The year is 425 P.D.C., several hundred years after World War III ravaged Earth. The destruction caused by the history's most massive war is irreversible in some places. A lot of Earth has been destroyed, including nearly all of the European countries. That entire area is nothing but ruins now, and very few people live there. As a result, people moved. They moved to inhabitable locations, such as the United States, Canada, Japan, even the North/South pole. The world also became a victim to global warming, submerging a good chunk of the world under water. Remaining is about 20% landmass.

Earth was running out of room. Tons of stocks crashed, millions of people lost their homes and their jobs. Due to military spending, world debt was insane. A terrible depression had hit the world hard. Things were not looking good--Earth was on a one-way-ticket to complete and total ruin. Scavengers roamed the inhabitable locations, and those who lived in one of the few remaining countries--in a stable location--were often the targets of crime. The world was at an all-time low.

Then, something incredible happened. Something unknown--frightening to some.A strange object appeared one day. Where had it come from? Where did it go? What was it? There were so many questions surrounding that incredible, huge, blue vortex floating in the sky. It spanned an incredible amount, seen all around the world.

Religious fanatics claimed it was God's retribution about to rain holy hell on them. Scientists claimed it was a black-hole--or 'blue-hole'. People had all these questions, but no answers. There was a giant, floating vortex in the sky, and no one could explain it.

A specially trained military force flew a few jets to the giant vortex in the sky. It sucked them right up. People became even more scared--fearing they'd never hear from these people again.

And then, about a week later, these people returned. Returned with strange creatures no less. They weren't just creatures--they were monsters. Digital Monsters, or, Digimon. Panic struck--along with panic, so did the desire to learn more. It didn't take long before these humans and Digimon decided to converse with one another. More humans went to this 'vortex', or 'portal' as the Digimon called it. The digimon had explained its appearance by a tear between the barrier in the two worlds. This tear was caused by the incredible damage that WWIII left on the world.

On the other side, a whole other world. It was an incredible, bewildering sight to any human being--just as what was left of earth was also intriguing to the digimon. Somehow, Earth and the Digital World decided to work together. They put their heads together, and began mending Earth, and helping to improve life in the Digital World as well.

It took a while. The very first year the digital world was entered was labeled '1 PDC', abandoning 'AD', in favor for the new time period. Now, 400-some years later, Earth and the Digital World have created a powerful bond. Humans mixed into the Digital World, colonizing it with several cities. Some digimon have also moved to Earth. Living had been restored--and even though a lot of the world was still in ruin, a lot was habitable again thanks to the combined efforts of the digimon and the humans.

A giant tower was erected, the 'Gateway Tower', which allowed humans and digimon to easily reach the 'portal', and travel between the two worlds within a few minutes.

Earth and the Digital World had entered a golden age...

As time passed, soon, some experiments were done. Digimon told tales of a legendary object known as a 'digivice', which would grant humans mysterious powers, and digimon the ability to digivolve. Many an expedition were made to find this technology to further themselves even more. They finally discovered it, in 378 PDC. It was then, they decided to try and unlock its powers.

A research facility was created--Digital Prime. Digital Prime was a highly advanced research facility focused on unlocking the secrets, and experimenting with the Ancient Digivice. They tried with several different age groups--they got the best response from children and teens. They had to further their research--as well as unlock other secrets within the world.

Naturally, what came along with the 'golden age', was a lot of violence. A lot of digimon didn't like the idea of humans living in their world--and vice versa. Generally, they could get along, but there was a lot of hate towards each others. There was also a lot of controversy on the whole 'Ancient Digivice' research. Attacks from each side became more frequent--even if most of it stayed within the digital world.

It soon became a bit dangerous to live in some of the colonies, especially the smaller ones. None the less, humans were a tough race--digimon soon learned that. More controversy spiked. There were hundreds of debates on political endeavors. Such as human and digimon rights, schooling, Ancient Digivice research, a little bit of anything and everything. There was so much bubbling about. Even if both Earth and the Digital World were at the top of their existence in technology means--they were also so far outdated over controversial politics...

It didn't seem too much longer until a war broke out. There were all sorts of factions. One stood out among the rest, however. Digital Prime. Digital Prime, the lead researchers in Ancient Digivice technology. Digital Prime created an academy. This academy would further their research. They'd select human children from both the colonies and earth, and allow them to enroll. How did they get in? Mostly on talent alone--some randomly selected--some paid their way in. In short, it didn't take long at all for the academy to fill up on high school students from all corners of the world, as well as digimon.

This school raised even more controversy. They not only created a replica of the 'Ancient Digivice', which signified a digimon and humans 'partnership', but they also developed a weapon, and used data-infused injection shots on the human participants. The weapons, a device known as 'D.E.C.A', along with the 'data-infused injections', allowed humans to fight on par with digimon. This feat has not been obtained before, until now. The digivice also allowed their digimon allies to evolve more quickly than normal.

With more research, D.E.C.A.s and data-infused injections were handed out to more than just teens. They were given to adults that could meet certain criteria. Soon, it became very huge debate--almost as much as gun rights were all those years ago...

Soon Digital Prime became one of the most well-known organizations in both worlds.

Things have only become more controversial when Earth and the Digital World decided to rule both worlds together, as presidents. A human/digimon partner to rule both sides of the worlds. Debates literally exploded. All sorts of factions have cropped up--a good number of them violent. Some are opposed, some are in support... Some bat for the highest bidders--others, for the ones they believe in. In short, chaos is starting to unfold.

Now, tensions are high all over the world. Skeptics and fanatics are screaming of an incoming war. They really aren't far off...
