So heya. I was just thinking today about starting up a new RP in a month or two, seeing that a few of my other digimon adventure RP's aren't going so well elsewhere. I thought here might be a good place to try out a new one.
The basic premise is that it'll be a simple "Kids/Young Adults wind up on the digital world and go on an adventure" RP. It will be a fullboard style one (with its own subforum obviously, like Bravelink and GSSR).
Other points I've been thinking about.
- You have the option of playing a human and a digimon partner; or just an independent digimon that our group comes across. If you're playing a partner-less digimon, it's up to you if you decide to be on the humans' side.
- There will be a D&D type of Alignment system (so Lawful Good, Chaotic Neutral, Neutral Evil, etc) for you to consider what role your character will have in the world around them.
- There will not be a combat system. RP'ing will be in free-form obviously.
- There may be a -limited- experience system, going by the number of posts you make in the RP (10 posts to be able to digivolve to Champion, 50 posts to digivolve to Perfect, etc).
- There'll be 2 types of threads. [Plot] threads that advance the story (the GM, namely me, makes those). And [Side] threads that anyone can make, which can involve your characters wandering off to do their own thing, or partaking in socializing/doing things in their quiet time outside of plot threads. Posting in plot threads would be recommended, but of course not compulsory. The posts you make in [Plot] and [Side] threads will count toward the experience gained.
- I can allow custom digimon, as long as they're within reason of being digimon-like.
- People can have multiple characters if they like, and can join in any time.
- Lastly, I'm thinking there will be sub-subforums in the RP that represent different regions in the setting, where people can make threads in a certain geographical location.
So, would anyone be interested in something like this? I'll be pondering about the plot in the next few days or so.

I'm okay with all of this. o= I may have to make someone morally questionable to go with Gaossmon line up to Milleniumon. Depending on what the setting is like, may actually make him someone with high standing in a company and may play an opposing role to other characters inbetween his own things. It's barebones right now, but with some time and a better understanding of the world, I can probably plan out things better and figure out which route I want to send him down.

Do you even need to ask?
Of course I'm in~
I'd be game for fan-mons--would there be some sort of requirement like providing imagery of the mon?
And yeah, the sub-boards is a good idea. It can all be kept in one forum--as far as I know, there is no limit on the amount of sub forums you can have.

Awesome.
Imagery of the fanmon would be desirable, but not compulsory. Just as long as it's not something like Pikachu trying to be passed off as a digimon or something like that, I'll probably be fine with it lol.
And that's splendid about the subforums.
Lastly, excellent. I'll certainly be starting planning the plot this week after I finish the last chapter of the fanfic I'm focusing on. I've got a few ideas to compile.
As a kind of ballpark area, the plot will be taking inspiration from Digimon Adventure, Undertale, Cave Story, and of course some leftover bits from EoD (that's inspiration of course, not a complete crossover like Grey Embers is with Digimon/Fallout).

-pokes her head in- I'm somewhat interested. Still trying to figure out how much I can handle with work and life, but I'd be interested to hear any updates?
It's been awhile since I got to get into Digimon again, and I can't wait to see how this develops, Spire!

Okay, so, I've thought of some beginning plot details.
- The first plot will involve your human characters being pulled into the digital world via an electronic device of some sort due to an anomaly. The geographical locations may or may not matter, it could be some random thing happening worldwide, or otherwise happening to a group of people close together.
- The digital world will kind of resemble the geography of the world in Digimon World 3. It'll take place on a server called "Rakiura", which is pretty giant. There'll be 4 regions split into subforums.
Server North - Tropical Jungle, Ancient Ruins and Swamps. Server South - Craggy mountains, Caves and Snowfields. Server East - The Prairie, Forest and City. Server West - The Desert, Canyons and Mines.
- This RP will be quite different to the ones I've done so far. A [Plot] thread can be resolved in several ways. You can fight the conflicting NPC, you can help the NPC fight the rest of the group, you can try to resolve things peacefully. Just remember that every decision you'd make will have consequences. This can make it feel more of a sort of tabletop RPG. Hopefully there can be some sort of agreement on whether or not to fight or negotiate.
- The beginning arc will have Champion level antagonists and NPC's, but we haven't yet gained the attention of the later big bads. This may change once people start reaching Perfect level.
- Of course, I'm fairly patient so there won't be much urgency about plot threads. If I get a sudden burst of inspiration I might make a sideplot thread or two with some NPC's that people would be welcome to join.
Also that's excellent, Flame. I'd be happy to see you in it ^^

Alrighty, sweet.
I've also thought a little bit more about the experience system in this RP. I'd like to create something that's both fair, but of course obtainable. And of course, able to be accessed by 'power-levelling' if the need arises, but, not so much that it would be impossible for anyone that doesn't have a regular posting schedule could match.
But note that anyone can still post a side thread if they want to to build up some more posts if they wish. I'll of course add the provision that a post must be at least 100 words in length to count.
Anyway, the post count experience system I'm thinking of could be as follows:
10 posts: Rookie --> Champion 75 posts: Champion --> Perfect 180 posts: Perfect --> Mega 250 posts: Mega --> Ultra/Super-Mega
Digivices
The Digivice I'm thinking that would suit this RP by my reckoning would be the D-Arc from Tamers, that's the device that can charge digimon via cards. Each human character would be entitled to own a D-Arc at the start of the RP, and be in posession of 3 digimon 'attack' cards, and 3 'plugin' cards that enhance their partners.
Also, since D-Arcs imply bio-merging, I think that would be the main method of human-digimon partner relationships reaching that level.
However. If you choose not to evolve by that method, that will also be fine. Instead, you could perform a normal Mega or Super-Mega evolution by the use of a card. That won't affect the overall story, but yeah, you'd have the option of biomerging or card evolution when the time comes.
Independent Digimon
Of course, there are options for us who don't want to go by the traditional human-digimon relationship. Independent digimon are able to grow as digimon with tamers, but with the provision that it takes a little bit longer for them to do so.
The independent digimon growth path would be as follows:
15 posts: Rookie --> Champion 85 posts: Champion --> Perfect 200 posts: Perfect --> Mega 280 posts: Mega --> Ultra/Super-Mega
However, they would still have the advantage in that a) they don't have to constantly defend a human partner from harm for them to remain strong, and b) their freedom in plots is substantially enhanced.

I'm loving the sound of this! Those post counts sound reasonable to me, are you going to be doing a tally after threads finish or something?
