Location Alvar Academy for Young Mages; Sefirah Date September 7th Time 13:00 hour
The day many juvenile mages across the realm had been waiting for finally arrived. The Alvar Academy had opened it's gates for all of it's students, both returning and new. Hugs and tears were exchanged as parents stood with their teens while they said their goodbyes before the students were escorted through the 70 ft crystal gates that surrounded the campus. It seemed that even some of the academy's own staff were moved by the precious moments exchanged between parents and their almost grown offspring. Students mingled amongst themselves making their introductions or those who have returned for their second and third years sharing the events of their summer.
"...It's so beautiful..." a young raven haired woman sniffled with her hands clasped together and her eyes shedding tears as her heart was moved. "It's like this every year...the beginning of the semester and graduation. I just....I just can't take it! Can you feel the love radiating around us, Veronica?" the woman asked whilst looking to her blonde companion. The blonde woman seemed less than amused by her friend's bleeding heart and merely closed her eyes and shook her head at the other's blubbering.
"I feel like this day needs to speed up. The orientation ceremony is always so draining...then next week is the festival....it's just going to be a long two weeks, Raina." the blonde woman opened her eyes once more as more students passed by her. Specifically a few males that seemed to earn a grunt of appreciation from her. "Though perhaps it won't be as bad as it's been playing out in my mind..."
"...They're students, Veronica." Raina's eyes narrowed. "Minors."
"I'm trying to figure out when the hell 16 and 17 year olds started getting built like that. Is there some new potion supplement that's been circling around on the drug scene?" Veronica pondered.
"I think it's called well balanced diet and exercise." Raina replied nonchalantly. "But I believe it is time for us to head to Galdr Hall. The Grand Master will be starting the ceremony soon."
"Very well. Let's get this day over with." Veronica nodded and walked the paved path from the gates towards the main entrance of the academy with Raina in tow. Meanwhile four shadowed figures stood upon the grand arches set before the school. Two human shaped, the other two no larger than puppies. A single ray of the sun's light partially revealed their appearance: two males; one sporting sparkling gold chest exposed armor, his left hand rested upon his hip. Next to him stood the other figure who was slightly taller, more red samurai-like attire, headband dancing in the wind while his arms were folded over his chest. At their feet were two small winged mammals. One rainbow colored with butterfly like wings and feathery moth-like antennae, the other possessed white shaggy fur with feathered wings and several horns protruding from it's head.
"Veronica Elwyn and Raina Oakley...two of Alvar's finest instructors...yet I cannot say I miss them." the gold clad warrior shook his head as his sight left the two teachers and looked down to his furred companions. "Falk...are they here?"
"They're close." the white furred creature responded and raised his muzzle to the air, taking in a strong whiff. "Very close. Though they're not the only ones here..." he growled lowly.
"I figured that." the young man responded with a small frown. "This day will prove to be a test for them then. But we still need to retrieve her. We will not stand a chance for what's ahead without her powers. Iris," he glanced down to the rainbow schemed creature to his left. "I will need you to make a trip to Earth."
"Not a problem. " Iris nodded. "I will not let you down, my lords." she spoke to both men before her fluttering wings picked her up from the arch and began to carry her into the distance, leaving a trail of sparkles in her wake.
"Way to be obvious, Iris." the gold clad male sighed scrubbing a hand over his face. "Until she gets back, we just play the waiting game. " his lips curled into a small smirk as his might went to thinking of a certain gloomy prince of darkness who would be making his appearance here under his instruction. "Soon, my friend your destiny will become clear."
"...You're thinking of another guy and smirking." Falk said rather bluntly as he looked up to the other male clad in red and white. "Are you okay with this?"
"...Shut up, Falk." the male in gold sweat dropped.
Location Portland, Maine Date September 7th Time 12 am
"SHOTS! SHOTS! SHOTS!"
The crowd cheered through the pulsing music blaring through the speakers. The youth of Portland High School had gathered for their last party of the summer before the new school year. The drinks were poured and small glasses of tequila were passed out amongst the those in attendance. They were immediately knocked back and hands reached for more. The foam and bubbles poured from the machine onto the party hostess' pool deck leaving all in it's wake covered in suds. They didn't seem to care as they continued to dance, high on life....some high on other things.
"Like, Gretchen throws the most rad parties ever! This totally rocks!" said a black haired girl. Her name was Bianca Christensen, also known as the Party Rat as she was seen at every party thrown in by the student body and even some college kids despite not really knowing them. She was about 3 beers and 4 tequila shots into the night and showed no signs of stopping soon.
"Lucille! Like, get over the mopey attitude! Clean up your grump and have another drink! You've been nursing that Vodka and Cranberry for the last hour! Seriously!" she shouted to the blonde girl posted against the wall next to her with a red plastic cup in hand. Her hair was tied back into twin pigtails held in place by black and purple bands. Silver crescent moons dangled from the lobes of her ears and her attire for the evening consisted of a simple black halter top dress with a pink cardigan sweater and a pair of black heeled sandals.
"O-M-G. Okay, like so what if you came here with Austin and Gretchen totally kidnapped and took him to her room and they haven't been seen for the past 2 hours. Like, get over it. There are plenty of other guys here!" Bianca laughed.
"..." Lucille shot a side glance to Bianca. "Aside from the fact that Austin and I have been dating for the past 3 weeks? Forgive me if I'm a bit miffed!" the blonde shouted. "Stupid Gretchen and her big fancy house, candy red mercedes, fat checking account, perfect tanned skinned and sculpted body..."
"Don't forget flawless hair like silk..." Bianca added.
"Not helping!" Lucille threw her cup to the ground, spilling it's contents.
"O-M-G! What is wrong with you!? That was a good vodka and cranberry! You criminal!" Bianca screamed.
"Whatever." Lucille sighed stepping over the mess. "It's 12 am....I'm heading home. I have to....keep looking for the college I want to attend. You know, sophomore year, it's time to get cracking on that stuff."
"...You're just going to go home, lock your doors, turn down all the lights and watch Magic Mike." Bianca responded with a smirk. "Then you'll get depressed over Austin, cry and then eat whatever you have left of the tub of Oreo ice cream you have in your freezer."
"....You don't know me!" Lucille pointed to the other girl as her expression expressed hurt. Yes, it seemed Bianca knew her far too well and she did not appreciate being read like she had been. "Enjoy the party." were her final words before storming off from the pool deck...but not before grabbing a doughnut for the road from the table of party food that had been set up.
Lucille stormed through the pint sized mansion that was Gretchen Johnson's home and exited through the front door. Only half the doughnut remained as she shuffled through the front lawn. Before the final bite could be taken, the blonde found herself eating green as she tripped over a sprinkler and fell face forward into the grass.
"...damn it, even her grass is perfect!" she thought while finding it irresistible to not nuzzle her face against the softness of the lawn. After a few moments she finally rolled over onto her back and released a soft sigh as she started up into the night sky. Viewing the moon and the stars. They were so gorgeous that night and it would have been romantic to view them with Austin....if he hadn't been taken by Gretchen.
"...huh?" Lucille's eyes squinted as she could see an intense shine of bright light in the distance. Perhaps it was an airplane? Though it seemed too eerie for that to be the case. Her eyes closed for another moment before opening them again.
"..." Her body stiffened as her eyes were now locked with rainbow furred creature. The very same from before. It's butterfly wings fluttering to keep it hovered above the girl. While the creature wore an expression of gentleness, Lucille's face was frozen with wide-eyed terror. "Oh god....they spiked the punch. I knew someone would. I shouldn't have had any!" she whined. "I'm tripping balls....seeing mutated Care Bears..."
"Actually...I'm not a Care Bear. I'm a Ku-Sith and my name is Iris!" the creature's smiled widened as it chuckled. "I've come for you, Lucille."
"...And...you talk? Oh man, my brain is going to be swiss cheese by the time whatever was in that punch wears off...." the blonde whined.
(( OOC: Loooong post but needed to set up. Yes, Avalon's time is basically military time and it's 12 hours ahead of the EST Timezone, woo.
Alright, so it's orientation weekend at the Academy, so everyone should be arriving on campus which is huge. It's easily about 5 miles in diameter. In front of the main entrance through the gates is the main courtyard complete with a large sparkling white water fountain.
Feel free to have your characters meet each other or make up some NPC students to mingle with since this is a school setting and classmates are kind of important to have. Your characters could have probably even noticed and grew suspicious of Iris' sparkling trail left in the sky as she ventured through a portal to Earth.
Kuno, feel free to have Wanda do her thing and creep on the kiddies and festivities. ))

"These birds are so useful, feel free to hit them as well anyway, they're not really alive..."
Adri gave a quick nod, deciding to take advantage of the opportunity Azhrarn had given her. The hammer shrunk back to its orb form, before breaking apart into several dozens of small bullets that shot forward. The snakes were easier to aim at now, thanks to the crow.
The gunfire tore through the snakes, sending a number of them helplessly to the ground. However, there were more in the wake of these snakes. Adri scoffed, sending another blast of bullets forward.
"This isn't going to work in the long run," Adri warned Azhrarn, beating back the snakes. "There's too many of them." her eyes quickly scanned the battle field ahead. She had to find the source...
...And there it was.
"That," Adri spoke, indicating the Lamia. "I'm going to put an end to these," she insisted, readying the construct once again. Adri bolted forward, leaping into the air. She rose the Construct above her head, before it quickly reformed into its hammer form.
She brought the powerful hammer down right at the Lamia, intent on crushing the snake woman.

"I'm going to put an end to these,"
He nodded, as long the Snake Woman managed to vomit her children there wasn't going to be any end to this. Sadly Adri decided to go all out on the being.
"Rash as a Gwynwydd Paladin..." The Dark Prince muttered before deciding to push in as well anyway, using his teleport trick to reappear behind the snake woman.
"And I thought that the lack of the lower parts of a human made that work in the Brothel safe..." He said, almost a whisper aimed to distract the Lamia. "...I guess that you could still get pregnant with the only performance I suppose you could allow your body to perform..." He added as he delivered an horizontal slash with his sword, so that even if the Lamia decided to ignore his words and focus on Adri, the blade was going to make short work of her.
Otherwise if she turned her attention away from the falling giant hammer of massive destruction...

"You know, I didn't need to hear all about the process mom and dad used to make me, or any of the possible freaky things they could have done in that process. Most importantly, I did NOT need to know how many uses there were for... For a smart person... You're a closet freak."
Faroosa tilted her head slightly. "I believe I placed more emphasis in the biological act of copulation and subsequent germination rather than.."
She paused upon seeing the Lamia regurgitate its load.
"... Why did you have to tell me that whole pregnancy deal again? Bad enough I had to hear it, I didn't need to see it..."
The girl's eyes flitted from the snakes to the Lamia and then to the sight of the latest to transform.
"It appears that the Ku-Sith was not wrong after all," she murmured. Then she swept her brush to the side, focusing her attention of the swarm of snakes that were heading their way. She could see how Tokio was breaking up the pieces of wood... hmm. She could also try something else.
"So you know about the whole Medusa deal too... Unfortunately, I don't have any reflective surfaces. Besides, I don't particularly care for a scaley freak like this... Nor do I think she has any plans on letting herself be captured. More importantly... We've got other things to worry about."
"My personal skill, ability and materials on hand are insufficient to effect a proper capture, and there is insufficient linear time to implement a coordinated strategy to that effect. The loss of the live specimen is 99.35% likely." With a twist of the brush handle, Faroosa sent the tip flipping skywards, then began a rapid twirl of the staff-like brush, sending drips of 'ink' splaying about indiscriminately. In the next few moments, Tokio spoke.
"You're up."
"Burst!" The girl swiped her brush downwards - and from the chunks of wood as well as the places that the 'ink' had landed, spikes of wood sprouted out, cutting many of the incoming snakes apart. Then she stepped back, her eyes falling on a thin slice of laminated wood...
Her brush tapped once on the sheet. "Form of a throwing star!"
Chunks of the wood began to tear off, spinning at a rapid rate, flew into the herd of still-advancing snakes. A trickle of sweat made its way down Faroosa's cheek as her brow furrowed in concentration.
"It... appears that my control has.... limits," she got out. "It would behove us... to join forces with the other Rune Mages... to defeat this foe."

"My personal skill, ability and materials on hand are insufficient to effect a proper capture, and there is insufficient linear time to implement a coordinated strategy to that effect. The loss of the live specimen is 99.35% likely."
"Where I come from, we'd just say 100% chance." Tokio interjected as he heard the woman speak. "She's just bringing the wrath of every mage down upon her... I wouldn't care much for capturing her, myself, since I have no reason or desire to study her abilities. Unless I could somehow petrify enemies with my nature or dark attacks..." he trailed off. That WOULD be quite a useful ability, but unfortunately, it was just a pipedream for him.
Upon his insistence for Faroosa to attack, the field of spikes rose up, both from the wooden chunks he left behind, and the ink she began to drip around the area. In moments, a majority of the serpents had been impaled and dealt with, with the remainder being cut apart by the wooden strips Faroosa had peeled off and folded into throwing stars. However, in doing so, she seemed to be rapidly expending her energy. For all of her intelligence and curiosity, she was quick to discover her limits, it seemed.
"It... appears that my control has.... limits. It would behove us... to join forces with the other Rune Mages... to defeat this foe."
"... You're seriously running out of energy already? Well aren't you a funny one." Tokio remarked, folding his arms. "At this rate, you're probably just going to be useless if you keep trying to alter all of the wood, and then you'll just be an easy meal." he added, before turning away. This was a good chance for him to try his final ability... After all, there was a perfectly good target to use the skill on. Holding his free hand out, he smirked as a purple sphere of energy formed in his palm, crackling with electricity. "... Corrupted Seed." he spoke... before driving the orb into his own chest.
The effects were immediate, as he stumbled forward and fell to one knee, twitching somewhat uncontrollably, as he struggled to focus on the aspect he wanted from the attack. In moments, a purple light began to shine from the boy's back, before a stalk of energy erupted outward, taking the shape of some sort-of plant. He was surprised to find out the skill could affect more than just his foes. With the focus he could afford to muster, he raised his free hand to begin picking the red seeds that began to form at the end of the 'branches' that hung over his shoulders. Approximately six seeds in total.
"... H-here..." he grinned, slowly standing up and moving towards the girl, shoving four of the seeds into her hand, before placing the remaining two in his mouth to show what was to be done. Upon chewing the 'seeds', he could feel some of the energy he sacrificed for the attack being returned to him, though he still felt a noticable drain due to missing the other four. "Eheheh... Testing successful, it seems... Eat those, so you can continue fighting."

"... You're seriously running out of energy already? Well aren't you a funny one. At this rate, you're probably just going to be useless if you keep trying to alter all of the wood, and then you'll just be an easy meal."
Faroosa straightened up, lifting her brush away from the sheet of wood as she did so. "I do not think it is a matter of energy. I had to dedicate 83.43% of my spare brain capacity to projecting the throwing stars, as opposed to simply forming them. It is too early to hypothesize on why that should be the case, but as long as I stick to the summoning of spikes and static formation of origami, there should be no issues..."
She trailed off, as she only now took note of what Tokio was about to do.
"... Corrupted Seed."
It was a fascinating process. Faroosa narrowed her eyes, as she endeavored to absorbed as much of the process as possible... no, there was very little that she could gleam other than circumstantial evidence. She really, really needed proper equipment or-
"... H-here..."
The girl blinked, as the seeds landed in her hand, then she watched as Tokio proceeded to ingest the remainder.
"Eheheh... Testing successful, it seems... Eat those, so you can continue fighting."
"An energy supplement? Most fascinating." Without further ado, Faroosa popped the seeds into her mouth. Instantly she could feel the surge of energy within her... very, very interesting indeed.
She turned her attention to the Lamia, who was currently being assaulted by two of the Rune Mages. "Perhaps your botanical extensions can serve as bindings on the subject." Then she was off, painting a line behind her as she circled around the fight...

"An energy supplement? Most fascinating."
"In a sense." Tokio remarked, stretching for a moment before rolling his head around. "It's an unusual ability that can work in one of two ways: What you just saw, or else dominating the mind of the foe by focusing on their negative emotions and amplifying them. You'd be surprised at how helpless things become when you subject them to massive amounts of fear and the like." the boy spoke, like it was the most common thing in the world for him to say.
"Perhaps your botanical extensions can serve as bindings on the subject."
"Who's to say? Everyone else seems to be doing a fine job of making a mad dash for the creature... But it would be quite problematic if she continued to throw up those annoying pests." Tokio muttered, snapping open his fan and holding it up to focus. Near the Lamia, the familiar black vines began to worm their way free from the ground. Then, snapping the fan shut, he pointed at the foe, sending the vines surging forward. One went for her throat, aiming to restrict it and make it harder for her to pass the cnakes through, while another worked to obstruct her mouth. The remaining vines aimed to try and grab her tail and arms.
"What do you plan on doing then?" he asked, watching Faroosa trace... Something in ink. Whether her plan could work or not, he didn't know, but one way or another, everyone here was going to assist in putting down the snake-bitch.

"This power...what is it?" Lucille thought to herself. She could actually feel the heart beat and emotions of the others, becoming attuned to them in a sense. Her eyes finally opened to see them beginning their assault on the Lamia and her...offspring of sorts. "Why can I feel them?...this is weird..." she spoke softly.
"Your element." Iris spoke floating beside Lucille. "I'll explain later but right now, you have to help them fight."
"How? I don't know what I could do." Lucille added. "I can't control Earth or make paper constructs...can I?" she looked at the Ku-Sith. "Oh my god...am I the token teammate who's virtually useless!"
"..." Iris glanced off to the side, opting to stay silent.
"That's what 'Heart' is! Like that stupid Mexican with the monkey on Captain Planet! Why do I get the crappy power?! I don't want to talk to animals or heal monsters back to normal! I wanna blow shit up!" she whined. "How am I supposed to fight!?"
"Trust in your fellow Rune mages." Iris replied.
"Yeah, that's what I'll do. Heck, the darkness guy just admitted he hated me I'll trust him to have my back." Lucille spoke sarcastically. "Ick!" she replied jumping to avoid a strike from one of the rattle snakes. "This is so not cool!" she whined landing atop one of the tables.
"...Well thankfully, it looks like you won't have to do much..." Iris sweatdropped. She then nodded in the direction of the Lamia, who was under attack by the other Rune Mages. A sickening crack was heard as Adri's hammer struck the snake woman's shoulder, pushing her back into the swinging blade of Azhrarn's sword. Another high pitched scream was expelled by the lamia as the blade sliced through her arm, leaving a spray of blood, though she was promptly silenced by the vines of Tokio's command along with being restrained.
"...Dang...they are kicking her ass..." Lucille blinked. "But I would still like to help them..."
"You can." Iris smiled to her. "The power is within you to make them stronger."
"...What kind of crap is that? I can make them stronger but not myself? Man, what a rip-"
"If you don't stop complaining..." Iris growled as her face contorted from it's sweet demeanor to more of a demonic expression. Her paw raised was four claws sprouted from them. "You are the heart, you deal with it and you boost them up to defeat that damn monster or so help me, I will claw out one of your eyes!"
"Okay! Okay!" Lucille held up her hands defensively. "You're way less cute now."
"I'm not here to be cute. I'm here to whip you all into shape for the war ahead....but all that will be explained down the line at our meeting following this."
"...Will there be punch and pie?' the blonde asked. "....mmmm, pie...."
Iris reared back her paw in preparation to swipe across Lucille's face but the rune witch got the hint and immediately closed her eyes to concentrate as her hands clasped together for another prayer. "Metal...Earth...Darkness....Wood..." she spoke out the elements she sensed flowing through her five comrades. "Open your hearts...accept my strength..." she chanted again as gold energy had begun to swirl about the room, the very energy of life itself had been summoned and flowed into the five other Rune mages.
The muffled screams could be heard from the snake woman who thrashed within the vines that had ensnared her; knowing all too well that her demise was at hand.
((OOC: Lucille's gifts to you. Your characters should feel their powers double in strength. Go ahead and use that power to launch one final attack onto the Lamia to destroy her. We'll move on after everyone has done so. ))

"Open your hearts...accept my strength..."
Azhrarn looked with something close to horror as the golden energy flowing around him and then inside him, a hint of what was going to happen washing away any feeling of accomplishment he managed to get from ripping the Lamia's arm away. The last two things he needed in this very moment were to open his heart after a certain beast managed to remind him of his Princess AND to accept the strenght of a girl that reminded him of a so lacking in class and elegance version of Dunizhel.
Worst thing? He had to deal with it, despite claiming he hated her, that he wasn't going to help, the girl had done it anyway. The radiant energy was so similar to hers, so close to the luminous being he learned to love, so damnedly strong he couldn't do as much to prevent it.
The Dark Prince grabbed his sword both hands, raising it above his head, his cape of darkness reformed on his back, flapping as it was almost doubled in size as his strenght was, as his anger was as well. Well the latter tenfold.
"You know?" He said to the Lamia. "I was enjoying it, I even hoped that around these idiots I could have found some peace." He had decided to not use a spell for this, his blade ready to strike. "You had to come. You had to ruin everything, you and that hateful looking girl..."
He said nothing more as the sword feel down on the serpent woman to cleave her as Azhrarn tried to imagine he was cutting the Ku-Sith for her previous words about Dunizhel and Lucille for well, being Lucille.
It helped a little to make him feel better.

"In a sense. It's an unusual ability that can work in one of two ways: What you just saw, or else dominating the mind of the foe by focusing on their negative emotions and amplifying them. You'd be surprised at how helpless things become when you subject them to massive amounts of fear and the like."
"So a psychological attack seeking to paralyze higher-order decision making processes. This will certainly be effective against the vast majority of the populace, depending on the nature, form and specificity of the psychological attack. Since you mentioned a specific focus on pre-existing negative feelings, the specificity of the attack is greatly increased, and its corresponding chances of success is likewise enhanced." As she spoke, Faroosa continued to trace the circle around the battle with the 'ink' from her brush.
"What do you plan on doing then?"
"I will-" the Rune Witch began.
"Open your hearts...accept my strength..."
A golden aura surrounded the girl.... even more strength was coursing through her body now. Most fascinating. This also meant that a change in plans was warranted... it would hardly do not to push her limits now.
Completing the circle, Faroosa hopped back, the brush shrinking back to pen-size. Then she snapped her fingers, and a forest of thin spikes erupted from the trails of 'ink', all pointing vertically upwards... and then they slanted at an angle, as the girl proceeded to trace a character in the air with her brush.
"Storm."
The traced character glowed as it was named - then all at once, the spikes shot up into the air, making an arc just before reaching the high roof of the hall. They hung there for just an instance - before gravity proceeded to pull the 'arrows' downwards, sending them all homing towards a single target:
The Lamia.

"What is this...?" With widened eyes, Adri stared down at her free hand as she became encircled with golden energy. It came from Lucille, somehow. Adri couldn't explain it, but she felt a renewed vigor, an increase in her own power. Somehow, she felt it would be enough to take care of that snake.
Currently, the snake-woman was ensnared within the cranky kid's vines. Faroosa and Azhrarn both launched their attacks, Adri readied herself for the next and no doubt final attack.
Adri ran forward, having let the Construct lay in its circular form for just a moment. Adri leaped into the air, holding the construct above her head, and it began to change. It trasnformed into the massive War-hammer, and Adri swung downward with unforgiving force.
It came crashing down on the snake woman, mere moments after Faoosa's attack hit home. The result was a massive crashing sound, with Adri forcing all her energy behind the downward swing.
