They were detailed and very helpful. Thank you.
I do have a few more questions that go together.
The monsters. Big ugly beasts, that love destroying things. We slay them and harvest body parts to integrate into our machines. My questions are these: Are the monsters Techno-Organic? Are they compatible with our machines? Or are the monsters organic and we take once living things and strap them onto our very metal and very techno giants? Or is it something else altogether where we take the monsters data and body and develop tech from the parts. Such as seeing a giant armadillo monster that shoots giant stubbly rocks from its back and we develop a tougher exterior armor and missile launchers that hide within the layers.
As you can see I am very excited for this, and kudos on the great name.

I'd say that in monsters' case it's more them being biological technology rather than techno-organic, but that's me being picky on word choices.
To make and example, they armor plates are going to be made of the very same metal alloy that our player will be able to find on other items\weapons. It can be even melted. But they grow the plates in a biological way.
When we harvest parts from them, we have two way to make use of such parts:
The very most intuitive one is to use said parts as crafting material, like armor platings from carapaces and weapons from horns and claws. A la monster hunter to make a fair enough paragon.
The second way is a little more complicated and it's one of the moments where differencies will show between a full-linker and a controller. Basically, yes we will be able to rip pieces of other mechas and graft them on ours. It's going to be a complicated thing and have some SERIOUS drawbacks.
First of, full-linkers will develop mutations based on the creature they grabbed the part from. It's not necessarily going to be related to that specific piece of body and can be an useful thing. But at the same time they'll lose their humanity doing that and people will react to them in very, very, different ways.
Controllers get it better as the mutations wont happen, but to fully utilize any kind of weaponry added like this, maintenaince on the unit is required to be performed. Adding armor plating it's kinda cheaper and easier, basically you put the plating in place and it merges..
Mecha allow the grafting process through nanomachinery that's used also to repair minor damages and perform the regular mainteinance process. A grafting basically takes an organic part and transform it into a mechanical one replacing bones with alloys and flesh and nerves with plastics and optical fibers. It taxes a lot on the unit nanomachines reserves so the mecha will shut-down for a little after such an act to be performed. Also, it will be required to 'refill' special 'tanks' of supplies in case of what once was a biological weapon.
The process is sort of reversible by the aforementioned tech-sawy caste. Provided they have the spare parts, everything but the very core of a unit can be replaced. Even more deep modifications are going to be allowed later on or from the start given you flesh out the details with me. I.E.; with a certain price on character's humanity one could start with something like an EVA.
Oh about that, the mechas comes on various sizes as I said, but the range is between the 15 -25 (30 in pretty rare cases) meters, so no Gunbuster\Super Robot sized ones.
