Many millions of years ago, a single civilisation spanned the galaxy. This civilisation had reached what seemed to be the very heights of development and progress. However, for reasons unknown, a tremendous calamity overtook this shining beacon. The Protoculture vanished from the galaxy, and little trace of their once-glorious civilisation was left for anyone to see.
In the present time, as the heirs of the Protoculture begin their first tentative steps outside of their homeworlds, a great darkness is once again being set in motion. Will the history of the past be repeated? Only time will tell.

Concepts
Artifacts - Remmants of the Protoculture, these ultra-advanced devices respond to the will, potential and compatability of their users to discharge their functions. The knowledge to replicate or even repair these devices has long since been lost in the mists of time.
Spirits - The Protoculture conceived of a way to utilise and store ambient energy, and were able to imbude some constructs of energy with a rudimentary AI. These 'Spirits' are essentially smaller versions of the Guardians once used to protect the major metropolitian centres of the Protoculture, and currently, where not corrupted, serve as autonomous conduits of power.
Magic - What is commonly known as 'Magic' actually covers a huge spectrum of energy usage, but the one thing in common is that they all require the use of an Artifact, or the coorperation of a Spirit or Guardian, in order to be put to work.
Shadowbeasts - Very little is know about these menaces. They appear in various forms and types, and have a wide range of powers, but when killed, they all dissolve into nothingness, leaving nothing behind to examine. It is generally assumed that these creatures have been twisted and corrupted beyond redemption, or even that they are the very spawn of Evil itself.

Major Locations
Earth: Much as we know it, with contemporary technology and no mystical occurances. In the age of the Protoculture, this was merely a backwater planet in a neglected solar system.
Mars: In the age of the Protoculture, this was the capital of the Sol System, but it has since fallen into disrepair, and almost no traces of the once great civilisation can be seen.
Gaea: A land lacking in technology, and located near the middle of the Milky Way. In the age of the Protoculture, this was a top-secret research bastion - and the source of that civilisation's fall. For the most part, a force field still seals off the world from the rest of the universe, with the assigned AI caretakers of the laboratory evolving into something akin to gods - which is how they are treated. Likewise, Artifacts from the Protoculture Age are treated as possessing magical powers - and these are few and far between. Essentially a land of high fantasy.
Belka: A futuristic planet, with a prolifigation of Sentai Warriors (think Tokusatsu and Power Rangers) and Magical Girls, enlisted in the constant battle against the Shadowbeasts either by chance or by the Spirits of the Belka Guardian. In the age of the Protoculture, this world housed an experimental weapons factory for personnel use, which explains the abundance of Artifacts. The Belka Guardian is one of the few not to have fallen, but mostly operates behind the scenes. Belka has mastered basic space travel, but other than settlements within its planetary system, it has yet to venture out into the Great Beyond. Think a less advanced Nanoha-verse.
Ideon: In the age of the Protoculture, this was a major military outpost. All that has survived from that era are the mobile armors and giant robots (akin to Super Robots) that were produced as a last resort to fight against the inevitable. Ever since they were unearthed from the depths in which they have been buried, a brutal war has raged between the various nations on the surface. Technogical advances have ensured that lesser mechanical suits and armors have been produced in quantity (akin to Real Robots). Comparisons can be drawn to Turn-A Gundam and G Gundam.
Namek: A giant hospital planet in the age of the Protoculture, the nanosystems and AIs have since evolved beyond their original functions, and embedded themselves in the populace. Coupled with scattered pieces of Artifacts, this has ensured that a large portion of the population have abilities that can be only described as beyond human, whether it is punching through the side of a mountain or crushing a diamond gem though sheer willpower. Unfortunately, this has also ensured that the planet in general hasn't advanced much beyond the Iron Age, given the constant and brutal warfare. Only the automated medical bays are relatively well-preserved.
Station 3462: A massive space station, one of the few to survive the fall of the Protoculture. It houses an advanced fleet of semi-intelligent Corvettes, and the experimental battleship Genbu, but until now, all of the AIs have been locked in slumber. The station is completely devoid of life as of now, protected only by an automatic defensive system.
Nemesis: Homeland of the Shadowbeasts. In the age of the Protoculture, it was one of the major metropolitian centres, located near the heart of the galaxy. Now it is a dark and corrupted place.
The Etheral Plane: A dimensional rift that the Protoculture created at the height of its hurbis, as a permanent prison for the most dangerous and undesirable elements. It has since become much more than that...

World: Earth, specifically from Tokyo, Japan Race: Human
Appearance: Kirika has chesnut-colored hair with matching eyes, due to her mixed ancestry. She is of average height and has a sizable bosom. Personality: Kirika is a tomboyish, outgoing and cheerful girl with few worries. She is a sucker for romance, both in real life and in fiction, and is a huge fan of anime and manga. She treasures her friendships above everything else.
History: Kirika was born to a Japanese father and an English mother, and inherited her mother's fascination with otaku culture as well as her sunny personality. She has thus far led an ordinary life, scoring average results, though she has yet to land a boyfriend. She daydreams of being involved in a grand fantasy story, of having some excitement injected into her ordinary life. Little does she know that her wish is about to come true.
Powers: To be revealed/acquired; none as yet, except for super fangirling.

Name: Fanalia Age: 22 Sex: Female Orientation: Straight
World: Namek, from a long-destroyed village Race: Human
Appearance: Fanalia (ignore the ears) has long white hair and amber eyes that seem to harbour a great sadness. Though she is tall, she has not much of a presense, Personality: Fanalia is a complete pacifist; she cannot bear nor understand violence. She is also compassionate to a fault, and will not hesistate to heal anyone who needs help, friend or foe. In addition, she is extremely timid, easily intimidated, and used to being told what to do... even if every fibre of her being is against it. She invariably speaks in a whisper, and in broken phrases.
History: Fanalia lost her parents to the constant conflict that plagues Namek at the age of 5. In her desperation to wake them, her healing powers awakened, and turned her previously jet-black hair a milky white. Ever since then, she has become a prize catch to whichever party captures her; after all, war means that keeping healthy is an invaluable asset. Fanalia has seen untold death and suffering as a result. In the most recent conflict, both parties somehow managed to destroy each other, and for the first time the woman found herself alone. Her despair is about to reach new depths...
Powers:
Fanalia, by a simple laying of hands, is able to heal most ailments and injuries, even poison, but her fatigue increases greatly as the amount of damage to be healed increases. She needs to sleep in order to replenish her energy. In the worst case, she could even completely burn herself out, losing her life - she came close to doing that when her powers first manifested.
Fanalia is able to provide a slight, temporary boost to the strength and constitution of a single person, again by the laying of hands.
Fanalia has a limited ability to self-regenerate, as a spillover effect of her powers; this is mostly unconscious.

World: Ideon, from the Kingdom of Las Gias. This is a neutral nation in possession of an unusual number of so-called Super Robots (which they call Himmelen), attempting to stay aloof from the wars engulfing the planet. Race: Human
Appearance: Lisbeth has long wavy purple hair, and is invariably dressed in a white blouse and blue ankle-length skirt. She is a little on the tall side and has a healthy bosom, and her amber eyes are constantly sparkling at some hidden joke. Personality: Fun-loving and serious in equal measure, Lisbeth has a strong sense of duty to match her equally strong sense of fun. She likes to crack jokes and make puns, and can always be counted on to tease someone; when it comes to the crunch, however, she is uncompromising.
History: The Yuletide family, from time immemorial, have been one of the Five Families in charge of the defense of the Kingdom of Las Gias, dating to the discovery of the corresponding five Himmelen. Lisbeth is simply the latest to take up the mantle; she has had it for three years now.
Powers:
Lisbeth, as the Yuletide Knight of Las Gias, is the only one who can operate the Himmelen Vatten.
Theme: Credens Justitiam
Model Number: LGH-04 Codename: Himmelen Vatten Height: 20 meters Weight: 26 metric tons Equipment and Design Features: Mindmeld Active Control System, Elemental Psychochanneling System, Familiar Spirit 'Fenrir', Antigravity Field, Self-Repair Nanobots. Armaments: 10x Finger-mounted cannons; 1x Multiconfiguration Weapon; 1x Wave Elemental Cannon, mounted on chest.
Technical Notes:
Mindmeld Active Control System - A control system relying entirely on brainwaves; effective, the pilot becomes the machine, and feels any damage done to it. A failsafe device cuts off feedback beyond a certain damage threshold. Elemental Psychochanneling System - The basis for many of the Vatten's water-based attacks, drawing on 'Fenrir' and Lisbeth's latent potential to either erect a barrier, fire off attacks from the various systems, or even lash out in a Psyo Blast. Familiar Spirit 'Fenrir' - A Spirit that aids exclusively in the control of the Vatten; forms the basis of the most powerful attack, 'Ylande'. Multiconfiguration Weapon - Can be shaped into a variety of melee and ranged weaponry, including swords, spears, rifles, bows and whips. The cutting edges or ammunition are shaped out of the energy from the Elemental Psychochanneling System.
Attack List:
Smaregn - The Vatten lifts its arms up before flexing its hands. Pointing all fingers at the enemy, each gun barrel begins to glow, before a hellish storm of energy is directed upon the foe.
Svard - Drawing the Multi-Configuration Weapon from its back, the Vatten channels psychic energy through it to generate a blade. It then rushes at the enemy and delivers a series of slash attacks, before finishing with a powerful slam to send it reeling back.
Spjut - Once again drawing the Multi-Configuration Weapon from its back, the Vatten directs psychic energy into it and generates a spear this time. With a yell from its pilot, the Vatten moves with surprising speed and rapidly stabs the foe from all around, before spearing them on the blade. Pulling its fist back, it punches the enemy off the spear a moment later.
Piska - A more unusual attack with the Multi-Configuration Weapon. Directing psychic energy through the device, it takes no tangible form, but a loose trail of energy. This energy is then used to lash the opponent repeatedly, before ensnaring them. Yanking them overhead, the Vatten slams them around a few times, before spinning wildly and launching them into the sky… Where gravity finishes them off.
Pilbage - Changing up from previous configurations, the Multi-Weapon Configuration takes on the form of a bow, which the Vatten begins to draw back. Firing a trio of arrows, all three strike the foe with precision, before it leaps overhead. Aiming down at the enemy, it fires a hellish storm of arrows upon them with blinding speed, before generating a massive arrow that outright blows them up a moment later.
Gevar - The second ranged configuration for the Multi-Configuration Weapon. Adopting the form of a rifle, the Vatten speeds towards the enemy, firing repeated blasts to knock it around. Forcing it into the air, the Vatten begins to strafe in a fast circle, amplifying the psychic energy to move even faster until it seems like numerous Vattens are blasting the enemy skyhigh. Ironically, this attack is ended with four Vattens punching four shots through the enemy, before the real one walks away as they explode in mid-air.
Gunga - One of two Full-Open attacks used by Vatten. Readying the Multi-Configuration Weapon and generating massive amounts of psychic energy for acceleration, it opens with sword form and dashes at the enemy, carving through them with a series of 6 blindingly-fast slashes. It then switches to spear form and hikes the weapon up at the enemy, before leaping after it. The spear stabs into the enemy and spins wildly while the Vatten leaps past it, before the weapon punches through. Catching the weapon, it immediately switches to Whip Form and ensnares them, spinning them vertically repeatedly until they smash the ground with earth-shattering force. Ending this attack, the Vatten uses the anchored foe to pull itself down and drive its energy-charged fist within them while they're cratered, culminating in a towering explosion afterward that the Vatten leaps out of.
Noah - The Vatten’s eyes begin to glow, before it channels large amounts of psychic energy into its chest area. Crossing its arms in front, a powerful energy build-up begins, before the Vatten fans its arms out and fires a powerful vortex of energy that adopts the appearance of a high pressure jet of water. With a scream, even more energy is poured into the attack, causing an even wider burst to fly from the chest, as the massive blast overtakes and utterly vaporizes the enemy… As well as any foes caught in a very long line behind them.
Ovader - The second Full-Open attack utilized by Vatten. Opening with Rifle form, the Vatten fires a quick series of six shots before immediately switching to bow form. All six shots strike the enemy, knocking it upwards… Before a series of four arrows pin it in midair and lock it implace. The Vatten then releases a large quantity of psychic energy, accelerating even faster than before, leaving behind numerous copies that also fire on the foe. Switching back to Rifle form once more, the motion is repeated, this time from above the enemy in the air. Finishing the attack, many copies of the Vatten all charge their Noah cannons for a final attack before firing on the enemy located within the center. The resulting explosion can only be classified as cataclysmic.
Psycho Blast - The Vatten’s AoE-based attack. Focusing psychic energy, it slowly pushes its hands together and generates what appears to be flowing water beneath itself, which fans out over a wide area. Slowly pulling its hands apart, it generates a small sphere within its hands, which causes the ground around to shake. With a cry of the attack name, the Vatten smashes the sphere and causes a powerful omnidirectional explosion of energy to fan out and utterly devastate surrounding enemies, using the dome of energy as a means to contain the power for a more focused attack.
Ylande - The Vatten’s strongest skill, utilized by summoning Fenrir. Channeling most of the built-up psychic energy into Fenrir, it rushes at the foe and tackles them, before repeatedly biting and scratching them. Flinging them overhead, the wolf familiar leaps up after them and claws them once, before performing an air step and carving them again. It repeats this motion, moving faster and faster, until the enemy is trapped within an airborne glyph. Fenrir then comes down from above, curling up and smashing through the glyph, as well as the enemy, resulting in a utterly crushing explosion of psychic force that resounds for miles. The attack finishes with Vatten petting Fenrir for a job well done.

Name: Xian Sunyi Age: 21 Sex: Female Orientation: Innocent
Homeland: The Kingdom of Konan, renowned for the power of its Mages and Seers. Race: Elf. The Elves came into being as the descendants of those whose physical bodies were altered by long exposure to the rare Arcane Artifacts. They have acquired an increased affinity with such Artifacts, and also an increased lifespan and physical beauty. This makes them much resented yet respected. Nowadays it is a rare Mage who isn't an Elf.
Appearance: Sunyi (with requisite pointy ears) has blood red hair reaching just beyond her shoulders, and a white cape that bears the insigna of Suzaku. She is never seen without her Phoenix Staff. Personality: Sunyi projects herself as a calm, measured, and rational person, with the manners of the Court. But she is really insecure, anxious and physically clumsy.
History: The House of Xian is one of the oldest of the Elven Houses; Sunyi, however, is the youngest Royal Mage of Suzaku in generations, having produced extraordinary results while schooling in the Imperial Mage Academy. Inevitably, there is immense pressure and expectations on her.
Powers:
Sunyi wields the Phoenix Staff, which serves as a conduit for all her Arcane Magic. In particular, she wields the Elemental Power of Fire, ranging from simple cantrips up to a massive Firestorm (which however takes up a lot of her energy and takes more than an hour to prepare). The Phoenix Staff, unique among all other Arcane Artifacts, also permits its user to call on the power of teleportation; she can summon targets to her side, as well as teleport a sizable group to a pre-defined location.

Name: Georgiana Highwind aka "George" (deceased) Age: 29 Sex: Female Orientation: Straight
Homeland: The City-State of Wellfall. Particulary noted for the role that Summon Beasts play in its magic. Race: Human
Appearance: George stands at 168 cm, with a red ponytail and mischevious amber eyes. In 'Teacher' mode, she dons a power suit, but more often than now, especially in combat, she loves to don her trademark red outfit and jacket. Her lance is usually slung behind her back. Personality: George is full of burning passion in everything she does, whether it be taking on her slightly younger charges or pursuing the all-important goals of Love, Peace and Justice. She loves to call out her attacks, and she is always looking for a chance to impart to her students the same BURNING PASSION that she has in everything.
History: The Highwind Clan is famous for its Dragoons, and George is no exception. It is rumoured that she is the most powerful Dragoon seen in centuries... as well as the most eccentric. Currently, she teaches in the Wellfall Academy, instructing her young charges in the use of the Summon Beasts that are the unique feature of Wellfall Magic.
Powers: -Artifact: Highwind Lance, one of a set of 9 that all belong to the Highwind Clan. Comes complete with matching Boots, and grants George her unique Dragoon abilites -Summon Beast: Valefor -Capabilities: George has wind affinity, and Valefor simply serves to boost that ability even further.
-Skillset: Jump - George uses her boots to leap high above her foe, before she plunges downwards at supersonic speed, aiming to run her for through with her lance. Though not necessary, George is apt to include a warcry, and also to make sure that the sun backlights her at the apex of the jump for maximun effect. Lancet - Using her lance, George channels some health and energy from a single enemy into herself. Joust - Using her boots as a boost, George charges a single enemy, dealing damage to it and any behind. Whirlwind Lancer - George hurls her lance forth, generating a whirlwind in its wake that deals wind damage to all enemines in the line of fire Dragon Dive - George leaps up and then dives repeatedly down on the enemies, causing massive damage. Unlimited Blade Works - As George chants, numerous replicas of her lance begin to appear hovering next to her. By the time her chant ends, there is a red moon in the sky, and hundreds of lances are hovering in place like a wall. Then George sweeps her arm forward, and all the weapons plunge forth, impaling the enemies and dealing massive physical damage.

Name: Tailesin le Fay (deceased) Age: 35 Sex: Male Orientation: Straight
Homeland: The Kingdom of Avalon, once a reculsive nation famed for its Templers and Bards, now a shattered ruin. Race: Human
Appearance: Tailesin is a blonde-haired, clean-shaven man, always seen with his lute, crossbow and rapier. He is of average height, but his once-laughing blue eyes are now cold as steel.
Personality: Usually a ladies' man, Tailesin has changed since the fall of Avalon. Now he is usually brooding, and nurses a burning hatred for all Shadowbeasts. He also drinks much more heavily than in the past.
History: Tailesin was the most famous of the Bards of Avalon... but now he is the only one left. Having fled to the safety of Konan, he has now sworn to avenge the loss of his homeland and his comrades.
Powers:
Tailesin holds the Harpy Lute, which is able to exert powerful influences in favour of allies and against enemies. He is also skilled with his rapier and crossbow, which possess no special powers.
Theme: Kishi Ou no Hokori

Name: Ivory Castile Age: 23 Sex: Female Orientation: Straight
World: Kingdom of Konan Race: Elf
Appearance: Ivory is hauntingly beautiful, even for an Elf. Her long golden tresses, her emerald green eyes, her pearly-white skin, and her long pointed ears have driven many a suitor close to madness. Personality: Ivory is insatiably curious and fun-loving, constantly straining at the formalities that are part and parcel of her station in life. She doesn't really want to be a Seer at all; instead, whenever possible, she sneaks out to flirt with any male that catches her eye. She dislikes Sunyi for the simple reason that the Royal Mage constantly admonishes her against ruining her reputation - she hates being told what to do.
History: Ivory is a novice Seer, but one with enormous potential. She is currently apprenticed to the current Seer of Suzaku.
Powers:
Ivory possesses the Teardrop Amulet, which grants her access to her Arcane Powers. As a Seer, her abilities are mostly defensive and supportive in nature, including the summoning of shields and the temporary enchanting of weapons. By working together with other Seers, she can also see into the future. Under the tutelage of the Seer of Suzaku, she is learning to access the powers of Suzaku itself.
Theme: Travelling Elf

World: Gaea Race: Dragoon
Appearance: Melian appears to be an etherally beautiful noblewoman, usually with no expression on her face except in extreme situations Personality: Seemingly emotionless, though she is capable of a dry and deadpan wit. She takes her duties seriously, but is secretive about what they actually are, even to her closest working companion. History:
Melian is the most powerful of the Dragoons, and according to rumors the oldest as well, having reportedly been present and instrumental in the founding of Asturalia. Her official title is "Crown of the Stars, Priestess of the Ancient Ones, Melian"; so she hold great influence within the kingdom as well. She reports directly to the Guardian in charge of Asturalia, and is answerable to no one else, not even the royal family; however, by tradition, she follows the directions of the First Knight of the Empire as his companion in battle.

She is the originator of Elzam's Crying God Fist, and is also able to enter the state of the Devil Trigger, just like her disciple; in this state, her hair turns a blazing red and floats in the air, and she sparks all over with dark lightning. Beyond that, she is rumoured to have a third level of power... but no one - alive - has ever seen it.

Appearance: Nataku appears as a massive sabre-toothed tiger, more than 6 feet tall, with blood-red fur adorned in dark purple stripes. Personality: Nataku has virtually nothing to say, and seems to greatly prefer working alone. It does, however, appear to be fierce protective of its charges.
Powers: Nataku has a virtually inpregnable hide, and possesses surprising speed for its bulk. It is able to throw out balls and streams of fire from its mouth, and its teeth and claws can cut through diamond as well as most barriers. One resounding roar can stun its opponents.

Appearance: Carlisp has a bobcut, and dresses in military uniform. His dark eyes are cold and unyielding, and he always seems to be accompanied by a dark swirling aura (that seem to be there more for effect than for anything else) Personality: Carlisp subscribes to an extreme Darwinian worldview. Thus, he detests the weak, and seeks to exterminate them all; he also constantly strives to be the strongest being in the universe.
Powers: Carlisp has psychic mind powers; he can grasp control of the weak-willed, and crush their minds, and he can also severely disorientate others and create illusions customized to his foes' greatest fears. He also owns the Emerald Sword, an Artifact longsword that he can use to throw out cutting blades of energy, as well as shoot piercing beams. And this is to say nothing of his great strength and speed.

After becoming infamous for his exploits, Elzam was chosen to fight against a good friend and rival of his, Vindel Freedom, to earn the title of his Master, the so called "Devil of Namek'. The title is given only to those who have displayed extreme skill and devotion in the martial arts. Despite being hard pressed to fight his friend, only one of them could attain that rank, and so with neither one willing to back down, the battle began. Elzam was victorious, and succeeded his master as the White Devil of Namek. Powers: Being a native of namek, Elzam is gifted with the ability to harness and use ki, and possesses an unprecedented amount within his pint-sized body. He can use it to enhance his physical strength and stamina to several times that of an ordinary person, aswell as use his unusually powerful ki to attack directly, which over the years of harsh training and battles has only gotten more potent. She acts nothing like her father, in fact her personality is a complete 180 of the respected mechanical engineer. Jessica isn't your average girl, big shocker. You see, she's an android, an artificial human. Originally a little orphaned girl who happened to be in the wrong place at the wrong time, she was picked off the streets by some hopeful researchers. They were cybernetic specialists, and were researching a way to mechanize a person, to create the first true cyborg. The research was promising in the medical field, but after some setbacks and a lack of human testing avaliable, they were shutdown. Desperate to gain back their good name, they decided the only way of ever continuing the project was to produce one using a living person. By offering some shady, under the counter dealings for funding from the military under the promise of possible weaponization of the project, the researchers had all they needed to perform the unspeakable horrors they committed that day, and the weeks that followed. This is when Joshua came into the picture, a detective who had been trailing the former scientists black market transactions, he had learned a good deal about what they were planning. After taking his evidence up with the top brass and pleading for an investigation, he finally got the green light to raid the compound. A lot of noise and handcuffing later, they'd seized the place and arrested the researches for unlawful purchase of banned technology. Not long after, as he was searching the rest of the compound, Joshua stumbled upon the girl, still comatose and almost completely mechanized. He quickly rushed her to the hospital. When they finally woke her up, the girl had no memory of her previous life, which was understandable after the level of surgery she had received. Joshua slowly explained to the girl everything that had happened, fearing she would hate them for not finding her sooner. To everyone's surprise, she smiled. After being kidnapped, taken apart, and rebuilt from the ground up by demented freaks she was happy. Joshua, now filled with an almost fatherlike love for the girl, gave her the name 'Jessica' and took her home, treating her as part of the family. It's been six years since then, and Jessica has grown up into a typical teenager(mentally at least), which in her case is incredible considering all the controversy around her. She has no problem with the fact that she's a cyborg, and has recently joined the Midchildan Central Forces, out of sheer boredom rather than genuine interest. Powers: Being a cyborg designed for military combat, Jess has incredible strength for her petite size. She was, as is standard issue, given an artifact that resonated strongly with her upon joining the Midchildan central forces. The artifact was known as Weissfalken, and was an odd gem attacked to a short chain. It has since been integrated into her machinery, and enables her to transform at will. Her transformed state enhances the output of her megiddo magic engine to increase her abilities further, as well as giving her access to a wide range of concealed weaponry and magic attacks. She can also call out her scythe, Weissfalken, a sentinent weapon that channels her magic power. His parents of course talked it over with him and tried to convince him to reconsider. They eventually persuaded the boy, and he tried his hand at college. He did subpar through most of it, never really being a very booksmart guy, and in the end dropped out and found a job at a construction company. It was just around this time that he meet his current ex-fiance, Lisa. She was drawn to him for his honesty and genuine kindness (and rugged good looks). The two hooked up quickly and their relationship got more and more serious. Despite his relative happiness, a minimum wage job wasn't paying the bills. In the end, he finally relented, and registered himself in the military. Boot camp was a breeze, and soon enough he was on the frontlines. Every chance he got he'd send letters back and forth to Lisa, telling her how things were going and asking how the house was holding up. One day, just four days before he would be able to go on leave, he decided to pop the question. Using a cleaverly worded E-mail and fed-ex, she saw the ring and immediatly accepted. Soon he'll be outta this dump and back in the land of the free with his bride to be. It was not to be, however, as shortly after he recieved a video from his neighbor Larry. The two were good friends, and Larry had a heart of gold. That's why he began to question that shiny black corvette that showed up on the weekends. After sitting on the decision for a good while, he finally planted a camera to find out. As he suspected, the worst was happening. He debated, but eventually decided his friend needed to know, and sent the tape. Jack, furious after all the time they'd been together, broke the relationship off with a single harsh and profanity filled E-mail. Tomorrow he goes back home, and when he does, he's gonna tell that bitch his mind and kick her out of his house. His side job as an engineer has given him the opportunity to try his hand at new and impressive designs for artifact weapons and magitech artillery. His personal favorite is a gatling gun powered by a magic megiddo engine (the same type that Jessica has). It's capable of firing a constant burst of over 3000 rounds per minute without a need to reload. Divine Breaker: A powerful blast of energy, usually pink, though the color varies based on Adria's emotions. It's sheer size usually overwhelms opponents. Starlight Buster: A high powered blast of magical power, this move's power increases by absorbing residual electricity or magic energy in the air, making it useful in long, drawn out fights. Seeing his dream crushed before his very eyes, Vindel asked Elzam to finish it. Elzam, however, refused to kill his best friend. What was to one an act of kindness, was to the other a true and utter insult to his pride. Since Vindel has vowed revenge against the man who stole everything from him. Powers: Being a native of namek and a former candidate to earn the rank of master, Vindel's physical prowess is among some of the most intense and destructive ever seen. His abilities are known to be on par with those of the White Devil, and his skill with weapons are even greater. The one thing he lacks is Elzam's ability to enter 'Devil Trigger' mode, something that determined the victor all those years ago. Since then Vindel has relinquished his warrior's honor in favor of more brutal and effective tactics. His personal favorite being poison, which he coats his daggers in to ensure victory. Personality: Axel is a highly active and outgoing boy who usually doesn't let any trouble get to him. Even when things are grim or the odds are stacked against him, he tends to remain optimistic in the hopes that his luck will change. He tends to be rather hotblooded, and has been known to shout things during attacks. History: Born in Wellfall, Axel is the only son of Michael and Serene Cliff. As the son of a pair of musicians, the desire to play had always been embedded in his blood. To that end, both mother and father raised him up in the ways of the musical arts. Though his initial attempts fell flat, his ever-present optimism and eternal activity allowed him to keep trying despite many failures. Little did they know that it would be this determination and training that set him on the path for far greater things than they knew. Growing up through school, Axel became the target of numerous bullies who took pride in beating up someone who seemed to get back up and smile about it, hoping for the best. One day, as they tried to get him as he walked out from band practice, his true abilities began to show. Focusing and beginning to play, he not only deftly evaded their attacks, but in turn delivered his own and wound up devastating the bullies into never picking on him again. Adversely, this stunt also made his parents wary about what he learned, and thus, removed him from school to homeschool him. At age 19, however, was the point Axel began to take control of his own life forcibly. While outside of his home near the city square fountain, he played his guitar, mulling over how restricted his life was. At the time, bizarre creatures of darkness had broken through the city gates and begun to besiege the area around them. Numerous knights and people he didn't recognize began to combat the creatures, some armed with mystical weappons he'd never seen before. However, several of these people fell to these monsters... At one point, one had managed to slip by them and rushed for Axel. Reacting quickly, the boy remembered everything he used to fight the bullies that attacked him, and began to evade and counter the beast, smashing it numerous times with his guitar... Ultimately, the creature destroyed the boy's makeshift weapon and threw him across the ground, ready to deliver the finishing blow. However, water from within the fountain had ensnared the beast and wrenched it to the floor, before dragging it into the fountain. Within moments, wisps of darkness rose up from the fountain, the beast having been slain. At the time, the remaining beasts grew wary of the area, sensing more defending the area than they expected, and began to retreat. The boy's father, who had been wandering around the whole time, finally managed to locate him and was ready to take him home. However, the fountain reacted to the boy, water collecting over it, before flowing down towards him. Slowly, Axel stood up and walked towards the sphere of water, which began to speak into his mind. "Boy, your flesh may be weak, but your determination is astounding. I can see years of training in the special arts within your eyes. A grave threat is not only upon you, but many worlds beyond yours... You have been chosen by me as my partner in the fight against the creatures known as Shadowbeasts. Whether you choose to fight or not, your fate has been decided... I am Leviathan, and I will be your guardian for the coming times."Following that, the water compresses and flowed to his hand, before materializing into the form of a new type of guitar designed by his soul to be the ultimate loud instrument... An electric guitar. Seeing this item in Axel's hands, his father sighed and began to take him home to explain the tale to his mother. This day marked the beginning of a new chapter in Axel's life, and the end of innocent days. Powers: -Artifact: Abyssal Tune, his (ironically named) electric guitar [See pic] -Summon Beast: Leviathan -Capabilities: Due to Axel's affinity with water and sound, the majority of his maneuvers all center around it. When Leviathan is summoned, the attacks improve in power as well as giving him a means of easier combat against larger enemies. Along with his hotblooded nature, he has a few skills already prepared to attack enemies with... -Skillset: Breakdown! - Axel generates a torrent of water beneath himself and slides along it, bashing over any enemy in his path with Abyssal Tune. Soundblade - Holding Abyssal Tune by the neck, he collects sound energy along the instrument and transforms it into a makeshift energy sword. Each attack sounds like the guitar itself has hit the enemy. Pressure Shot - Axel jams on Abyssal Tune, generating numerous spheres of water, before forcibly firing them at an enemy. In specific, he comes from the military outpost Genesis, ax extensive laboratory dedicated to the advancement of warfare through the enhancement, natural and artificial, of its soldiers. This cold laboratory is the birthground for the Tetragrammaton Project, dedicated to designing an army of Super Soldiers. This is the external part of the facility. Race: Cyber-Human. Referred to as such due to the modifications done to his body. Is not truly mechanical in any way. Appearance: Zayin stands at a height of 5'6, weighing around 148 lbs. His hair, as blue as his eyes are, is rather dramatic, grown out wildly and swept primarily to the left, Though he can only see out one eye in this way, he has no problem with it, as he feels it gives enemeis more of a chance against him. Carries a chain with a cross attached to it, effectively acting as his identification with the Tetragrammaton Project. Personality: At first glance, he appears to be cold and emotionless. In actuallity, he is quite antagonistic and almost borderline sociopathic. The numerous modifcations to his body has left him with an irritable outlook on things, and he likes nothing better than to alleviate stress by destroying something. Raised almost exclusively in a militant 'battle for survival' lifestyle, the inevitable clash with the world beyond Ideon will surely bear harshly upon him. A bizarre quick in his genetics leaves him with an unnatural likeness for coffee, though seems to gain no benefits or negatives from ingesting it. History: In the turbulent times of Ideon, the loss of soldiers was a commonplace setback in any military operation. However, one side devised a special project, meant not only to bolster the numbers of their army, but also put forth soldiers forced into a higher caliber than the average soldier. With accumulated funds, the Tetragrammaton Project was put under way at the Research Laboratory and Military Outpost 'Genesis'. The purpose of this project was simple: The quick creation and selection of soldiers who performed above and beyond accepted natural parameters, leading to higher survival rates and kill ratios on the battlefield. In theory, the project seemed to be good, but the practice was nothing short of a nightmare. After the initial set of training, the best recruits were to be selected, with the remaining ones either given a second chance or discarded outright. From there on, came the next set of horrendous experiments. Taking it upon themselves, they began to personally modify, through genetic manipulation and other means, each successful 'soldier' and began to test them repeatedly. If modifcations did not prove to be adequate, they would be modified again and again until they met the standards of the Tetragrammaton Project. Once they passed testing, they were to be divided into one of four classes: Asher, Reuben, Levi, or Dinah. At the same time, they would earn their last names and full identities. Zayin's story begins with the Asher class, being one of the two male turnout classes, second only to the Reuben class and parallel to the Levi class. Despite reaching one of the four classes, training may not necessarily end for them, and in his case it did not. Tetragrammaton Soldiers are thrown into live combat almost immediately, testing their capabilities and modifications without warning and only truly accepting those that survive. Failure is met with death and nothing else. Surviving this final, hellish test has allowed Zayin to past the Tetragrammaton Soldier testing and seen him enlisted officially as a combat-capable soldier. From here on, his bloody destiny truly begins, and will reveal that he'll be fighting more than merely other humans, supersoldiers, and robots... Powers: As a Tetragrammaton Soldier, his body has been modified to be capable of varying feats that outstrip that of normal humans. The most famous of which is the Naphtali Aleph, belonging to Tetragrammaton Soldier and ace pilot Aleph Asher, the flagship soldier of the project. Name: Kayn Reinard di Astralia Age: 25 Sex: Male Orientation: Straight as an arrow pointed at every cute girls' heart, Polygamist
World: Gaea, Heretic Empire of Astralia. Astralia (Notes): Meaning “The Country of Stars” Astralia is situated on an isolated small continent of Gaea where a major number of the research center facilities were located. When the AIs decided to take over and ban technology the people in there rebelled with the support of a single AI charged of running the installations. Due to system programmings the other AIs couldn't interfere with the decision but decided to isolate the area from the rest of the world and took a significative part of the datas about running the place with them. As a result Astralia possess some technogical culture while lacking most of the structures to gather the prime materials and highly advanced techs especially the ones about manipulating ambiental energy that is used only as a power source.. On the opposite side ancient techs from the protoculture are present in everyday life. The country is led by a council of representatives from the eight Noble Houses that assist the Emperor, it's a pretty illuminate government that places high values in human rights. Sometimes but not as often as one would expect Caput Draconis, the AI in control of the facilities intervene to settle disputes amongst the representatives though for the most it prefers to observe them. On the mainland of the planet only the most prominent personality knows of Astralia, never speaking in public of it so it's like the mainland simply ignores the existance of the heretic country. Astralia on his side always watched over the struggles on the mainland, never directly intervening in any conflict. At least until Shadowbeasts came out.
Race: Enhanced Humans from Project S.I.D.H.E. 'Syncronized Interfacing (Between) Dragoons (and) Humans Experiment'. The inhabitants of Astralia basically humans who's bodies and minds were tuned for faster reaction and processing, designed to better interface with the 'Dragoons' combat weapons. Caput Draconis decided to improve their design after the scission with the other AIs, this lead to genetical imperfections that makes childbirth a rare event.
Appearance: A slender figure with long black hair and pale skin due to pratically lack of any honest work. Not really muscolar and with dark eyes as well he may be considered somewhat attractive but not really a beauty. Has a preference for black clothes and wears almost everytime his ultralight personal armor and his heirloom sword. ORIENTATIVE PIC Personality: A decent guy that wont fall in the 'nice' or 'good' categories. While not actively an asshole his ways and morals are often questionable as he will always prioritize himself over anyone else. As a Knight he's honour bound to his word but that simply means he almost never gives it, as a member of the Heretic People he's allowed from the other AIs to travel the mainland due to the shadow beasts issue but he has to keep a low profile. History: Firstborn of the Emperor he gave up on his rights to the throne in favor of his brother who was born 'defective'. Despite everyone else saw that likr a gesture of kindness. as the sick brother wasn't expected to fulfill the role of First Knight of the Empire, Kayn true motives simply involved traveling the world and looking good in front of people. He understood his brother was going to die, prolly being unable even to get a heir from his wife so he simply decided to give himself some fun traveling, letting everyone else believe he was a thoughtful brother and placate his curiousity over the Shadowbeasts. As the Dragoon Knights Order wouldn't allow the Shadowbeasts on Astralia territory he was sent on the mainland to provide accurate informations about the effects of this menace on the planet.
Powers: Enhanced Speed\Reflexes, Claiomh Solais (Sword, Artifact), a bastard-type sword with incredibly sharp and light blade, made of psy-conductive alloy to channel the Dragoon energy while on fusion mode. A relic from protoculture era passed down through the generations. Combat Armor: Made of ultralight alloy like the sword is meant to be used by someone who controls a Dragoon, on a degree it can absorb ambiental energy to improve its resistance and even regenerate minor damages but gives the best when it can link and use energy from a Dragoon. Yet to be named Dragoon: A Biotechnological weapon developed in the days of protoculture. Many classes amongst Dragoons exist and depending on the class and sync with their master different abilities and powers are available to them. This specific one can merge with its master greatly enhancing any physical ability, turn into a giant sized, dragon shaped biomechanical beast or giant sized armored humanoid shaped biomechanical unit. In both cases the master resides in a blue glowing nucleos on the chest of the Dragoon. The Draconic form is the long-range mode, able to fire energy beams from various emitters on the body while the Armored form is the close combat unit armed with the size equivalent of Claiomh Solais,
