Location Alvar Academy for Young Mages; Sefirah
Date September 7th
Time 13:00 hour

The day many juvenile mages across the realm had been waiting for finally arrived. The Alvar Academy had opened it's gates for all of it's students, both returning and new. Hugs and tears were exchanged as parents stood with their teens while they said their goodbyes before the students were escorted through the 70 ft crystal gates that surrounded the campus. It seemed that even some of the academy's own staff were moved by the precious moments exchanged between parents and their almost grown offspring. Students mingled amongst themselves making their introductions or those who have returned for their second and third years sharing the events of their summer.

"...It's so beautiful..." a young raven haired woman sniffled with her hands clasped together and her eyes shedding tears as her heart was moved. "It's like this every year...the beginning of the semester and graduation. I just....I just can't take it! Can you feel the love radiating around us, Veronica?" the woman asked whilst looking to her blonde companion. The blonde woman seemed less than amused by her friend's bleeding heart and merely closed her eyes and shook her head at the other's blubbering.

"I feel like this day needs to speed up. The orientation ceremony is always so draining...then next week is the festival....it's just going to be a long two weeks, Raina." the blonde woman opened her eyes once more as more students passed by her. Specifically a few males that seemed to earn a grunt of appreciation from her. "Though perhaps it won't be as bad as it's been playing out in my mind..."

"...They're students, Veronica." Raina's eyes narrowed. "Minors."

"I'm trying to figure out when the hell 16 and 17 year olds started getting built like that. Is there some new potion supplement that's been circling around on the drug scene?" Veronica pondered.

"I think it's called well balanced diet and exercise." Raina replied nonchalantly. "But I believe it is time for us to head to Galdr Hall. The Grand Master will be starting the ceremony soon."

"Very well. Let's get this day over with." Veronica nodded and walked the paved path from the gates towards the main entrance of the academy with Raina in tow. Meanwhile four shadowed figures stood upon the grand arches set before the school. Two human shaped, the other two no larger than puppies. A single ray of the sun's light partially revealed their appearance: two males; one sporting sparkling gold chest exposed armor, his left hand rested upon his hip. Next to him stood the other figure who was slightly taller, more red samurai-like attire, headband dancing in the wind while his arms were folded over his chest. At their feet were two small winged mammals. One rainbow colored with butterfly like wings and feathery moth-like antennae, the other possessed white shaggy fur with feathered wings and several horns protruding from it's head.

"Veronica Elwyn and Raina Oakley...two of Alvar's finest instructors...yet I cannot say I miss them." the gold clad warrior shook his head as his sight left the two teachers and looked down to his furred companions. "Falk...are they here?"

"They're close." the white furred creature responded and raised his muzzle to the air, taking in a strong whiff. "Very close. Though they're not the only ones here..." he growled lowly.

"I figured that." the young man responded with a small frown. "This day will prove to be a test for them then. But we still need to retrieve her. We will not stand a chance for what's ahead without her powers. Iris," he glanced down to the rainbow schemed creature to his left. "I will need you to make a trip to Earth."

"Not a problem. " Iris nodded. "I will not let you down, my lords." she spoke to both men before her fluttering wings picked her up from the arch and began to carry her into the distance, leaving a trail of sparkles in her wake.

"Way to be obvious, Iris." the gold clad male sighed scrubbing a hand over his face. "Until she gets back, we just play the waiting game. " his lips curled into a small smirk as his might went to thinking of a certain gloomy prince of darkness who would be making his appearance here under his instruction. "Soon, my friend your destiny will become clear."

"...You're thinking of another guy and smirking." Falk said rather bluntly as he looked up to the other male clad in red and white. "Are you okay with this?"

"...Shut up, Falk." the male in gold sweat dropped.

"SHOTS! SHOTS! SHOTS!"

The crowd cheered through the pulsing music blaring through the speakers. The youth of Portland High School had gathered for their last party of the summer before the new school year. The drinks were poured and small glasses of tequila were passed out amongst the those in attendance. They were immediately knocked back and hands reached for more. The foam and bubbles poured from the machine onto the party hostess' pool deck leaving all in it's wake covered in suds. They didn't seem to care as they continued to dance, high on life....some high on other things.

"Like, Gretchen throws the most rad parties ever! This totally rocks!" said a black haired girl. Her name was Bianca Christensen, also known as the Party Rat as she was seen at every party thrown in by the student body and even some college kids despite not really knowing them. She was about 3 beers and 4 tequila shots into the night and showed no signs of stopping soon.

"Lucille! Like, get over the mopey attitude! Clean up your grump and have another drink! You've been nursing that Vodka and Cranberry for the last hour! Seriously!" she shouted to the blonde girl posted against the wall next to her with a red plastic cup in hand. Her hair was tied back into twin pigtails held in place by black and purple bands. Silver crescent moons dangled from the lobes of her ears and her attire for the evening consisted of a simple black halter top dress with a pink cardigan sweater and a pair of black heeled sandals.

"O-M-G. Okay, like so what if you came here with Austin and Gretchen totally kidnapped and took him to her room and they haven't been seen for the past 2 hours. Like, get over it. There are plenty of other guys here!" Bianca laughed.

"..." Lucille shot a side glance to Bianca. "Aside from the fact that Austin and I have been dating for the past 3 weeks? Forgive me if I'm a bit miffed!" the blonde shouted. "Stupid Gretchen and her big fancy house, candy red mercedes, fat checking account, perfect tanned skinned and sculpted body..."

"Don't forget flawless hair like silk..." Bianca added.

"Not helping!" Lucille threw her cup to the ground, spilling it's contents.

"O-M-G! What is wrong with you!? That was a good vodka and cranberry! You criminal!" Bianca screamed.

"Whatever." Lucille sighed stepping over the mess. "It's 12 am....I'm heading home. I have to....keep looking for the college I want to attend. You know, sophomore year, it's time to get cracking on that stuff."

"...You're just going to go home, lock your doors, turn down all the lights and watch Magic Mike." Bianca responded with a smirk. "Then you'll get depressed over Austin, cry and then eat whatever you have left of the tub of Oreo ice cream you have in your freezer."

"....You don't know me!" Lucille pointed to the other girl as her expression expressed hurt. Yes, it seemed Bianca knew her far too well and she did not appreciate being read like she had been. "Enjoy the party." were her final words before storming off from the pool deck...but not before grabbing a doughnut for the road from the table of party food that had been set up.

Lucille stormed through the pint sized mansion that was Gretchen Johnson's home and exited through the front door. Only half the doughnut remained as she shuffled through the front lawn. Before the final bite could be taken, the blonde found herself eating green as she tripped over a sprinkler and fell face forward into the grass.

"...damn it, even her grass is perfect!" she thought while finding it irresistible to not nuzzle her face against the softness of the lawn. After a few moments she finally rolled over onto her back and released a soft sigh as she started up into the night sky. Viewing the moon and the stars. They were so gorgeous that night and it would have been romantic to view them with Austin....if he hadn't been taken by Gretchen.

"...huh?" Lucille's eyes squinted as she could see an intense shine of bright light in the distance. Perhaps it was an airplane? Though it seemed too eerie for that to be the case. Her eyes closed for another moment before opening them again.

"..." Her body stiffened as her eyes were now locked with rainbow furred creature. The very same from before. It's butterfly wings fluttering to keep it hovered above the girl. While the creature wore an expression of gentleness, Lucille's face was frozen with wide-eyed terror. "Oh god....they spiked the punch. I knew someone would. I shouldn't have had any!" she whined. "I'm tripping balls....seeing mutated Care Bears..."

"Actually...I'm not a Care Bear. I'm a Ku-Sith and my name is Iris!" the creature's smiled widened as it chuckled. "I've come for you, Lucille."

"...And...you talk? Oh man, my brain is going to be swiss cheese by the time whatever was in that punch wears off...." the blonde whined.

(( OOC: Loooong post but needed to set up. Yes, Avalon's time is basically military time and it's 12 hours ahead of the EST Timezone, woo.

Alright, so it's orientation weekend at the Academy, so everyone should be arriving on campus which is huge. It's easily about 5 miles in diameter. In front of the main entrance through the gates is the main courtyard complete with a large sparkling white water fountain.

Feel free to have your characters meet each other or make up some NPC students to mingle with since this is a school setting and classmates are kind of important to have. Your characters could have probably even noticed and grew suspicious of Iris' sparkling trail left in the sky as she ventured through a portal to Earth.

Kuno, feel free to have Wanda do her thing and creep on the kiddies and festivities. ))

"...Oh, I don't think I can watch this..." Lucille thought to herself as her eyes closed out the sight of the carnage that was sure to come from their enemy's defeat. The snake woman had been trapped by Tokio's vines and while she prepared to use her increased strength in an attempt to free herself, her attempt would ultimately be in vain.

A high-pitched screamed bellowed from her lungs, suddenly cut short by the sound of tearing flesh, skewered by Faroosa's spikes. Azhrarn's blade cleaving through her torso and Adriana's hammer dealt the final blow to crush the half woman, half snake creature. The sickening sound of bones shattering added to the symphony of violence. The corpse fells still too the ground, utterly mutilated beyond recognition--their first victory over the returning dark forces had been claimed.

"...Can I open my eyes?" Lucille asked peeking through her fingers. "I don't hear her screaming anymore...I'm assuming we won? Has someone covered the body with a blanket? I don't want to look at dead monsters."

"..." Iris sweatdropped at the blonde's comments. Just when it seemed that the girl couldn't have become anymore simple--she continued to speak and prove otherwise. Attention was brought back to the Lamia's corpse as it and the slain bodies of the imps had begun to dissolve into a black mist which flowed and spiraled through out the hall before dissipating completely.

"Good Job everyone." Iris spoke to the teens, though her tone remained heavy as did her heart. Thanks to the newly awakened warriors, utter catastrophe at the school had been avoided but on the floor were still a handful of students who had lost their lives here before they had even really begun to live. The Headmaster remained petrified by the Lamia's magic....however, that would be easier to reverse than death itself.

"Adamah...you're arm." Lucille had opened her eyes and noted that the young man's limb had been petrified...just like the Headmaster had been. Worse, that the Earth mage had been trying to protect her through this whole ordeal. Even Azharn had stepped in to make sure that she wasn't snake-lady food. "I'm sorry...you didn't have to sacrifice your safety for me...now you'll only be able to hold it with one hand when you go to the bathroom."

"..." a heavy sigh escaped the Ku-Sith as she resisted the urge to face-paw. Though through the blonde teen's sad choice of words, she felt that the girl was genuinely concerned for the young man. To quell those concerns, she would instruct her on what could be done to help him and the headmaster. "You have the power to undo that monster's curse. You can heal him and Headmaster Lucius. Use your Soul Dust."

"...Oh, yes. That's right. My Soul Dust. Because I totally know what that is." Lucille replied sarcastically. Then she thought about it for a moment and as she thought....power and the words incant the spell.

Odd how that always happened to someone new to their magical powers.

"I've got this." Lucille spoke as she summoned forth her weapon; a ivory and golden winged bow that instantly saw the top wing morph itself into a medium sized rod/wand shapred scepter. Winds were summoned flowing through the halls as pure energy was gathered into the scepter to be used to undo the stone curse that had been inflicted. "Soul Dust....Healing!" Lucille called. A radiant golden light erupted from the weapon's end. That light transformed into a golden dust, spreading across the halls. miraculously restoring the structural damage that had been done by the monsters, as well as restoring Adamah's arm and the headmaster back to flesh.

"Ugh..." Lucille felt herself becoming lightheaded, her knees buckling as the spell had been completed. She slipped down to her hands and knees as the scepter from her hands disappeared. "Why...do I feel so weak..." she asked using the last bit of her strength not to completely collapse.

"Side effect of your earlier spell. Sacrificing your own body's energy to boost up the magic and strength of your fellow Rune Mages." Iris informed.

"...Great. Being The Heart sucks..." Lucille whined. "...Hey...I fixed the property damage and reversed the stone venom....but those kids...are still dead..." the blonde noted as she glanced to the still bodies of the students who had fallen from the attack.

"Souls cannot be recalled that easily. Death has claimed them, I'm afraid there's nothing more we can do. But in the future we can do more to save lives from being destroyed." the Ku-Sith nodded as she glanced over to Headmaster Lucius who was beginning to come to his senses and recover from the spell. "We will discuss more....but not here. We must take leave." Her antennae glowed as the magic from it rippled forth a portal to be open. "Please step through. We haven't much time."

((OOC: Okay, yay. This bitch isn't dead, time to get it moving again. Feel free to have your characters react. I'm sure now that the fighting has died down, they have a lot of questions and are wondering what the hell they have gotten themselves into. All that will be answered within the next few updates of course. Just make sure you guys make your way through the portal. I will reveal where it goes in my next update.

...Also, someone feel free to help Lucille's ass up and through the portal. xD ))

"now you'll only be able to hold it with one hand when you go to the bathroom."

"It should suffice..." Azhrarn spoke with a flat and cold voice, his mood still not recovering from the damage the Ku-Sith did. "I'd hate to break it to you, but manhood achieve its full size only during certain activities..." He stopped, gave a flat look to the girl. "...or maybe you know better and we should start call him Snake Boy?" He shook his head as he turned to the others... "I'd feel sad for him tho, pretty uncomfortable to possess such a size that requires gripping two handed."

"...Hey...I fixed the property damage and reversed the stone venom....but those kids...are still dead..."

"Souls cannot be recalled that easily. Death has claimed them, I'm afraid there's nothing more we can do. But in the future we ca do more to save lives from being destroyed."

"Live with it, foolish girl." Now Azhrarn's tune was stone cold completely unfriendly and non-chalant. "What death claims, we can't retake. Despite how much we'd like to, despite how hard we struggled. They're gone and they will stay like that." He turned away, not even wanting to look at the beast and the Heart. "But that's a dream right? You'll wake up soon and chuckle at the cute present on it, the pretty magic and wonder why there had to be that scary monster. Though maybe someone here can play the Charming Prince part later..." He shook his head and looked from portal to girl and then from girl to portal, focusing on her lower half for completely unexpected reasons.

"..."

*Thud*

This was the sound of the Dark Prince not so gently helping the girl through the portal via applying some kinetic force directly to her using his armored boot as a mean to transfer such energy from his to her body. To Faroosa, if she was interested, the purely academic task of calculating path, speed, trajectory and all these heavily scientifically themed things. To be truly honest, given her position and his past over abusing princesses she even got lucky to end up conserving her somewhat doubted graces. It has to be said though that Dunizhel looked way more appealing to his eyes to the naive supposed to be princess.

"Good grief..." He mused to himself. "...I'm really required to step through?" He questioned the Ku-Sith. "You know, the less I see her or you, the better and less bloodthirsty I feel..." He said it with a neutral and casual tune, but his eyes were deadly serious. If the Ku-Sith could have any doubt about it, it was now clear she managed to win his eternal hate with the Dunizhel's memory reference.

Finally, after a grueling fight, the Lamia was finally dead... Perhaps in one of the messiest ways possible. Adamah lowered himself to one knee, his other hand reaching down to lift his stoned arm, as he frowned slightly at the sight. He cast a glance over toward Lucille now, who had shut her eyes so tightly, she probably couldn't tell the worst of it was done. All she needed to do was turn around...

"...Can I open my eyes? I don't hear her screaming anymore...I'm assuming we won? Has someone covered the body with a blanket? I don't want to look at dead monsters."

"Give it a moment." he spoke, pushing himself up as he kept an eye on the gorey remains for a few moments, however detestable it was, before it finally began to disappear. "Alright, it's all clear now." he smiled, actually feeling quite relieved he didn't need to look at the mess any longer. This was his first time fighting with magic, and... He had to admit, it was kind of fun and exhilirating. Very different from life back on Horologia. Even though his world had been taken by the forces of darkness, now he felt like he could get the power to rebel against them. However, if the sight around them was any indication, there were going to be lives lost in the process.

"Adamah...you're arm. I'm sorry...you didn't have to sacrifice your safety for me...now you'll only be able to hold it with one hand when you go to the bathroom."

"I beg your pardon?" Adamah asked, quirking his eyebrow at Lucille's rather... Unusual choice of words. Shaking his head, he laughed quietly. "Hahaha... Ah, fret not. With the Lamia dead, at least we won't have to worry about others being petrified now. There's always a silver lining to things." he nodded, before lowering his stoned arm, raising his right. "Besides, i'm sure I could train myself in the use of my right more. It doesn't take much focus to... Uh, hold it, as you say..." he shook his head. Women from outside of his planet were certainly a colorful bunch... Physically and verbally. Not just Lucille, but Azhrarn as well... What an embarassing conversation this had turned into...

However, the extent of her powers came as a surprise to him, as she drew a scepter of some sort. With a spell incantation, a warm light began to pervade the room, causing an unusual reaction in his stoned arm. He could feel his ability to move returning to him now... A sight he would not have believed if he hadn't just seen it for himself. "Amazing... This is your power?" he asked, looking away from his arm to Lucille, who now fell upon the floor on hands and knees. The use of her powers in such a way seemed to be quite taxing on her body. In the future, he needed to avoid getting harmed, so she didn't expend her energy trying to help him.

"Souls cannot be recalled that easily. Death has claimed them, I'm afraid there's nothing more we can do. But in the future we can do more to save lives from being destroyed. We will discuss more....but not here. We must take leave. Please step through. We haven't much time."

With those words in mind... Did that mean there was no hope for his own people on Horologia? ... No, right now wasn't the time to think about that. He had more pressing matters to attend to. This power, he needed to grow more proficient in its use. The others around him, they all needed to learn to better control their powers as well. With the opening of the portal, it would be time for him to step through. Azhrarn had taken the initiative to boot Lucille through the portal, the girl and the Ku-Sith having caused him some sort of irritation. Not wishing to be dragged into his drama, he moved forward quietly, stepping past the man and into the portal.

===

With the complete annihilation of the Lamia, Tokio couldn't help but smirk at the mess the snake lady had become. He'd seen just gratuitous and gorey action from when he saw his mother and father in action back on Eden, so he didn't seem put off in the slightest. Rather, it became an enjoyable sight to him.

"Not bad for our first test run of these powers." the boy muttered, raising the fan before his eyes, finally taking a moment to analyze the patterns upon it and the blades it created. It was strange, as he looked at the weapon, he could feel the presence of his parents within it... Almost like they were the ones responsible for the fact he had such a weapon at all. The mastery it gave over nature and dark element magic only strengthened that theor- Wait, he couldn't call it a theory, not with Faroosa around.

He looked around at the hall, noticing a few of the students deader than doornails, though the boy seemed to pay them no attention. Instead, his gaze fell upon Lucille as she began to heal Adamah's arm. Surely Faroosa had seen the occurence as well... If not, he was pointing it out to her now. "Get a load of that... The girl's a healbot. I can already tell we're gonna have to pull her funbags out of the flames on more than one occasion." he grumbled in annoyance, a hand resting upon his face as his head tilted back.

Once the healing had been done, it was time to go, it seemed, with the Ku-Sith opening up some sort-of gate... Which Azhrarn was all too quick to kick the girl through. "Well, now we know why he doesn't have any ladies hanging off his belt, and probably won't get one in this lifetime." he shrugged, before his eyes narrowed in a flat stare. "Then again, the girl's probably fine too; Those airbags should've cushioned her impact on whatever ground's on the other side." he remarked, shrugging in nonchalance as he walked towards the portal and stepped through it without another sarcastic word. He could almost swear he was channeling his aunt that time...

Faroosa nodded to herself in satisfaction at the brutal termination of the Lamia. As expected, she had calculated the angles and the force required accurately.... it really was amazing how much of a difference that boost in power had made. She would definitely need to investigate this further.

"Not bad for our first test run of these powers."

"My satisfaction rate is at 85.3%. It is evident that there are many potentially fruitful avenues of investigation that may be pursued post haste, such as-"

"...Can I open my eyes? I don't hear her screaming anymore...I'm assuming we won? Has someone covered the body with a blanket? I don't want to look at dead monsters."

"Creatures such as these do not leave temporally permanent physical remains," the purple-haired teenager stated. It didn't really matter that the subject had already proved herself to be an idiot, she was never one to pass up a chance to explain. "Instead, the terminated bodies perform a transmutation to a gaseous state that resembles a collective of air-suspended particles, such as is currently taking place." She indicated the wisps of smoke that the Lamia was turning into.

"Good Job everyone."

...Oh right. The Ku Sith was back. Faroosa had at least a dozen questions to pose to the creature, but she judged it 76.23% likely that they were about to get some answers soon.

Well, just as soon as the ditzy blonde finished her healing. Very interesting.

"Get a load of that... The girl's a healbot. I can already tell we're gonna have to pull her funbags out of the flames on more than one occasion."

The brainiac tilted her head slightly. "Assuming that by 'healbot' you mean an entity whose primary function is the restoration and recovery of multiple functioning biological states, it does seem 89.45% likely that we will need her presence in close proximity. However, I do not sense the presence of any potential portable containers of entertainment or amusement-"

"We will discuss more....but not here. We must take leave. Please step through. We haven't much time."

-That was more important. But before Faroosa could make a move, someone - namely, the object of hers and Tokio's conversation - was heaved through the portal.

"Well, now we know why he doesn't have any ladies hanging off his belt, and probably won't get one in this lifetime. Then again, the girl's probably fine too; Those airbags should've cushioned her impact on whatever ground's on the other side."

"....If you are referring to the female mammary organs, which seems 56.45% likely to be the case, they are not usually gaseously inflated. It is more usual for nutrient-filled baby feed to inflate said protruding mounds as a result of..."

So explaining, Faroosa took her turn through the portal. There was no way she was going to miss out on what the Ku Sith was offering. Knowledge was power, after all. And she was thirsting for it.

---

Elsewhere, the white-haired woman scowled at the sight in front of her.

"Interfering Ku-Sith," she muttered. "But I suppose I have to thank you... after all, you have shown me who I need to kill."

A soft, cold chuckle escaped her lips, as they turned upwards into a smirk.

"Soon, 'Princess', I will see your head on a platter. And your precious Rune Seed will serve my needs."

The chilling laughter echoed.

"My name is Lucille Hollands. I'm 16 years old. There's not much I can really say about myself because I didn't think there was anything all that special about me. Just an ordinary high school cheerleader until I was dragged into a whole new world. Sadly, there wasn't a hot arabic prince on a magic carpet involved, just a rainbow pokemon creature that decided to drop me into a whole new dimension that the majority of humanity have no idea about.

Avalon. A realm that one would find in a story book. Apparently the majority of the stories and myths we've become familiar with on Earth were once true. They just became myths after Earth lost all ties to the magical dimension. Apparently, there is some dark evil power that was banished years ago trying to rise up and take over. Isn't that how it always is? And of course, Avalon has it's own 'guardians' to combat any threats to it's overall existence. Rune Mages. Rune-Witch if you have a hole, Rune-Knight is you have a pole. And I am one of these warrior mages along with a few others....

Faroosa. A girl about my age. I think her brain houses just about every article on Encyclopedia Britannica. She kinda talks like an android sometimes too.

Tokio. He seems very aggressive but I think he's got a nice puppy, soft side to him. He gave his seed to Faroosa.

Azhrarn. He's a hottie but I don't think he likes me very much. He can give Batman a run for his money in the jerk department.

Adamah. Hunk of my dreams-- I mean, he's cool. He's really nice, even if I catch him staring at my chest a lot. My mom was right, boys only have one thing on their mind I guess.

We were all chosen to become these magical warriors to fight the darkness; each of having an affinity for a different element. I asked the pokemon thing if we could summon Captain Planet but then it smacked me. It's giving me more grief than Charizard did Ash, it's ridiculous.

I'm not sure what to think about it all. It's been a week since we met each other and we got our powers, The first fight, we won but a lot of people had died. Even now, we're all gathered at the memorial service honoring the students and faculty that lost their lives. The pokemon thing said that this was only the beginning an that we can prevent more people from dying if we accept out destinies and grow stronger in out powers. But I'm just not sure I can...

RUNE TIARES: Chapter II- Return of the Rune Mages

OP Theme: Hishoku no Sora

Location Alvar Academy for Young Mages; Grand Hall
Date September 14th
Time 17:00 hour

How her life had been flipped completely upside down within the last week, Lucille was still trying to make sense of it all. The whole existence of 'monsters' and 'magic' still had her a bit convinced that she was still dreaming or perhaps it was just wishful thinking on her part because she did not want to actually believe that she was currently in attendance at a memorial service for the 17 lives that had been taken the day her powers had been 'awakened'.

Following that battle, the Ku-Sith, Iris, had explained to her and her 'comrades' their new roles as chosen guardians for the entire dimension of Avalon. More laugh worthy was notion that Lucille herself was some long lost princess that had been stashed away on Earth. Naturally it prompted Lucille to return to Earth and question her parents about her origins. Their story of finding her on their doorstep left the teenaged girl a bit more distraught than she would have wanted to lead on. It had all been enough to prompt her to enroll in the academy at least so she could explore her magical potential. Of course she ended up rooming with Faroosa. That was just going to be an interesting pair living together.

The skies were grey, the light pitter-patter of the rain hitting the windows as from the muddied grey skies befitting the melancholy mood that weighed heavily upon the hearts of the student body and faculty alike as the headmaster stood upon the podium giving his eulogy to hear for all those currently in the mass hall. The very place that had been ravaged by that snake woman and her imps, the architectural structure itself having been repaired by Lucille's apparently potent healing magic but it had not been enough to revive the dead. She looked to her right at Adamah an then a few more seats down past him and to her left to spot the others who she had been bound to by fate.

Once the headmaster finished his speech, a soft beautiful but glum melody was played by the orchestra as holographic images of the fallen were projected overhead. Most of them who were just kids around her age... it was beginning to be a bit too much for her to handle. The ceremony has not over but Lucille could not bear to look at the faces of the dead she couldn't save. She stood up, ignoring the eyes that snapped their gaze to her as she printed out of the grandhall and outside onto the entry steps. The drops of rain upon her face blended with the tears that were not being shed. She took a seat upon the steps, staring forward out towards the main courtyard stretched before her. A flash of rainbow light appeared to her side and in place of the shine stood Iris staring up at the girl.

"You're being too hard on yourself you know. Death is inevitable and you won't be able to save everyone."

"...I'm aware. I just....wish I could have done more. If I had known I had the power to. If I didn't believe this was all a fantasy..." Lucille sighed. "And you keep saying that it will get worse if me and the others don't step up to the plate and accept our destinies and powers..."

"Which I hope you do." Irish nodded. "Because I backed off so you all had a week to let it sink in. Now we have more pressing matters to deal with..."

((OOC: Okay, getting this back running. Time skip is exactly 7 days from when the first battle happened. Feel free to reflect on what your character has done over the last week . How they're dealing with being chosen as a Rune Mage. Also, they should be at the memorial and possibly maybe join Lucille outside with Iris~ hint hint~))

"Such dreadful skies..." Adamah sighed as he stared up at the ceiling, looking into the gray overcast of the heavens above. He hadn't seen such torment and sadness since his escape from Horologia, but he could not blame them. Though many people died on his world, it had been his first time seeing them, and yet he still found a way to get himself to safety. Yet now, when there was no need to run, when everything had time to sink in, the deaths of fellow students remained fresh in their memories, with no end to their remembrance. How would they react, knowing everyone but then continued to live?

"It's such a damning thing to think about..." his thoughts came out in his mind, before he glanced down to Lucille. She was just as traumatized, just as fearful as she was, perhaps even more. Though he'd seen it before, this was her first time... Knowing that her powers could be used to heal, and yet being unable to save the lives of those lost... Surely, she felt some of the responsibility lay with her. It proved to be too much to bear when the faces of the deceased began to be displayed for everyone to see, prompting her to get up and move out of the grandhall. "Lucille..." he muttered, closing his eyes before he slowly rose up. Though he acknowledged that the eyes of others were upon him, and Lucille before him, he still had an ally to comfort.

To let her know she wasn't alone.

"You care because it is in your nature... Isn't it, Adamah? You're kind and caring... Yet so many around you are suffering, so why are you only consoling her?" he asked himself as he moved through the hall to find her sitting out upon the steps, in the open rain as the Ku-Sith spoke to her. Hanging his head, he moved to follow them out, moving to take his blazer off as she would perhaps need it.

"You're being too hard on yourself you know. Death is inevitable and you won't be able to save everyone."

"...I'm aware. I just....wish I could have done more. If I had known I had the power to. If I didn't believe this was all a fantasy... And you keep saying that it will get worse if me and the others don't step up to the plate and accept our destinies and powers..."

She could perhaps see the slight shadow around her, maybe even notice something of a lack of rain hitting the top of her head for the time being before the blazer came upon her head, Adamah moving to take a seat beside her. "You did all you could, Lucille... No one can fault you for anything." he spoke, raising a hand to her shoulder. "It may get worse... But remember, you aren't alone in these endeavors... You have all of us standing at your side. So you'll never have to face these harsh realities on your own." he added, nodding softly as he looked at her, before facing forward.

"Now come on, let's get you back inside. We don't need you catching a cold on us." he finished, attempting to at least cheer her up with a warm smile despite the rain falling upon his features. Perhaps just a bit hypocritical, since he was in no better a position, but his concern was her for the moment.

===

Seven days since their initiation ceremy, seven days since they gained their powers... Seven days since a number of people died on what was otherwise supposed to be a day of people just beginning their lives as Rune Mages for the academy. Prior to this, he lived a somewhat comfortable life on Eden, under the care of an equally-combative mother and father when it came to conflicts that arrived on their doorstep or simply lie in their path. When not them, he was usually in the care of his aunt who, like his dad, encouraged his growth behind the scenes and away from her more-strict sister.

"It may be better not to tell them about this. The last thing I need is mom visiting personally to remove me from the academy." Tokio's mumbled within his thoughts. Settled down in the chair, he stared up into the sky, noting just how grey and depressive the atmosphere was. Though he couldn't blame anyone, it almost felt... Convenient, expected, anticipated even. A series of deaths, and then very gloomy weather. Such occurences were usually relegated to anime and video games, but now he seemed to be living the experience, almost as if the universe itself was conscious of what happened, and weeped for the lives needlessly lost on their first day.

He hadn't taken notice of Lucille getting up to excuse herself from seeing the faces of those who died, though if he did he would not have blamed her. For someone used to a sheltered life, it was difficult watching people die around you for the first time. Once the music played and their faces began to show, he opened his Blackthorn war fan and crossed it infront of his chest, lowering his head to acknowledge each one of the fallen persons in their passing. It was a similar notion his father performed when there were dead innocents. Having grown from the many years he used to be in his teens, he would often be seen crossing his arm infront of himself as they returned to the cycle of reincarnation.

Raising his head, he glanced to the side and realized Lucille was nowhere to be found, with Adamah getting up a moment later. "Well, they aren't taking it very well... I wonder if we're just monsters in our own way." he remarked off-hand to Faroosa, standing up a moment later as he snapped blackthorn shut before slipping it under his blazer. Proceeding along, he watched as the pair of Lucille and Adamah made their way outside, the latter arriving a bit later. Evidently, they wouldn't be the only ones.

"Which I hope you do. Because I backed off so you all had a week to let it sink in. Now we have more pressing matters to deal with..."

"Feh... Some of us can handle it better than most, but cut the new ones some slack. Observing death, let alone sitting through its acknowledgement, isn't ever an easy feat." he muttered, pocketing his hands as he stepped outside. "That being said, she's right... You're going to have to get over it sooner or later, otherwise you'll just lock up again when someone dies next time. Better start steeling yourself for that inevitability." he finished, moving to stand near the Ku-Sith.

Seven day had passed, seven day the young prince had spent dealing with anyone else in a way that would've made the relations between two certain countries from Lucille's world during a certain Cold War period look like a bromance to the comparison. True, he didn't actually actively avoided people, but his answers were always formal, short to the point and cold. Very cold. Due to his peculiar homeworld it wasn't really strange that the young man always had a cape on him to protect himself from the sunrays, it was something even the other, few, students from Annwyn did and the teacher had learned through the years to deal with it. The ironic bit of the story though was that while it was almost expected that the students from Gwynwyn avoided him due to the long lasting rivalry going between the two worlds, even Annwyn students seemed to shun the prince. So in the end Azhrarn had spent these past days either attending lessons, being in the library reading books about mythological creatures or closed in his room drinking tea or sherry.

And now that they were holding a memorial, just to make clear how much he cared about others' acceptance, Azhrarn had choose to wait outside of the building, still clad in the black cape that covered his elegant clothes, still emotionally distant from the other beside being physically close to the girl named Lucille and the Ku-Sith faerie. Lucille... They had seen Azhrarn break his composed expression only once and it happened when the Ku-Siths informed the group she was a princess and he bursted into laughters. His wasn't an happy laugh and neither a too much spiteful one, his laughs were somewhat sad, amused by the irony of such a low class girl to his eyes being brought by a somewhat uncivilized world to rule over one of the most powerfuls in the Avalon dimension. The prince ended up excusing himself and retired to his room, where he kept laughing so much that he had stomach pains the day after. Yes he knew it didn't helped to improve his popularity and, yes, he didn't cared.

"Which I hope you do. Because I backed off so you all had a week to let it sink in. Now we have more pressing matters to deal with..."

"Like?" Azhrarn spoke quietly, leaving to Snake Boy the role of cheering up the newly found princess' mood. The other guy had talked about Death and he had seen plenty before, probably more than anyone else in the small group of choosen Guardians that the Ku-Sith had gathered. "Turning the Duckling into a Swan?" He said with his usual distant and cold tune, there wasn't spite in his words, just a total and definite lack of trust in others. "Train us so we can fight your wars?" Now there was more than little spite toward the Ku-Sith. "You know, being too much manipulative is irritating and the guy had it right..." He said looking to Tokio and shrugging. "...there are people that can deal with death and people that cannot so easily, I dont know which greater good you little ones work for, but are you going to change one's nature to achieve it?" He questioned, totally unfriendly toward the fae being.

One week's time of contemplating and over analyzing all that had happened the night the school was attacked did little to nothing to calm Adrienne's nerves. After the initial battle, Adri, unsure of what else to do, had decided to go home. The moment her parents had heard of the attack, they had immediately sent for her. Adri did go home, and had spent the week there.

All she had done was become just a bit more of a recluse than she had before. She had spent all week in her room, contemplating what had happened--monsters, the fact she was some kind of powerful mage warrior, and the fact she had watched a number of people her own age die.

Not a one of the things that happened that day sat well with her. And so, Adri tried to resort to her mind to figure it all out--though it was of little help. After trying to make sense of everything, she had gotten no closer to actually figuring anything out. She had only managed to come up with more questions. She hadn't told her parents just how involved she had been, either.

And so, after that week of searching for an answer, Adri came across one piece of logic she could use.

She would return to the others that had experienced the same thing. Perhaps the only ones that could even begin to understand what had happened to her. Lucille and the others that had been there when she had changed the first time. They, and those cat-things, were her only hope to understand the situation. The only way she would get answers and learn acceptance was to face the situation, and not hide from it.

So after a short time of convincing her parents to let her return, Adri did just that. She had returned the day of the memorial service--in fact, just about an hour ago. She had made her way to the cathedral hall, in order to pay her respects.

The cool rain fell down upon her. Adri wore a black jacket, and carried a white umbrella, in order to keep her dark-hair shielded. Her cool eyes scanned the cathedral as she neared it. She was unsure exactly what she would do once she got there--or how she would find the rest of the group.

Though, it seemed to be easier than she had thought.

Adri was surprised to see three of them outside the cathedral: Lucille, Adamah, Azhrarn, and the angry one. Tokio, was it?. They all seemed to be talking, standing out in the cool rain. She stood there in silence for a few moments, observing the quartet. A large part of her wanted to avoid them--she had done so for an entire week, after all. And she knew the moment she stepped up to them was the moment she'd be facing everything...

But it had to be done.

And so, Adrienne stepped forward, quite composed. "Isn't the memorial service inside?" she asked, looking over the four of them.

((OOC: Oho, I'm not out just yet. I'm back to torture you all in this RP c;))

Barana Sheena Aitorne had been late to arrive, but it was important enough a matter for her to attend to. It was tradition back on Crines to bring woven offerings of lilac vines to what they more kindly called 'the parting ceremony'. Death was only glossed over in favor of the celebration of life, and the reincarnation that would bring everyone together again someday, across the vastness of the universe. The kind mother she was.

Her arms were filled with these corsages, white liliac flowers glowing faintly with the phosphorescent petals they possessed. It had been a species of flora dear to her she brought in the form of saplings from her old home, though to call it a home would have been stretching it. It was still warm, dry and I learned to be happy there. I miss the Equesols though. There isn't anywhere here to go riding. But what does that matter, think better Barana, this is the time your students need you most right? Those that have passed on aren't the ones hurting now. They haven't lost friends, haven't seen the young taken so quickly from us. She almost fell forward in her heeled boots, her attire befitting the respect for the dead though no one would know how out of place it was on a woman originally relegated to cleaning out stables and sleeping on bales of hay.

She smiled softly, though her brows drew with concern. There were four outside, no five in front of the cathedral and she could see that Lucille was struggling the most.

Lucille... she frowned, knowing that there was something unique about her case. She had familiarized herself with all of her student's profiles for weeks and even though her normally quiet demeanor made it hard to not stutter out their names when she finally saw them, she still knew how much warmer she felt when someone actually remembered her name.

They're all my students... This is terrible. I... I know... She slowly approached the group, knowing that she shouldn't outstay her welcome. They were kids and even though she sometimes acted with the enthusiasm of one, she needed to give them enough space. With a little bit of magic she made sure the living gold bands around her corsages were in place, something she had a knack with in the war. But for some reason, only gold.

"It's wet out everyone. I know it's hard to go inside, but perhaps you could just stand under the awning? I know my nursing skills are rather rusty right now." She tried to smile wider, joking a little as she pulled out one of her corsages and held it out for Lucille, the blossoms glowing more when jostled lightly. White and faintly pink. "I think that you can do your best to remember them... by holding on Lucille." She finally gathered the courage to say her name, even though they had never met.

"Adamah... Faroosa, Tokio." She turned to the other two, shifting her arm so they could take a corsage if they wished. Her voice wavered only slightly now, "Azhrarn, Adrienna..."

"You're all so precious to us. All of you. But the flow of life keeps running, and it's a beautiful thing." She smiled, looking down at her feet as she tried to do her best attempt to cheer them up somehow.

"I grew these from home, I keep a garden to remind me of just how much beauty there still is in the universe. But these are special. They symbolize that connection we'll always have. The way fate brings us all together more times than we can count." She laughed softly, in the rain, her hair starting to plaster to her forehead. "I can understand you not wanting to go back inside Lucille. Or any of you. Maybe you could find somewhere and plant these instead. I think those we lost wouldn't want you staying in the past when there's so much joy to life."

She paused, wrinkling her brow, one hand reaching up to itch a temple while holding one of the plants in her hands. "I should go see if they need me inside."

"Adam..." Lucille looked to the male, somewhat surprised that he had followed her out there. That and give up his blazer to keep her shielded from the rain. Shaking her head, she gave a light snort at his words. Perhaps he had a point, she did what she could do and shed just have to accept that those lives lost weren't completely her fault. "I'm not so sure about all of you standing beside me. I'm pretty sure Azhrarn loathes my existence..." she began to recall his fit of laughter after Iris had revealed Lucille's true identity of being the lost heir of Caelestra...to which she still didn't truly believe but his laughter at the possibility was not at all appreciated by the young girl. Speaking of the devil himself, both Azhrarn and Tokio had soon joined them, along with Adri. the latter had surprised her. "Adri, you came back." she smiled a bit to the other girl before growing quiet.

Iris had no issue responding to Azhrarn's and Tokio's comments. "It isn't my war, your highness. It's our war." the Ku-Sith's response was apt and with no malice whatsoever. "You were meant to fight. From the moment each of you were born, a Rune Seed had been planted within each of you by the Elyons, it is a high honor. Tokio is correct, it's better for you to accept death and get used to seeing it because there will most certainly be more to come. I will not be the one to change your natures. It's either adapt to survive or be killed. There is no escape from this. You all may run away if you wish, however, eventually the enemy will seek you and then your body may not even be left to bury." The fairy beast held her chin high, her nose turned upwards as if to dismiss any further questions and comments that would come her way.

"..." Lucille bit her lower lip for a moment and prepared to respond until an older woman had approached the group. And apparently knew each of their names and also bearing gifts to each of them. Lucille had to admit that the flowers were quite beautiful, far more beautiful than any other plant she'd ever seen back on Earth. "...Are you an Avalonian hippie? You growing something else in that garden of yours?" Lucille asked the woman. She couldn't help it, hearing at how she talked about growing flowers, the flow of lie and beauty in the universe. "...Or are you an enemy? Iris, is she....Iris?" Lucille looked around for the fairy beast but she was no where within sight any longer. "....Wish I could appear and disappear on a whim." the blonde muttered to herself.

"Excuse me." a soft voice had called for the gathered group's attention. A silver haired girl stepped out from behind Barana, dressed in black and holding an umbrella to shield herself from the weather. She was a rather beautiful girl, soft pale skin, ruby red eyes and hair that cascaded to just above her ankles. She offered a smile to each of them and raised a fist timidly to her chin. "I'm sorry for interrupting but....is the memorial over? Have I come too late?" she a gave a brief glance over to Azhrarn and a soft tint of pink flowed into her cheeks.
