Location Alvar Academy for Young Mages; Sefirah Date September 7th Time 13:00 hour
The day many juvenile mages across the realm had been waiting for finally arrived. The Alvar Academy had opened it's gates for all of it's students, both returning and new. Hugs and tears were exchanged as parents stood with their teens while they said their goodbyes before the students were escorted through the 70 ft crystal gates that surrounded the campus. It seemed that even some of the academy's own staff were moved by the precious moments exchanged between parents and their almost grown offspring. Students mingled amongst themselves making their introductions or those who have returned for their second and third years sharing the events of their summer.
"...It's so beautiful..." a young raven haired woman sniffled with her hands clasped together and her eyes shedding tears as her heart was moved. "It's like this every year...the beginning of the semester and graduation. I just....I just can't take it! Can you feel the love radiating around us, Veronica?" the woman asked whilst looking to her blonde companion. The blonde woman seemed less than amused by her friend's bleeding heart and merely closed her eyes and shook her head at the other's blubbering.
"I feel like this day needs to speed up. The orientation ceremony is always so draining...then next week is the festival....it's just going to be a long two weeks, Raina." the blonde woman opened her eyes once more as more students passed by her. Specifically a few males that seemed to earn a grunt of appreciation from her. "Though perhaps it won't be as bad as it's been playing out in my mind..."
"...They're students, Veronica." Raina's eyes narrowed. "Minors."
"I'm trying to figure out when the hell 16 and 17 year olds started getting built like that. Is there some new potion supplement that's been circling around on the drug scene?" Veronica pondered.
"I think it's called well balanced diet and exercise." Raina replied nonchalantly. "But I believe it is time for us to head to Galdr Hall. The Grand Master will be starting the ceremony soon."
"Very well. Let's get this day over with." Veronica nodded and walked the paved path from the gates towards the main entrance of the academy with Raina in tow. Meanwhile four shadowed figures stood upon the grand arches set before the school. Two human shaped, the other two no larger than puppies. A single ray of the sun's light partially revealed their appearance: two males; one sporting sparkling gold chest exposed armor, his left hand rested upon his hip. Next to him stood the other figure who was slightly taller, more red samurai-like attire, headband dancing in the wind while his arms were folded over his chest. At their feet were two small winged mammals. One rainbow colored with butterfly like wings and feathery moth-like antennae, the other possessed white shaggy fur with feathered wings and several horns protruding from it's head.
"Veronica Elwyn and Raina Oakley...two of Alvar's finest instructors...yet I cannot say I miss them." the gold clad warrior shook his head as his sight left the two teachers and looked down to his furred companions. "Falk...are they here?"
"They're close." the white furred creature responded and raised his muzzle to the air, taking in a strong whiff. "Very close. Though they're not the only ones here..." he growled lowly.
"I figured that." the young man responded with a small frown. "This day will prove to be a test for them then. But we still need to retrieve her. We will not stand a chance for what's ahead without her powers. Iris," he glanced down to the rainbow schemed creature to his left. "I will need you to make a trip to Earth."
"Not a problem. " Iris nodded. "I will not let you down, my lords." she spoke to both men before her fluttering wings picked her up from the arch and began to carry her into the distance, leaving a trail of sparkles in her wake.
"Way to be obvious, Iris." the gold clad male sighed scrubbing a hand over his face. "Until she gets back, we just play the waiting game. " his lips curled into a small smirk as his might went to thinking of a certain gloomy prince of darkness who would be making his appearance here under his instruction. "Soon, my friend your destiny will become clear."
"...You're thinking of another guy and smirking." Falk said rather bluntly as he looked up to the other male clad in red and white. "Are you okay with this?"
"...Shut up, Falk." the male in gold sweat dropped.
Location Portland, Maine Date September 7th Time 12 am
"SHOTS! SHOTS! SHOTS!"
The crowd cheered through the pulsing music blaring through the speakers. The youth of Portland High School had gathered for their last party of the summer before the new school year. The drinks were poured and small glasses of tequila were passed out amongst the those in attendance. They were immediately knocked back and hands reached for more. The foam and bubbles poured from the machine onto the party hostess' pool deck leaving all in it's wake covered in suds. They didn't seem to care as they continued to dance, high on life....some high on other things.
"Like, Gretchen throws the most rad parties ever! This totally rocks!" said a black haired girl. Her name was Bianca Christensen, also known as the Party Rat as she was seen at every party thrown in by the student body and even some college kids despite not really knowing them. She was about 3 beers and 4 tequila shots into the night and showed no signs of stopping soon.
"Lucille! Like, get over the mopey attitude! Clean up your grump and have another drink! You've been nursing that Vodka and Cranberry for the last hour! Seriously!" she shouted to the blonde girl posted against the wall next to her with a red plastic cup in hand. Her hair was tied back into twin pigtails held in place by black and purple bands. Silver crescent moons dangled from the lobes of her ears and her attire for the evening consisted of a simple black halter top dress with a pink cardigan sweater and a pair of black heeled sandals.
"O-M-G. Okay, like so what if you came here with Austin and Gretchen totally kidnapped and took him to her room and they haven't been seen for the past 2 hours. Like, get over it. There are plenty of other guys here!" Bianca laughed.
"..." Lucille shot a side glance to Bianca. "Aside from the fact that Austin and I have been dating for the past 3 weeks? Forgive me if I'm a bit miffed!" the blonde shouted. "Stupid Gretchen and her big fancy house, candy red mercedes, fat checking account, perfect tanned skinned and sculpted body..."
"Don't forget flawless hair like silk..." Bianca added.
"Not helping!" Lucille threw her cup to the ground, spilling it's contents.
"O-M-G! What is wrong with you!? That was a good vodka and cranberry! You criminal!" Bianca screamed.
"Whatever." Lucille sighed stepping over the mess. "It's 12 am....I'm heading home. I have to....keep looking for the college I want to attend. You know, sophomore year, it's time to get cracking on that stuff."
"...You're just going to go home, lock your doors, turn down all the lights and watch Magic Mike." Bianca responded with a smirk. "Then you'll get depressed over Austin, cry and then eat whatever you have left of the tub of Oreo ice cream you have in your freezer."
"....You don't know me!" Lucille pointed to the other girl as her expression expressed hurt. Yes, it seemed Bianca knew her far too well and she did not appreciate being read like she had been. "Enjoy the party." were her final words before storming off from the pool deck...but not before grabbing a doughnut for the road from the table of party food that had been set up.
Lucille stormed through the pint sized mansion that was Gretchen Johnson's home and exited through the front door. Only half the doughnut remained as she shuffled through the front lawn. Before the final bite could be taken, the blonde found herself eating green as she tripped over a sprinkler and fell face forward into the grass.
"...damn it, even her grass is perfect!" she thought while finding it irresistible to not nuzzle her face against the softness of the lawn. After a few moments she finally rolled over onto her back and released a soft sigh as she started up into the night sky. Viewing the moon and the stars. They were so gorgeous that night and it would have been romantic to view them with Austin....if he hadn't been taken by Gretchen.
"...huh?" Lucille's eyes squinted as she could see an intense shine of bright light in the distance. Perhaps it was an airplane? Though it seemed too eerie for that to be the case. Her eyes closed for another moment before opening them again.
"..." Her body stiffened as her eyes were now locked with rainbow furred creature. The very same from before. It's butterfly wings fluttering to keep it hovered above the girl. While the creature wore an expression of gentleness, Lucille's face was frozen with wide-eyed terror. "Oh god....they spiked the punch. I knew someone would. I shouldn't have had any!" she whined. "I'm tripping balls....seeing mutated Care Bears..."
"Actually...I'm not a Care Bear. I'm a Ku-Sith and my name is Iris!" the creature's smiled widened as it chuckled. "I've come for you, Lucille."
"...And...you talk? Oh man, my brain is going to be swiss cheese by the time whatever was in that punch wears off...." the blonde whined.
(( OOC: Loooong post but needed to set up. Yes, Avalon's time is basically military time and it's 12 hours ahead of the EST Timezone, woo.
Alright, so it's orientation weekend at the Academy, so everyone should be arriving on campus which is huge. It's easily about 5 miles in diameter. In front of the main entrance through the gates is the main courtyard complete with a large sparkling white water fountain.
Feel free to have your characters meet each other or make up some NPC students to mingle with since this is a school setting and classmates are kind of important to have. Your characters could have probably even noticed and grew suspicious of Iris' sparkling trail left in the sky as she ventured through a portal to Earth.
Kuno, feel free to have Wanda do her thing and creep on the kiddies and festivities. ))

"DIE!!! AHAHAHAHAHA!!!!!"
As soon as the blast went off, all hell seemed to break loose. Students were screaming in terror at the sudden attack, some even sent flying as a result of the projectile attack hitting their table. Adamah, however, reacted differently. As soon as the chaos began, he quickly stood up and shoved his seat aside, before he grabbed Lucille's hand to pull her out of her seat and to him. From there, he crouched down, attempting to get her to do the same. "Ugh... Why now? I thought I was done with this..." he muttered quietly.
He hadn't gotten a good look at the insurgents, but he was amazed any of them managed to get inside in the first place. However, all this did was remind him of what happened on his own world... Except this time, he was helping someone else instead of trying to run away. However... He felt like he could do nothing in this situation, nothing to fight back... Much like his world. All he could do was keep running, until someone else intervened.
All of these panic-induced thoughts and concerns, however, soon took a backseat as he looked to Lucille, trying to force a smile. "Sorry about that... Guess I was a little rough, but... It's not the first time this happened to me. I just hope it's the last."

"DIE!!! AHAHAHAHAHA!!!!!"
Tokio's reaction was, understandably, different compared to others. Raising his head as soon as he heard the shout and the calamity, he got up and scowled, looking at the intruders. He stood with no fear, reaching over to grab his chair and fling it at the imp that had attacked moments before.
"Oi, you! You look like something my mom and dad kill on a daily basis." Tokio sneered, folding his arms. He always remembered his mom and dad telling him he'd inherited their powers, just that he couldn't control them as well. Part of him wished that he knew exactly how to bring about their power... Still, it wouldn't stop him from fighting back.
"Maybe this'll be a fun year after all..." he grinned, his yellow-ish eyes narrowing in avid amusement.

"DIE!!! AHAHAHAHAHA!!!!!"
"Oi, you! You look like something my mom and dad kill on a daily basis."
"It's nice to see children looking forward to follow their parents' steps." Azhrarn said with an ironic tune as he looked to whatever form of creature was attacking them. "...obviously this ending into two planets at war with each other because of their ancestors' actions..."
The Dark Prince trailed off, as he looked at the attacking creatures. "And well, for being the top tier school insitution, this place security kinda is seriously disappointing..." He said as he pulled out from under his cape a sword made of black metal, obviously crafted by Annwyn artisans.
By this point he didn't really bothered about the others as he moved to a spot that was free of furniture, so that he could hold his defensive stance better. He wasn't seriously interested into challenging the creature, he even hoped the havoc they were going to caue would be enough to close the place and let him return to a less socially involved life.

"ENOUGH!" Headmaster Lucius' voice boomed as he stood to his feet from his chair. "Get the students to safety! Everyone get to safety!" he ordered to his staff. It had become all to surreal for him. Someone plotted an attack on his school; clearly it had been planned from within as the barrier around the campus was put in place after all the students had been escorted to the hall. He had his eyes set on one of the Imps, and with his hand raised; energy had begun to gather around it.
"Interitum Inflatus!" a blast of magical energy was released upon the Imp, completely destroying it. The ripple of a reptilian figure came into view once more before two green shots were fired upon the Headmaster. Within moments, he felt his body become rigid, feeling the effects of whatever the spell that hit him coming over his body. Soon enough his body had shifted from flesh to stone, his pain ridden face frozen in petrifaction.
"..." Lucille stared on as monsters had decided to barge into the dining fall. So her dream had shifted into some kind of zany nightmare. Not that she was complaining. She had been a Harry Potter fan and what was happening now seemed like just another epic evening at Hogwarts. She found herself being taken by the hand and forced to duck down out of sight from the imp creatures.
"Sorry about that... Guess I was a little rough, but... It's not the first time this happened to me. I just hope it's the last."
"Oh...you're fine." Lucille said with a smile. "It's alright...I'm sure I'll wake up. And I won't remember any of this. Which sucks...this is kind of one of the best dreams I've ever had." Lucille chuckled.
Then a student that had been assaulted by one of the 3 imps ran by, his clothing ablaze as he screamed from the pain of being burned alive. Lucille bit her lower lip...she could actually smell the horrid scent of hair and flesh and to see the grizzly sight before the student fell onto the ground motionless. "I'll wake up any moment now..." she said closing her eyes. In truth she was starting to actually fear what was going on behind her. "...This...can't be real. None of this..." she spoke to herself as she reopened her eyes to glance upwards at the live mural on the ceiling. The massive glowing flower crystal had caught her sight again. Those royal purple eyes grew vacant and the celestial symbol upon her forehead began to rear itself once more, this time emitting brilliant rays of light.
"Ah...sssssso you're the one whossssssse blood I musssssst ssssssssspill" a dark, but feminine voice spoke, accompanied by what sounded like the rattle of a rattle snake. From the wall, emerged another creature de-camouflaged and showing her true form while smiling evilly to Lucille and Adamah as she brandished her 5 inch claws. "And many more will die following your demise." she hissed again, smacking away the body of the burnt student with her tail. "Out the way, handsome." she sneered to Adamah. "I'll tear you open after I'm done with blondie here."
Meanwhile Lucille remain frozen, in her trance-like state completely unaware of the threat on her life.
"Hey!" another voice called as another bright flash appeared. A portal similar to the one Lucille had fallen from earlier emerged between the creature and the two teens, with the very same rainbow colored Ku-Sith, Iris, making her reappearance. "Don't you lay a claw on her or him, or any of these students, you damn Lamia!" she demanded. "Well, particularly her, him, him, her, him and her." she added pointing to Lucille, Adamah, Azhrarn , Faroosa, Tokio and Adri respectively.
"...Thank you for pointing out the ones I need to kill first." the lamia smirked, her tongue parting her lips to trail along one of her claws.
"...Oh, did I do that?" Iris blinked and sweatdropped. "Heh, whoops." the Ku-Sith turned back to see Lucille entranced with the symbol upon her forehead. "...You know I was kind of hoping I had the wrong blonde but...I guess I was right....damn it." she sighed. "Adamah!...Yes, I know your name, where you're from all you've been through Horologia, the inheritance of your king's powers and your destiny. But that's not the point, the point is, protect that girl? You got that?" She turned to speak to the others. "I know she has the IQ of a rock but if she dies, we are screwed. All of you fight and make sure that nothing happens to her!...Oh, I guess I should give you all your powers now." the Ku-Sith spoke raising into the air. Her antennae began to shine, shooting forth a beam of energy towards each of the students Iris had listed, sans Lucille. "Embrace your destinies...Rune Mages, awaken!"
"Ha! No challenge for me, I'll rip you all open!" the lamia hissed bolting forwards with her claws brandished for Lucille's throat.
((OOC: Okay, yay! So the first moment you've all been waiting for. Couple things:
1) The beams that have struck your characters in their forehead? It'll trigger each of your characters respective signs and once it begins to glow, go ahead and have them henshin for the first time. The staff are busy escorting students out...except the headmaster...cause he got stoned.
2) Since the headmaster destroyed one Imp, that leaves us with 3 enemies. Faroosa and Tokio pair up to take on one Imp, Adri and Azzie pair on to take on the other. They're strong, but with your new powers, you'll be able to handle them. Since the others are busy drawing the Imps' attention away from the students and are combating them, it'll be up to Adamah to hold off the Lamia....which won't be an easy feat since it'll take all of us to defeat her. She's got claws that can slash through soft metal and her tail can easily smash stoke....oh, and she can petrify like Medusa so...yeah. Any questions, feel free to ask me. Have fun. 8D ))

"Oh...you're fine. It's alright...I'm sure I'll wake up. And I won't remember any of this. Which sucks...this is kind of one of the best dreams I've ever had."
"... Yeah..." he smiled, albeit forced, truly hoping it really was just a dream. He didn't have the nerve to tell her everyone was dying around her for real... Maybe he was being too naive, but even he wished it was a dream... After all, he'd seen similar work on his homeworld.
The Headmaster of the school had begun to shout for everyone to run to safety, and based on the chaos and calamity that was going on right now, that's exactly what everyone was doing... Just disorganized. However, things took a small turn for the worst as a new creature appeared and petrified their Headmaster, leaving him to watch as the calamity went on without his interference. Noticing this, Adamah looked towards the creature in question, before he gripped Lucille tighter. "N-no way... What the hell are you...?" he asked quietly, trying to push himself back slowly to hide begind one of the tables, until the creature saw them and began to advance.
"Out the way, handsome. I'll tear you open after I'm done with blondie here."
"Why am I getting complimented by a MONSTER, of all things!?" was the first thought that came to his mind as he eyed the creature, before he narrowed his eyes and continued to move back a bit. "Sorry lady, but i'm the appetizer here. You can have her after you go through me, and I promise you, i'm not going down easy." he muttered, attempting to sound brave compared to all of the fear he was feeling right this very minute. At the least, if she woke up in time, she could run before she had to see him getting turned into a meal by the snake woman...
Thankfully, the voice of a familiar entity drew Adamah's attention, making him believe that everything was going to go alright after all.
"Hey! Don't you lay a claw on her or him, or any of these students, you damn Lamia! Well, particularly her, him, him, her, him and her."
"...Thank you for pointing out the ones I need to kill first."
... Or perhaps just speed up the whole process...
"Not helping!" Adamah shouted at Iris, though nevertheless taking the moment to begin to right himself, slowly standing up with Lucille in his arms. He looked around quickly, trying to locate one of the exits... Until it became a moot point as the Ku-Sith continued to speak.
"Adamah!...Yes, I know your name, where you're from all you've been through Horologia, the inheritance of your king's powers and your destiny. But that's not the point, the point is, protect that girl? You got that? I know she has the IQ of a rock but if she dies, we are screwed. All of you fight and make sure that nothing happens to her!...Oh, I guess I should give you all your powers now. Embrace your destinies...Rune Mages, awaken!"
Okay, so the Ku-Sith knew his name... Nothing out of the ordinary since he announced it at the fountain. But she knew his homeworld and- Wait...
"... What?" he spoke, in perhaps the flattest, most deadpan tone he could afford to speak in this dire situation. He inherited what, and where was he? "King's... Powers... And destiny...?" he asked, before it suddenly came back to him. Yes, oh Horologia before he'd been forced to leave, he remembered helping the man when he was on his last few moments, and he'd been given a strange boost of energy by the man. But he thought it was just a boost to what he had originally. Did that whole sequence... End with the guy shifting nobility to HIM before he died!? He looked blank for a moment, looking down at Lucille for the time being, even as the ray of light began to shine from Iris over himself and the others. The last thing he recalled from the Ku-Sith was... Rune Mages...
"Ha! No challenge for me, I'll rip you all open!"
... Awaken?
Suddenly, a burst of purple energy emanated from the boy, rooting the creature in place for the time being while Adamah slowly turned away and moved towards one of the knocked-over tables. Kneeling down, he set the girl down against it, leaning forward to plant a small peck on her cheek with a smile. "Stay safe now..." he whispered, before he stood up and turned to face the creature.
"Now, I told you... You'd have to go through me before you could have her. I wasn't kidding." he started, crossing his arms infront of himself. "I also wasn't kidding about going down easy... Transform!!" he shouted, his Runic Symbol tracing the ground he stood beneath as he slowly rose up. in moments, his clothing began to disintegrate in seconds, like it had fallen apart into sand or some other similar material. Just as quickly as it was destroyed did the material begin to apply itself to the boys body, but in a different shape. Rather than his usual clothing, he looked like he adorned some sort-of medieval mage outfit. Even he couldn't quite explain it, but he liked it.
Slowly, his form began to descend toward the ground, and that was when the most noticable change occured. As soon as his feet touched the ground, a pair of greaves began to materialize upon his feet, before he held his hands out. Much like the footwear, a pair of gauntlets manifested over his hands and forearms, before he began to speak. "By the power of the Earth, and the forces that embraces us, I will end you. Know my name, Rune-Quasar!" he announced, shattering the glyph and pointing at the Lamia.
This... Was certainly new. Sure, gravitational powers on his planet wasn't uncommon, but THIS was... It felt like thatever this transformation did, it was multiplying the formant power he held within him, more than easily allowing him to access it without too much difficulty. He raised his leg, looking toward the Naga with a grin... Before he stamped down, generating a small quake that began to damage the ground as it traveled towards the snake woman to throw her off-balance.
===
Well, that was quick. The Imp tokio had thrown a chair at was immediately vaporized by the Headmaster. Unfortunately, the Headmaster himself had been rendered unable to continue fighting due to the intervention of another creature, one more powerful than the trash he was currently looking at. "Well... Isn't that unfortunate." was all he could afford to say at the stoning of the Headmaster, before he turned to the Imps. "Alright, which of you rotten pests are next?" he asked, glaring at the other two creatures.
Suffice to say, most of what was going on with Adamah and Lucille didn't interest him at the immediate moment, nor did the arrival of the Ku-Sith to let the villain know just who were the high-priority targets there. Most importantly, he was blissfully unaware of being one of those singled out among the rest of the student body at the academy, but what DID catch his attention was...
"I know she has the IQ of a rock but if she dies, we are screwed. All of you fight and make sure that nothing happens to her!...Oh, I guess I should give you all your powers now. Embrace your destinies...Rune Mages, awaken!"
"... Are you kidding? I've seen rocks smarter than-" he started to say, before the beam of light struck his forehead, causing him to go blank for the moment as he looked up at the ceiling. New thoughts were flowing into his mind, information that wasn't there before... Or was it, and the light had just dragged it up front? He became aware of the power he'd inherited from his mother and father, but now this light seemed to place a great deal of emphasis on it before magnifying it to new levels. Was it possible that...
He could use it now?
Slowly, he lowered his tilted head, hia gaze behind closed eyes now looking at the floor as he raised his left hand before his face. Beneath him, an unusual symbol began to generate, along with a new object within the boy's hand: Closed, it seemed to be a type of japanese fan, albeit it a bit bigger than normal. Without warning, his clothing began to break apart and peel away, floating around him much like the cherry blossoms he recalled his mother summoned, allowing him to float for a moment. A moment later, his eyes snapped open to reveal a furious gaze, as the large war fan flipped open, revealing an arrangement of 5 blades along the weapon. With a spin, the articles of clothes scattered like blossoms to the wind.
The very same articles of clothing now began to disintegrate, turning into a vile, dark mist that began to envelope his body. An aspect reminiscent of his father, who had mastery over aspects of Darkness itself. A moment later, one could hear the tap of something touching down, before the boy began to stroll out of the dark mist, now dressed in what could only be described as something akin to an assassin who dabbled in the art of magic. Raising the fan, he held it across his chest as he addressed the Imp. "The embrace of nature and the comfort of darkness... I am Rune-Mandrake. By my will, you will know suffering!" he finished, the glyph shattering to complete the transformation.
Now this was a new one for him... He wasn't aware neither his mother or father needed to do this to use their powers, but it felt... Over-the-top, maybe? He wondered why his enemy hadn't taken the time to attack him while he was transforming, although maybe the glyph had something to do with it. Ontop of that, the weapon... He eyed the unusual fan with mild indifference at first, before he smiled, one he made sure almost no one could see. "Mom... Dad... Still watching over me, huh? ... Pains in the ass." he thought to himself, more a joke than anything, as he glared at the Imp.
"Alright, now where was I? ... Oh, yeah, this." he started, swinging the fan out. "Dread Vine!" he announced, as the ground around him began to uproot, revealing numerous black tendrils that whipped and lashed about, before rushing toward the Imp to try and stab it. In response, the creature deftly out of the way of the approaching vines, before it screeched.
"Gross, what kind of Rune-Mage are you, you wannabe rapist!?" the Imp shouted, causing Tokio to stumble slightly at the vile accusation. At the same time, however, the Imp readied two blasts of fire in its hands and quickly launched them, one at Tokio and one towards... Faroosa? "Now die!"

It was amazing how everything descended into chaos so quickly... and it also did not make sense.
"And well, for being the top tier school insitution, this place's security kinda is seriously disappointing..."
"The defenses of this Academy are not supposed to be easily penetrable," Faroosa noted. "Either an extremely powerful entity has attacked, or someone within the walls has channels these hostile entities within. The latter option is the more unlikely, since all sentient entries are scanned by the gate-keeping protocols, however it cannot be ruled out as a statistical aberration. There are a number of reasons why such an attack is taking place-"
"Ah...sssssso you're the one whossssssse blood I musssssst ssssssssspill And many more will die following your demise."
"...A lamia," the purple-haired girl stated, her eyes narrowing. "Its chief physical weapons are its claws and its tail, and its chief ability is-" she glanced off to the frozen Headmaster, "-petrification. It is a Medium-class monster that requires particular skill and power to summon and-"
"Hey!"
Faroosa looked up, and blinked.
"Don't you lay a claw on her or him, or any of these students, you damn Lamia! Well, particularly her, him, him, her, him and her."
Faroosa blinked again.
"...Thank you for pointing out the ones I need to kill first."
"...Oh, did I do that? Heh, whoops."
For a few moments, the girl did not speak, as her brow furrowed and her mind raced to process the ramifications of what had just been said.
"I know she has the IQ of a rock but if she dies, we are screwed. All of you fight and make sure that nothing happens to her!...Oh, I guess I should give you all your powers now. Embrace your destinies...Rune Mages, awaken!"
...or the Ku-Sith could just spell it out. Wait, Rune Mages?
"What do-" But that was as far as she got before the beam of light hit her.
Power. Was this power flowing through her? She had never felt anything like this before. And words were forming in her mind, as well as an image... an image she knew very well indeed...
Faroosa smiled. In her mind's eye, she reached out, and grasped the image.
"Transform!"
In a flash, Faroosa whipped out a piece of paper, and it shuddered before exploding outwards in a shower of paper fragments, seemingly ripping up her clothing along with it. As Faroosa floated in the air, hands splayed to either side, the bits of blank paper swirled around, somehow always covering the really important bits from any curious viewer, before they folded outwards and layered onto the girl. At the same time, a separate bunch of paper coalesced together, hardening into wood and shaping itself into a Chinese calligraphy pen; the brush gave a twirl, before it moved on its own volition, painting in elaborate patterns of red and white, that seemed to form some form of painted outfit. At the same time, the ribbons in her hair became undone, and floated freely in an unfelt wind, its purple color bleaching into a dark brown. After a short moment, the brush spun in place, before zipping to the front of Faroosa. The girl reached out her hand, and grasped the brush firmly; then, from the hand onwards, the 'painted outfit' transformed into an actual outfit...
The outfit of a Rune Witch.
Faroosa swept the pen to one side, letting a few drops of 'ink' drip onto the floor, and flashed a V-sign, a grin on her face.
"Knowledge is Power, and Power is Knowledge. The Brilliant Rune-Papyrus has arrived!"
"Now die!"
And apparently not a moment too soon.
"Palisade!!" Faroosa swept her brush in front of her, and more drops of 'ink' splayed onto the floor - before the dots exploded into a barrage of wooden spikes, intercepting the fireball and also utterly destroying the table at the same time. The girl's smile widened, as she eyed the Imp.
"An imp. Chief weapons: claws. Main attack: fireballs. A Minor-class monster, usually needing numbers to make up for the lack of intellectual ability. Congratulations, you have just volunteered to be the first test subject of my Rune powers." And her eyes gleamed.

"Well, particularly her, him, him, her, him and her."
Azhrarn felt the need to sweatdrop at the Ku-Sith's move. As the Lamia actually pointed out, this was the best way to give out whom to be attacked, if not for some hidden reasons the beast could have, just in spite of his naive challenge.
"I know she has the IQ of a rock but if she dies, we are screwed. All of you fight and make sure that nothing happens to her!...Oh, I guess I should give you all your powers now."
"You missed to point out she has the same grace of a Northwind's Troll trying to date a Fairy Princess..." Azhrarn said simply. "...and..."
He was going to add something else, something that with good chances was going to give the Ku-Sith seconds thoughts on awakening his powers, but he wasn't fast enough or the fairy creature was too fast and the boy head got hit by the ray of light.
Others' were going to be fancier, but his awakening was pretty much made of the stuff nightmares were. His Runic Brand appeared on his forehead for a split second before his sword started to glow of a dark, cold, aura and his own shadow turned against him, enlarging, eveloping his figure into a sphere of pure darkness. Something like the pale faces of silent screaming ghosts appeared around the spherical surface, as no sound came from the inside of it.
To know his powers, Azhrarn had be forced to face himself as Darkness can do that sometimes. Preventing distractions so that one couldn't look away from his true nature and realize.
"NOOOOOO!"
It wasn't a scream of terror, but one of pain, the one with which the shadows retreated into the shapes of a cape on the back of a completely different attire wearing Azhrarn, the longsword he was holding at first now being a bigger one and yet hold in the same right hand as easily as the smaller counterpart. The dark prince's eyes distant, melancholic, looking at the Ku-Sith as seemed to ignore the approaching imp.
"If you know who us are..." He questioned the fairy beast with a tune as distand and melancholic as his eyes. "...do you really believe is wise to ask me to protect another girl or this world?" There wasn't anger in his words, just curiousity, especially at the strange request given his previous failures on a similar task.
As the imp charged in, the vile creature found itself jumping into nothting more than a black cloud of shadows, Azhrarn appearing out of a similar one just few steps on the side.
"So that's it..." He said with nonchalant voice. "...you're not going to ignore me even if I was to ignore you? Dont blame me for the Fate you have choose by your own hands..." He grabbed his sword both hands and assumed a stance. He didn't asked for one, but there was no way he was going to back off from a fight.

As the fireball closed in on tokio, he sighed and swung the fan out against the projectile, smashing it into little but embers that passed by him harmlessly. "Try again, pest." he muttered, as another figure completed their transformation behind him... The same target of the other fireball, Faroosa.
"An imp. Chief weapons: claws. Main attack: fireballs. A Minor-class monster, usually needing numbers to make up for the lack of intellectual ability. Congratulations, you have just volunteered to be the first test subject of my Rune powers."
"Everything with you's a test or an explanation, isn't it?" Tokio asked, as he slowly turned to look at Faroosa, before his eyes narrowed. Her outfit was... Well, revealing, for a lack of better terms. Sure it was quite regal-looking and all, but the way her smooth thighs were bared to the world, along with the subtle glimpse of her well-shaped waist, topped off by a near-unhealthy dose of overboob beneath threads that barely covered anything made the boy facepalm. "For someone who overanalyzes things, modesty doesn't seem to be a concept you studied much..."
"S... She stopped my fire so easily!?" the Imp cried out, before it viewed the woman in question, a malicious grin crossing his features. "You're stronger than I thought! Maybe I should just bring you in rather than kill you. I'm sure my associates wouldn't mind being able to 'play' with a specimen like y- Argh!" the beast growled, as another of the Dread Vines suddenly swung out and slammed him across the face, throwing him into a nearby table.
"And you called ME a rapist!? You piece of bloody trash...!" he hissed... Before shaking his head and smiling to regain his composure. "Hmph, going by what she said, killing you would be an easy feat. So that's why i'm going to take the more fun route with this..." he trailed off, smirking as he looked to Faroosa.
"Tell me, what plans do you have for this wretched specimen? There are countless like him, and i'm sure no one would miss this one in particular. Please, by all means, go into excruciating detail. This might be one of the few times I don't mind a long-winded lecture." he spoke, stepping aside and allowing Faroosa to take center stage, so to speak, if only to hear how their foe was going to suffer at the hands of the overly-inquisitive woman.

"Everything with you's a test or an explanation, isn't it?"
"Everything about the universe can be tested and explained. It is merely a matter of the appropriate tests and explanations-"
"For someone who overanalyzes things, modesty doesn't seem to be a concept you studied much..."
"I have nothing to be modest about," Faroosa returned. "My intellectual abilities are superior to 98.243% of the known population, and my bodily proportions are in 95.23% conformity with classical Xian notions of beauty and desirability." She would had spoken further, but the Imp chose the moment to butt in.
"You're stronger than I thought! Maybe I should just bring you in rather than kill you. I'm sure my associates wouldn't mind being able to 'play' with a specimen like y- Argh!"
The girl watched as the Imp was slammed into the nearby table... then she chuckled.
"Tell me, what plans do you have for this wretched specimen? There are countless like him, and i'm sure no one would miss this one in particular. Please, by all means, go into excruciating detail. This might be one of the few times I don't mind a long-winded lecture."
"Indeed." Faroosa began to pace forward; with a twirl, her brush extended into a long slender staff, which she shouldered. "That which desires to experiment on others must be willing to undergo experimentation itself. This is a basic principle of proper moral scientific enquiry, though I freely admit that I do not follow such strictures 78.33% of the time. Regardless, that is not the interesting question that is being asked. The powers of a Rune Mage are of the type that I have only prior rumors and conjectures to go upon, but it seems that said rumors are conjectures are not far off the mark, so I simply must test these abilities thoroughly. First-"
In the next moment, the girl was right in front of the Imp, delivering an almighty smack with her staff-like brush. The startled Imp found itself smashed into another table.
"-A Rune Mage acquires much additional speed, strength and durability, as thus demonstrated," the Rune Witch continued. "Of course, I must ascertain the amount by which said physical attributes have been increased, but for now, a ballpark estimate will suffice, seeing that my usual measuring instruments are not with me. Second-"
This time Faroosa snapped her fingers. The Imp's eyes widened briefly, before it scampered away from the table - just as it exploded into more wooden spikes.
"-A Rune Mage gains a greatly enhanced affinity with a given element, as well as quite a great deal of control. I and 56.45% that this is only the surface of the potential that a Rune Mage is able to tap, but much study and experimentation is required-"
"You bitch!! Die!!" screamed the Imp, lobbing another fireball towards Faroosa... who simply swiped her Brush in front of her, much the same way as Tokio had earlier done, and effectively snuffed it out.
"-such as the durability of the Rune Mage's special weapon," the girl concluded, as if she hadn't just been attacked mid-speech. "Honestly, if there was more linear time available, I would be most pleased to pin you to the wall and dissect your internal organs, for this is the first time I have encountered monsters such as you in the flesh, and I am very eager to confirm the findings of Harolwam et al on the nature of magical monstrosities. However, linear time is a very limited resource-"
Another forest of spikes sprang up, halting the Imp's furious charge.
"-which is why I regret that I may not be able to fully preserve your physical integrity prior to detailed examination. It does not help that you are the active sort of specimen, which requires tools of containment that I currently do not possess. Such tools include-"
"Stop talking, damnit!" the Imp screamed. It was hard to tell if it was more enraged by its continued failure, or by the drone of the girl's speech.

"I have nothing to be modest about. My intellectual abilities are superior to 98.243% of the known population, and my bodily proportions are in 95.23% conformity with classical Xian notions of beauty and desirability."
"... Are you for real?" Toko asked, folding his arms as he looked at Faroosa, temporarily ignoring the Imp. "Where I come from, what you just said would basically translate as 'I don't have to worry about modesty because I know i'm sexy', is that right?" he asked, tilting his head to the side. "... Wait, did you just say your figure is about ideal for whatever your planet considers beautiful and desirable?" he asked, giving her another once over, before he shook his head. "Still sounds conceited to me." he muttered, shrugging.
What followed next was Faroosa's long-winded explanation on what she planned to do to the poor Imp, though rather than just explain in excruciating detail, she acted it out in real time. Within a moment, the creature was beaten halfway across the room and smashed into another table, while Tokio stood with arms folded watching with vicious amusement. Indeed, it reminded him of his aunt who delighted entirely too much in the misery of those that crossed her path with the intent to oppose her. Was it any small wonder the boy picked up on her tendencies? This was almost like a period of relaxation with a free show.
The Imp was quick to escape as it was nearly gored by the wooden spikes Faroosa made explode from the table, which made him eye the vines he used with idle curiosity. If she could affect wood, what was to say she couldn't utilize other forms of nature...? This was his own experime- Oh dammit, now he was doing it too!
The Imp had gotten lucky so far, but he was also getting quite angry, likely both at failing and being effectively talked to death. He'd almost sympathize with the creature if it didn't go and call him such a vile name. If nothing else, he was alright with putting the entity out of its misery. "Well, we can't hold onto this one, so i'll accept that as your willingness to dispose of it." he spoke, as he snapped his fan shut, before pointing forward at the Imp. Immediately, 6 tendril-like vines shot out from various areas around the Imp and began to close in on it, even encircling the creature to ensure it couldn't escape.
"So, Faroosa, you can make wooden tables explode into spikes... But what about these vines?" he asked, looking at her and giving her the go-ahead to check if it were possible.

. "By the power of the Earth, and the forces that embraces us, I will end you. Know my name, Rune-Quasar!"
"...How cute. Your little outfit ssssswitch isssssn't going to sssssave you, boy!" the lamia gave a witch-esque cackle as she sprang from the ground to avoid the small quake attack and dashed towards the blue haired youth. "Rune Mages are making a reemergence? Well, then I'll be greatly rewarded. I'm going to enjoy slaughtering you as I did your comrades on Caelestra!" Mid-air she swung her tail forward to strike at the Earth mage like a wrecking ball.
Meanwhile Iris floated towards Lucille, who's body remained against a turned over table where Adamah had placed her. Though Azhrarn's words had not been missed by her ears. "Your failures and sins of the past have nothing to do with the present, dark Prince!" the Ku-Sith retorted as she floated to Lucille's side. "If you wish to do justice to Dunizhel's memory, you will embrace your calling and protect both Lucille and this universe." the creature paused before the blonde girl, who still remained in her trance state gazing on blankly towards the combat around her.
"Wake up, princess..." Iris spoke in a determined tone. "Princess, wake up!" her paws pressed against the blonde's side shifting her weight in an attempt to shake her awake. "Please, they need you. Say something!"
"...One of them issss....ssssstill unawakened!" the lamia ginned looking over her shoulder. "She will be the first to go!" the blood red eyes of the golden snakes atop her head glowed before detaching themselves, launching towards Adamah with their mouths opened and fangs bared. Meanwhile, the lamia used the distraction to with her focus on what she intended to be her first kill and bolted forth towards both Lucille and Iris.
"Lucille! Wake! Up! Now! Ple- Oh no you don't!" the Ku-Sith switched her focus to erect a rainbow colored wall between her, Lucille and the lamia.
"You're only ssssstalling the inevitable!" the snake woman screamed slashing her claws at the barrier. "I will not dissssappoint my missstress!"
