"
Renamon had a few goals with this conversation. She wanted to learn more about these Tamers. She wanted to learn more about how Impmon had gotten here. If she could piece it together from multiple different sources, maybe she could bring back some useful information.
Oh, and she also did want to catch up with Impmon. It really had been a long time. She remembered the days they had last seen each other--briefly during the human Chosen's trek through the Digital World. She recalled how she was corrupted then--an enemy, far more cruel than she could have accepted now. It was strange, those days.
 POV ERIKA & GABUMON
"Womaaaaaan!" Gabumon yelled, struggling to keep Erika pinned down. But the girl knew a few moves of her own, and often evaded his grasp quickly. Her leg swept out, kicking beneath his leg. Gabumon could briefly hear Renamon mumbling about him. "Shuddup, Rena!" Gabumon called, distracting himself briefly, before Erika got a handful of his ear.
"Idiot! Never ignore your enemyyyy!" she gave a firm tug, pulling him to the floor. Her knee dug into his back, and she folded her arms victoriously with a smug grin on her petite face.
"Wipe that shit eatin' grin off your face!" the digimon demanded, flinging himself back. Erika was thrown off of him, her back hitting the ground. He spun around, swinging out his claws dangerous. The girl showed a brief moment of fear in her eyes, but that was short lived.
She pulled herself to the side, using Gabumon's leg for leverage. She moved away, rolling up one one knee. Gabumon bounded at her, quickly. Erika this time, had more of an opportunity to move. She pulled aside, quickly, as Gabumon missed again. He grumbled. He wasn't aiming as much as he could have been--but she was a human. "Remember, I'm dumbing it down so it's far!" he snapped, bolting around.
She wasn't there.
A battle cry came from above, and Erika pounced from the top of the bar. Gabumon yelped as Erika landed on his back. He struggled to free himself from her grasp.
Erika grinned evilly, flexing her hand.
"NO! DIRTY POOL!" the digimon yelled.
The hand grabbed the horn atop his head. Gabumon let out a yelp, as she did not relent her grip. He plopped to the ground, helplessly. His horn was pretty much his off switch. "That should shut you up for a while," she sighed, releasing his horn, before dusting her hands off. He fell to the ground, knocked out for now.
She let out a sigh, getting a drink from Clyde. "I'll take what's on tap," she said.
A glass of clear liquid was laid down in front of her, full of ice and wet with condensation. Erika felt her brow twitch. "I said on tap," she muttered, looking up at Clyde with dissatisfaction.
"That's is on tap--tap water." Clyde responded. The bartender didn't seem to spare a glance. "I don't serve minors, Come back in three years."
Erika groaned, grabbing the drink, before taking a seat across from Renamon, near Kieran and Impmon. She took a big gulp, before eyeing them in their conversation. "So, have you had any run-ins with Genesis yet? That's where it gets real fun." the girl said.

"Ah, I see" said Kieran, grinning a little uncertainly. He for one was glad that Bellamy wasn't this rough and boisterous. Well... he could be he supposed, especially if there was some sort of competition involved, but at least the fire-casting Impmon didn't try to wrestle with him like that.
Bellamy meanwhile considered Renamon's question, taking another sip of wine. "I take it you mean how long I've been on Earth?" he asked. "About a week now if that's the case. And yeah I've seen a few other tamers at Kieran's school. Roma and Maribelle I think their names are, one's got a Coronamon kid I was lookin' after, the other's got a Lalamon"
Kieran wondered how those two were going. He should ask Maribelle next time they were together in Professor Grape's math lecture... assuming the nasty old math master was in the mood to let them converse.
"So yeah... kinda happened all suddenly. I was relaxing by the lake, letting Coronamon and Lunamon play for a little while, then all of a sudden I was in some school hall on Earth. And these two little brats kept on fighting regardless" Bellamy continued, sloshing around the remainder of his wine as he spoke. "I met Kieran a few minutes later, he said his bro's a chosen, seemed alright so I let him be my probationary tamer. Then I figured eh, we get along well enough, so might as well make it official" he put down his glass, deciding to slow down on his drinking a little so he wouldn't get too inebriated in this conversation.
The fighting between the girl and Gabumon was entertaining to mostly watch in silence. Kieran was surprised that the digimon and human seemed evenly matched so far. It all seemed to end when the girl gripped the Gabumon's horn. She then sat down near them, taking some water (since apparently she was 3 years too young to get alcohol).
"Genesis?" Kieran asked. "Hmm. I don't think we have had any run-ins with them yet. Have we, Bellamy?"
"Eh..." Bellamy wasn't sure if his adventure the other night had drawn their attention. "I doubt it" he said, deciding that this wasn't the time or place to discuss it.
"Yeah" Kieran said, turning back to Erika. "I'm Kieran by the way" he added, realizing he hadn't introduced himself to her yet.
"How bout you guys? You bumped into any Genesis mooks?" Bellamy asked, grinning at Gabumon. "I hope not, since that fight against a human was kinda pitiful to watch, heh heh"
"I think they were just playing, Bellamy" Kieran said cautiously, hoping that was the case.

 POV ERIKA & GABUMON
"Wow, you haven't run into Genesis yet? I can't tell if you're lucky, or you just haven't been out enough," the brunette girl said, crossing a leg over another as she leaned forward slightly.
>>"I'm Kieran by the way."
Erika set her glass of water on a small table near the couch she was seated upon. "Erika. And that pile is Gabumon," she tugged a thumb back in his direction. "We've known each other for a couple months now."
As she spoke, a pair of yellow, fur-covered arms grabbed on the back of the couch, and Gabumon hiked himself up. He sat on the top of the couch, throwing a glare at Erika.
"Have a nice nap?" the girl asked.
"Yes, I feel refreshed--but not as refreshed as I will be after I've had this beer. This beer that I can drink," he smirked, showing off a can of bud light in his hands. He popped it open, and drank at it right away.
"Tch, whatever," Erika muttered, folding her arms.
>>"How bout you guys? You bumped into any Genesis mooks? I hope not, since that fight against a human was kinda pitiful to watch, heh heh"
A flash of annoyance crossed Gabumon's face, and Erika chuckled. "Look here, Impy-boy," Gabumon began, huffing as he did. "I am a very skilled mon--I just let Erika feel good about herself."
Erika gave him a death glare.
>>"I think they were just playing, Bellamy"
"I don't play, kid," Erika said, almost darkly. One could swear a cloud of terror was hovering around her.
"And she's very well trained--she could probably give Renamon here a run for her money." he added with a chuckle.
"That's right," Erika added, before leaning forward. "We have run-ins with Genesis all the time. They identify Tamers and digimon, since Taming is technically illegal in New York City. They can't legally detain you across state lines, but that won't stop them." She seemed to be speaking from experience.
"Yeah, we don't know much about 'em, but they've known about Erika and I for about a month now, and they've been hunting us ever since."
"Of course, they'd never catch us, 'cause Gabumon and I here make an ubeatable team," the two shared a rare grin of confidence in one another, bumping their elbows together as a brief sign of affection. "But they are dangerous. So I would say to avoid them at all costs. They have weapons that can mess with your digimon's code."
POV RENAMON
"Roma?" Renamon asked, feeling a flashback cross her mind. She could see a young blonde boy with bright, brown eyes--he was younger, around young Aleco's age.
"Do you mean Kale's younger brother?" the fox's mind flashed to Kale--a bold young man with dark hair. He had died. The memorial had only been a week ago.
The fox trailed off, going into thought, setting down her empty glass.
She listened as Erika talked to them about Genesis. More and more she had heard about this group, but she had not yet met them. She had only been back for about a week, but as far as she knew, their group had been good about staying under the radar.
Still, to know Genesis could pursue them was mildly frightening. "I wonder if they had anything to do with the weapon that was fired upon Algomon three years ago," Renamon wondered, aloud.
"What?" Gabumon asked, looking at Renamon with surprise. "You're a Chosen's partner?" he seemed almost admiring at that moment.
"Yes, I was one of the original digimon that came back here," she left out the fact she was also an enemy digimon. She wondered if Kieran remembered--and she hoped if he did, he wouldn't say anything. She was pretty certain Impmon knew of her treachery back then, but he wasn't the type to bring up old wounds.
Renamon suddenly felt her ear twitch. She stood up, excusing herself briefly. She stepped away to hear more clearly.
"Rena! We've got trouble," it was Erika's voice. She could hear it in her mind, as if the girl were standing there talking to her. This had been a new feature of the updated D-Link--as if a constant phone line was between them.
"Reiko--be cautious," Renamon warned. "Where?"
"Near the University. There's a few of them here--I'm not sure what they are. But you should hurry."
"Understood." the fox spoke.
She turned back to the fellows at the bar with her. "I must go." she spoke, sounding a bit more nervous than she would have liked. What was Reiko doing approaching them by herself? Was she crazy? She immediately made her way to the door, before disappearing beyond it.
"Huh, that was weird," Erika muttered.
"I wonder if there's trouble," he muttered.
((OOC: You'll wanna follow Rena. You'll probably lose site of her Spire, but you can follow the signal. Just head out for now, don't arrive yet. Erika and Gabu will come too.))

"Yeah... I think that's the guy" Bellamy said, lowering his swag-y attitude for a moment as he remembered that Kale was a human that died in battle. If there was one thing that got the Impmon serious, it was talking about relatives of the fallen. He gathered that Kale was significant to all the chosen.
"Yeah, at least I hope I'm doing things right" Kieran said when Erika expressed surprise over him not bumping into Genesis yet. "Bellamy generally just sleeps during the day and stays out of trouble at night... at least he tells me so"
"Heh heh, yeah, that's right" said Bellamy, then looked to see Kieran had a sarcastic expression on his face. 'Ah we both know I'm just bullshitting' he thought. Kieran thankfully changed the subject.
"A couple of months? Wow, good on you" he said. "Er... so... just wondering, about how long did it take for the Genesis people to start looking for you?" he asked, wondering if it was just a matter of time before they caught up with him and Bellamy. He had heard they were quite strong humans, and within the law. Kieran couldn't fight off people like that.
It seemed Gabumon recovered, bragging that he could drink. Kieran didn't feel particularly left out, he didn't really want to lay on the booze quite yet. Bellamy meanwhile drank his wine professionally, as though he had done it countless times before. And he chose to take a sip as Gabumon called him Impy-boy, but his tail flicked a little irritably.
"Yeah alright" he said when Gabumon said he was a 'skilled mon'. He could tell either he was a lousy fighter in letting her walk all over him, or he was very skilled in holding himself back. Bellamy didn't really feel like picking a fight to find out.
Kieran was interested to hear that Erika was well trained. "Really? Trained in fighting digimon?" he asked. "Is there a place you can do that? It's just I'm probably no match whatsoever if a Genesis person comes and tries to arrest Bellamy"
"Eh, there's people around, kid, we'll find 'em and see if they can teach you a thing or two" Bellamy said, patting his paw on his partner's back. "Given that you've got no idea how to cast fireballs or summon ice spikes there ain't much I can teach you"
"...how can you do that anyway, Bellamy?"
"It's data, I ain't gotta explain shit" said Bellamy, making that exact pose with red sparks in one paw and blue in another. Kieran chose to mutter "Right..." and continue talking.
"Across state lines, huh? So I gather no escaping to New Jersey then" Kieran surmised. He was at least glad to see Erika and Gabumon showed some affection for each other. It was probably their boisterous attitude that drew Genesis's attention in the first place anyway.
Bellamy meanwhile knew that Renamon was a chosen already, given that he was told as such back in the digital world. He kept quiet about her originally being an enemy though, supposing Kieran didn't need to know about the complexities of their situation as of yet. Bellamy had followed the Chosen around at a distance out of curiosity and knew a little bit about them. In fact, the reason he so readily accepted becoming Kieran's partner was because he was pretty sure that was the fastest way to digivolve, going from the lessons he got from them.
Then Renamon suddenly started talking to Reiko. Bellamy and Kieran looked around the club to see who she was talking to, but saw nothing.
"What the-?" Bellamy asked, perplexed. "Have you got some sort of earpiece, Rena? Or is this some hoopy telepathy stuff you got goin' on here? If so, can you teach me how to do that?" he grinned at the thought of having the ability to insult people using his mind alone.
"...Or you can just go suddenly, that's cool too..." the Impmon trailed off as Renamon excused herself. "Huh, she mentioned Reiko. Must be chosen business" he said to Kieran.
"Chosen business?" Kieran repeated, eyes widening. "Ed might be involved too. We should follow her"
"Eh, she can teleport, no chance of that happening" Bellamy said. But Kieran took out his digivice, and after some practised tinkering, accessed a radar function with a signal appearing.
"I think there's something showing up here" Kieran said, turning in the direction of the signal. He walked outside. Bellamy sighed, finished off his wine, and put the glass on the bench.
"Great stuff, buddy" he said to the bartender, paying the right amount using some money he had tucked away in his scarf. "I think I'll set up a tab later". He then ran off to follow his partner.

 POV ERIKA & GABUMON
Erika shook her head to Kieran's question. "I've been trained in martial arts since I was younger--you know, typical Asian." she said, obviously jokingly, leaning back in her chair. "My dad's... in the business of..." she didn't know if she should say that she's the daughter of a branch of the Yakuza. "I have my ways," she waved a dismissive hand.
Her gaze turned to Renamon as the digimon seemed momentarily distracted, before she ran off.
"Bwah, she's like a ninja," Gabumon said as he ran out the door after Renamon. She was gone before he was even able to trace her.
"I'm guessing her partner tried to contact her," Erika spoke, glancing over at the others. "These digivices have a lot of fancy features." the girl seemed to have lost her happy-go-lucky attitude, and had adjusted to a more serious type. She watched as Kieran picked up the signal, and gave a stern nod.
"Don't worry, kiddos," Gabumon assured, walking up to them, putting a hand on the shorter Impmon's head, and a hand at Kieran's back. "I'll keep you out of harms way."
"You'd have a better chance of survival if you walked blindfolded into rush hour traffic," Erika muttered, before headed towards the signal their digivices picked up. Hopefully it wasn't too far away.
POV REIKO
DOWNTOWN 3:30 AM KIERAN, BELLAMY, ERIKA, GABUMON, REIKO, RENAMON
Reiko stood, holding a small orange creature with large, bat-wings in her arms. He was injured, and she had found him. But now, she found herself in quite a predicament. "Well, chosen, you seem to have yourself in a dicey predicament." spoke the voice of a creature with light-blue skin and a pair of white pants, and a curious mask. The digimon, Yashamon, spoke. He had a pair of wooden blades at his belt, and his arms were folded.
At his side was a rather larger digimon--A large, blue and white dinosaur with two, additional heads on its hands. It was near 30 feet tall. This other digimon--Yashamon--Reiko had recognized him from an encounter not long ago. He seemed to be involved in the recent attacks, somehow. And now, he tried to intercept a message that had been intended for the Chosen.
The messenger had been attacked, while he and Reiko met each other. "Tell me, human, how long do you think you can survive against a Deltamon?"
Reiko declined to answer--and instead, broke out into a run, blitzing behind the nearest building. "Oh, so like a helpless mouse--hiding until the cat finds you." the samurai like digimon swept its arm forward, directing the large dinosaur to find the human.
Reiko pressed her back against one of the buildings, barely glancing out around the corner of it. She could see the Deltamon wasn't far. She had arrived moments ago, meeting with Patamon, a messenger of Wizarmon, but they were attacked.
She hoped Renamon would get here soon...
"Well, you're not very good at this hiding thing, now are you?" said Yashamon suddenly, causing Reiko to turn her gaze ahead of her and Patamon. Her wide eyes set on the threatening digimon, weapon out. He took a swing right where she stood.
Reiko let out a yell of surprise, throwing herself to the side in a tumble. She was nimble, and her training with martial arts had done a lot to help her in being quick on her feet--but it would be a challenge to survive long against these two. She could feel the weight overhead as the Deltamon neared, his large and heavy steps nearly rocking her off her feet.
"Reiko--we can't fight them," the weakened Patamon muttered, struggling to open both eyes. The attack he had suffered from Yashamon proved too much for the little guy. Rei realized there was no getting out of this one--Yashamon was behind her, and the Deltamon blocked her from going further.
"Why are you doing this?" Reiko demanded.
"That is the question, isn't it?" the digimon asked. "Do you think a smart mon would reveal his motives so quickly?"
"Well, you sure like to talk--so I guess I was hoping to get lucky," the girl mused aloud. "You sure you don't want to share anything?"
"Tell you what--survive for five minutes, and I'll give you something interesting," the digimon said, before he bounded forward.
Reiko suppressed a scream, but there was pure terror in her eyes. In her mind, she let out a loud cry for help. "Renamon!"
"Diamond storm!"
A spray of energy-coated leaves cut through, driving back the impending Yahsamon. "Rena! Your timing is always on point," the girl said. Renamon spared a glance back at her partner, standing defensively near her.
"Are you alright?" Reiko nodded. She turned to the enemy digimon. "Well, how noble of you, Yashamon--attacking a weak, child level and a human incapable of defending herself...? I expected better of you." her tone was chiding, but mocking.
"Ah, dear old Renamon... how have you been?" he asked, coyly.
"Better. I was enjoying a nice drink with an old friend until you decided to crash the party," she prepared to engage in battle. Reiko stood near her partner, looking between the two of them.
"Rena, I don't think you can handle these two by yourself." Renamon wondered, briefly, if she should have enlisted help from the others she was with.

Kieran wondered if Erika was being serious about how it was typical for Asians to know martial arts. But then she said her father was in the business of... and then changed her sentence midway.
"Okay..." Kieran said, hesitant to ask what she meant by that.
"Hey, paws off the goods!" Bellamy objected, taking Gabumon's hand off his head. Only Kieran got to touch him there. "But okay, let's see how you do with this, pelt-boy" he finished in a more friendly tone. He was curious to see how this 'digivolution' worked. Maybe seeing another tamer in action would show Kieran how to do it?
They ran through the city, homing in on the signal. It was about five minutes away, but, Kieran looked up and saw it was a university building that seemed to be being attacked. Was that Edwin's? Was he already there?
Then Kieran and Bellamy's attention was taken by a flash of jade light. "That's Renamon's attack" Bellamy stated. They were getting close now.
Eventually they arrived on the scene. Kieran saw another human holding a digimon; Renamon; a masked digimon, and a gigantic three-headed dinosaur digimon.
"Oh boy this doesn't look good" Kieran said.
"Ya think?!" Bellamy snapped back. "Ohh boy... two Champion levels. Not exactly the odds I'd go with, but, I'm kinda in the mood to kick ass and fight some bad guys... and I'm all outta ass"
"...I don't think the saying goes like that, Bellamy" said Kieran, hesitantly. But that other human looked like she needed assistance. And, if Kieran's eyes didn't deceive him, that was Reiko of the original Chosen. He'd certainly need to step in and help her out in that case.
"Gabumon, are we set?" Bellamy asked the other digimon, waiting for his lead. As confident as he was that they'd be victorious in this battle here, maybe it'd be better for the more experienced digimon to take point.
